Could you explain of asexual is a sexuality please? I asked someone before and they didn't actually tell me, because sexuality is who you're sexually attracted to nothing about your sex drive. Like a gay man is a man who likes men. So do asexuals only like other asexuals? Because I think asexuals are just folks who have a low sex drive, but please explain if this isn't the case, please, I'd love to know from an actual asexual person, how is asexual a sexuality and not just a low sex drive? 🙂
Asexual means you don't want to have sex with your partner. You still have attraction to people, you just don't have the sex drive some people do. If you're wondering how I know this, I'm an aroace myself.
I am also Ace. I can only speak for myself, as Ace is very much a spectrum. It seems to be hard for non-Ace people to understand because it appears that sexual is the forerunner of attraction for them. Attraction is different when the desire for sex isn't present. I am personally strongly attracted to people's minds...which requires communication and listening skills that seem to fall by the wayside in importance for sex-forward attraction. It is everything in a relationship for me.

On the on hand, I understand why gender reveal parties are stupid especially since they have caused literal natural disasters. On the other hand, I can't help but think of the context of the very first one of these parties.
It was a couple who had been having fertility issues and the pregnancies that did take ended in miscarriages until that one child. They literally had a gender reveal party to celebrate having a pregnancy get that far. And later, when that child came out as Trans they had another gender reveal party!
So knowing that, I'm weirdly pro gender reveal because if it changes later ypu can just throw another party. It also makes the idea of a Trans person changing their mind later down the road a bit more acceptable because it can happen with another party until you're satisfied.

I went to my nephews baby shower, and some knobhead decided it was cute to take the ultrasound printout and circle his in-utero baby penis (tO sHoW iT’s a BoY!!). And that’s when it really hit me that obsession with baby sex/gender is off the rails and ridiculously creepy. 🤮

My parents didn’t even want to find out my gender until I was out of the womb. I was raised thinking that nobody should find out the sex of the first born - which people would find so confusing now lol

I'm a cis female who had two kids, didn't find out the gender of either until they arrived. I think gender reveal parties are gross as well, but I suspect people want to find out gender, especially for the first one, makes the baby more 'real' to them, because it's such a strange new twist to one's life to be responsible for another little person. The 'celebration' of boy or girl leaves me confused though. Anyway, love the cake, love the concept, Happy Pride xx
It’s also impossible to tell someone’s gender by their sex and it just makes some people uncomfortable when they’re called gender reveal parties and not sex reveal parties.

I am so with you! I have been saying this for years! It’s not a gender reveal…it’s literally a biological sex reveal. My nephew was born biologically a female, but as he was growing up it was VERY clear he absolutely was not the female gender. Nope. Hahaha. When he was was 4 he would steal my brothers clothes, who was only a year older than him, and he would tell people his name was Matthew. It wasn’t. It was Anne. This was back in the mid 90’s. By age 20 he transitioned. He definitely was meant to be a male! We all have always been behind him 100% because we knew. So thank you for this!

When my sibling and I were born, our parents eschewed pink in favor of purple for me and green for my sib. They're both such funky non-gendered colors!
My two did yellow and green the first year. Gtbh it was mildly inconvenient only because every person we met would assume they were both boys or both girls because they were wearing similar colors. 😂
As a person in a huge family, some of the members are starting to have baby’s, most of them have been male. I’m excited to see if there will be a female baby to see how they treat it differently, just as a study. I’ll love it of course lol.

Traditionally, the colors were blue for girl and red/pink for boy but it's still wild that people gender colors, clothes, chores, etc.
Edit: Before that, blue and red/pink were just infant/children colors without gender. Blue was still seen more feminine but it was whatever.
