I agree that Pajero is good value for money, it's affordable, it's got space for extra gear and it's good for city and offroad driving as I had a couple of them, all you need is to know how to drive them right.
I had a lancruiser for 9 years, followed by a pajero. Both of them Never missed a beat. Bought them for towing a 21ft caravan, and off road driving all around Australia. The only reason i didnt get another landcruiser was that they were too expensive compared to mitsi
I've a 1994 Pajero 3.0 litre v6 Eci-Multi engine 'Exceed' and did beat the Land Cruiser my dad's friend has which is the one shown in the Video. No modifications done. It was stock vs stock and it dd beat it in every single thing from off road to engine capability. Both on Petrol.
Lots of Pajero fans in the comment section! However, 11 years after this video, Pajero has lost its battle. It's almost the cheapest second hand 4WD on the market!
"Independent rear suspension gives better articulation" what has this guy been smoking, hard core offroaders use solids, and lockers. that said, the old shoguns are great machines
such a biased review, he gives points as to why the Prado is better than the Pajero, then goes off to say the Prado is worse in that category, like the on-road xtics, he says the Prado is more comfortable, 3 secs faster and has more cabin isolation, but the pajero is still somehow better, just because it gives you more feedback through the wheel, this is a luxury SUV for fu** sakes, it should isolate me from imperfections, its not a sports car that i will need feeling through the steering wheel.
@@lexuslfa4739you are being biased as well. I’ve owned both a 120 series and a 4th gen pajero and the pajero genuinely is much better on the road and off-road but the land cruiser is more comfortable and quiet. Overall the pajero is a bit better but the land cruiser suits my needs better.
I think I agree with this and that for my needs the Pajero is just a little bit better. However, I'd really like to know if there's a difference between the long and short wheel base versions.
I agree you should add "Prado" in the Toyota's name, to clarify this is not about the all mighty "Toyota Land Cruiser". About the "Pajero", I beleive is OK most people will understand what you are talking about. At the end of the day in the roads of Bolivia there are more "Pajeros" than "Monteros".
That's a prado or a land cruiser prado, that model Pajero has a common rail motor as well, 14lts/100k? What a load of shit my 2003 does 13 in town Iv seen that model do 11 in town, who cares about how long it takes to get to 100 km/h it's not a race car it's a car that's capable of going off road no need for speed out there
Here in Belgium this Prado is just called the land cruiser. On the European site it is also just called the land cruiser. Maybe that's why they didn't use the name Prado. The 0-100 speed is not that important, but I drive a fiat qubo with 70 hp which is stated to do 0-100 in 13,7 seconds. I can tell you, either that is not true, or better performance would be needed here in Belgium, because entering the highway ends up with a lot of stress because it doesn't accelerate fast enough for me. When you are entering it and want to merge, you start counting '71 72 73 74' instead of '70 80 90', even ending up at a slower speed than trucks at the end of the merging lane. Their statement about fuel economy is something different, there should be a context told about it. Could it be the drive style, and did they test it equally etc.
IMHO the best thing about this review was the camera work. I was hoping for a clear winner, and being a Pajero man, hoping for the mighty Pajero to slay the Prado dragon. Instead it felt more like 'kissing my Sister' moment with nothing surprising really coming out of the review to get me excited. I'd say both vehicles are too close to separate with Toyota living off it's reputation and Mitsubishi offering better value for money. In other words you can't go too wrong with either vehicle.
Pajero has been the best for its rugged off road and sporty capability otherwise how it became champion 12 times in the most grueling off road motor sport "Dakar Rally". Do u folks think it became possible just ..... where as Land cruiser has no existence. However, they are sold more as it is also a commercial & official use vehicle unlike sporty class vehicle Pajero.
May I kindly suggest you tag this video as Toyota "PRADO" as well, since it is sold as such everywhere except Europe? You could also tag it "Lexus GX 470" since it is basically the same car. BTW: You could also tag the Mitsubishi MONTERO (Latin America and US) and SHOGUN (UK). Damit werdet ihr bestimmt mehr "Views" wetlweit haben. Schön, dass ihr alles auf Englisch vorstellt... +hzj79 Not actually. It's a little smaller than the full size land cruiser 200 series, but otherwise the base construction is the same kind of. Ladder frame, independent front suspension, live axle rear suspension, etc. Has proper 4 wheel drive system, with low gear, and optional rear difflock. Also has other toys from the 200 series nowadays, like the KDSS, etc. Then 70 series is a little different with live front axle, etc. Rav4 instead is totally different, it is car based, has no frame, no proper 4 wheel drive system, totally different overall layout, engines, everything.
Zee B id say the prado is the more off-capable vehicle (especially the 120 as it’s offered with the legendary 4.0L v6 which known to get a lot of torque down at low rpm’s despite being a PETROL engine) because the 150, 120 and 90 prados have better approach and departure angles as well as break over angles (120 and 90 prado has the same approach and departure angles as the 70 series lamdcruiser) and they are WAY lighter than the 200 landcruiser and the 150 prado gets a 180L fuel tank, with the 2.8L diesel it can travel more than a 1000 kilos without without refilling, the 120 and 150 prados also have similar off-road features compared to the 200 so really the prado is a bargain compared to the expensive Landcruiser, but you can’t deny the Landcruiser roominess and excellent creature comforts
