To anyone wondering if this benefited having Evade Window 5, sadly it does not. I did extensive testing on the training area and it still has the same activation window with or without it.
That’s cool then no need to waste skill slots on that skill then, I luckily got a level 2 redirection charm with ballistics level 2 and a single level one slot, after watching this video I feel blessed as this will be amazing with dereliction or bloodlust 👌👌👌 thanks for testing that though as I was wondering that and you saved me a lot of time, hope more people see this comment.
6 months late but evade window does do something: the backward switch evade gets more i-frames, which while a bit overkill is still nice. This basically allows you to redirect a charging monster head-on, and end up landing right in their face, fact which makes this skill combination *extra* saucy for hunting horn
Found this skill very helpful as a reposition/wirebug restore for Strongarm Stance GS, especially when the monsters are doing attack sequences that can't just be straight up countered with Strongarm Stance into tcs.
FedEx has been playing games with my collectors edition. It still hasn’t arrived and today finally says delayed but that it won’t be here until tomorrow. So I guess I’ll be playing the expansion soon…ish.
Wire bugs are crazy powerful and highly dependable so this makes it even better lol. I can't ever go on a hunt without lv3 wirebug whisperer. And on top of that, nothing is used aside from a small animation for a switch skill swap. Can't wait to try it out.
The timing of it is reallllly specific that I don't think it's worth trading for guarding or other evasive moves. People are equating it to Valor dodge and that's just not true lol. With that you could just hit a button and wait for it to activate. With this there's like a .3 millisecond window to get it right. The bigger issue is that skill swapping is so janky with some weapons. You can't activate them during some of the end lag of certain weapon moves. This move would've made a lot more sense if the activation happened during the whole process of the skill swap, rather than just the initial button prompt
I can't for the life of me get the Redirection level 2 auto swap evade to work in the training room against roars. For what it's worth I can use tackle with HBG through the roars pretty consistently, as well as switch skill evade (although this takes a lot longer than tackle) so I'm not sure what's going on. Lucky I don't really use skill swap because I want to stay on Red scroll for Mail of Hellfire.
Ooo this will be fun. I'm in MR2 and have been using evade extender on GL and it's been pretty great imo. I Wyvern fire, cuz no bullet barrage yet, and switch skill evade for reposition (and with extender feels like a teleport haha) then hail cutter which now pretty much lets you wyvern fire again.
I think this could have been great if the bug regen was actually added to your currently recharging bug when you have 3 on hand. As it is now, it doesn't get you to a state where you can effectively just insta use your 2 bug skill again. But I guess you could make the argument that this makes using 2 bugs viable, rather than having to engage in the tedious mechanic that is running around the map for wirebugs.
Can you turn around a dodge into the monster? My biggest concern is the disengage distance. Because your weapon is unsheathed, you have to either move at your weapons speed or burn a wirebug to reingage, defeating the purpose it it was to build meter.
@@theunderdog9353 that's fair I suppose. im not like pressuring people to use it or whatever. but maybe look around at the armor you can craft. master rank armor in this game has so many skills, and im sure you can find an armor piece that has some good crit eye/boost levels with a level of evade extender or two on it.
@@theunderdog9353 Its use for GS would strictly be to get out of a multi hit you just committed a strongarm counter to. Usually the only way to survive getting flung during this is to tackle and powersheath away (something only possible with 3 bugs). With Redirection, you'd take no damage, recover 4 seconds of the 16 second skill cooldown. Also, EE2 has honestly become a must have skill for all slow moving weapons. The tracking and speed of monsters is relentless. I don't leave home without it. It's far more important to have flexible, workable movement that lets you engage monsters better than have that 10% affinity.
yeah, the evasion is always based on where your character is aiming, so if you look away from the monster before triggering the skill you'll send yourself hurtling into them
Devs probably wanted it to be a player based skill instead of a free out of jail card with evade window. I did extensive testing on the training area and it still has the same activation window with or without evade window 5
So 4:24 with max shifter dango, doing an evade skill swap nullify stamina consumption on regular swaps? I thought scroll swaps didn't consume any stamina? Or does it mean something else?
I don’t get what buttons he is pushing to do the backwards dodge? I thought this is referring to the dodge you can do right after the skill swap but I don’t see him doing that beforehand?
Kinda noticed that this skill isn't that helpful when it comes to having 3 wirebugs equipped. It might be better with only two due to how wirebug cooldown priority works
Charge attacks would all be things also affected by Focus -- the information should be quite readily available if you search for what that affects, instead.
See all these cool skills in the game, but everyone just ungabunga meta slaves to damage skills, and it's a shame, cus there are some really dope skills that do quirky things like Archfiend, Shagaru, F. Rajang, Both Magnamalo sets etc, some quirky interesting bonus but noe one uses them cus it's less damage than just stacking Attack Boost, Crit eye, Wex and Crit boosts lol.
Sadly i HATE Redirection compare to Adept style. Adept just a dodge button to trigger and all weapons had owns draw attack as bonus. Redirection... ugh... using switch skill , thats 3 buttons and it does nothing when activate worse as you had difficulty doing attack and redirect at the moment to dodge due to attack animation.

That opening combo phew 😮💨 i need to go back to the training hall and practice 😅

Does Evade Window help with the Timing ?
This all sounds awesome but I can't counter/dodge so it's out of my talent pool 😂

This could be really helpful for gunners to get some distance from monsters too.

if this is a problem for your weapon, try using some evade extender. you'll get back to the monster in an evade or 2

this is sooooo SICK!
Do you need to activate this manually or it automatically activates? and does it have a cooldown?
Awesome :) have been waiting for that kind of skill

its an auto dodge that triggers when he's hit at the start of the initial swap. so it happens before the swap evade
@@nathansmith5738 so he’s hitting the switch skill swap buttons right as the monster is about to hit him?
@@Luckerz_- correct. just like guard points for charge blade, or the long sword's various counter moves.

Yes you can.

So Valor and Striker on steroids, with a hint of Adept and Alchemy, but its also Guild with Aerial snuck somewhere along the middle.
How is it Valor on steroids when the activation window is like .3 seconds
How to do that evade so quick?
If i perform that, the move animation when switch skill swap are very slow
I think it's part of the skill. It makes the swap animation have an evade into it if you time it with the attack. Someone correct me if I'm wrong tho.
The one on the video is a part of the skill, but you can do that dodge yourself by rolling when you swap skills
What armor is that ?
Lunagaron armor
I'd love to hear more about charge master and how much it exactly improves what it says it does and what classes as a "charge attack"
