JBL LIVE650btnc not powering off (How to fix)

- This video explains what to do in case the JBL LIVE650btnc wireless Bluetooth headphones do not shut off anymore.
The solution to the problem is to perform a factory reset. During this process the headphones are reset and the power button is going to start functioning as usual again.
Just consider that it is necessary to pair the headphones to your smartphone again, since they forget about all previously paired devices.
This procedure may also work for other JBL headphones with a similar issue.

I had the same problem and factory reset doesn't work! What I did is I put them on my charger and they turned off immediately, now the speakers turn off properly for me...Give it a try.

The reset doesn't work with my jbl headphones. It's the same model. When I press the two volume buttons, nothing happens. My original problem is that my headphones keep turning themselves on.

@@bryceg364 After a while the issue went away on its own. I noticed twice it came back after the headphones died whilst in use. I've been turning them off and charging them before the battery dies, and this issue hasn't reoccurred. So, if/when the problem resolves itself, at least you know how to stop it happening again. 😝

For me, did the factory reset - but had to plug it into the charge plug for a moment after, then unplug and turn on and pair it again (needed to hold the on button to turn it on).
Ya I had the same issue. Blue light won't turn off. Reset method did not work. However just plugging it into the charger worked. Never would have figured it out without this video amd reading the comments so thank you and the other guy in the comments
I have LIVE650BT. Hard reset didn't work. The power connection with orange cable worked. Thanks for this video, you guys are wonderful.
My headphones are JBL TUNE660NC, and none of the ways helped me at first. I decided to try the only other thing that I had in my mind-to plug the bad boys in and see how it goes-and it worked! So another possible solution to the “the headphones do not respond and switch off” is plugging them in! Thank you for the video anyway!!!
Plugging them in - by the power USB cable or the sound cable? I tried with the power and it worked. Until I turned them on again, then they wouldn't turn off again!

Hi! You can also try this: Press Reset = + and - then your Headphone turns off after that put it on your power supply to charging. Wait a Moment and put the Cable out. After that you can turn it on and off normaly again 99%. This Clip is 1 Year old and still no Software Update fix. Well Done JBL! I bought mine last Week and it have still this Problem.

i used a cheap headphone and wont turn off after i failed to connect it to my pc (the led on he headphone is turned on). thanks to you, i got inspired by this video and tried your method but failed. but i tried to push volume up and down plus the power off simultaneously and it worked.

Got that issue with my 750btnc headphones. Having reset them more than once it did not work. Is it a part that is defunct? Or are there more such issues in the successors?
I fixed it by holding + and - for about 8 seconds simultaneously. When they started to look for a Bluetooth device I connected them with their original charging cable and unplugged them after around 10 seconds. After that I could just pair them with my phone and properly turn them off :)

hey I have a problem with my headphones, when ever I turn them off and they make the turn off sound and 15 seconds later they turn them selfs back on exept there is no nos cancellation and automatically connect back to my ipad do u know how to fix this

Plugging the headphones for charging and then unplugging has fixed my Live500bt

Hi there, the problem i have is that when I start my JBL live 650 btnc headphone, I don't hear the sound of power on anymore (power indicator is obvious and the anc indicatoris also on and working as it should be). I cannot reset them because it simply doesn't work and of course I cannot connect the headphone to any device because it doesn't show on any Bluetooth list of different phones I have tried.
I am afraid that the Bluetooth is not working anymore (P.S. the headphone is 2 months old and didn't fall or has any damage) .. any comment about that?

Yes I did. Just charge the headphone again BUT use the original cable (orange cable) that came in the box with the headphones. After it is 100% charged, switch it on and it will work. Good luck 👍

Im having a problem with my JBL Live650btnc. The active noise cancellation keeps turning on and off rapidly on its own. I tried factory resetting it and i held down the volume up and down for 5-10 seconds and it wont reset. Do you have a suggestion?

I can t turn the power on or off light is dead, Plugged them in red light was on let them charge over night got up red light is off. Did the 20 second reset and did the pairing again.

My headphones are acting real weird. Sometimes the power button turns on the noise cancelling, sometimes it will turn them off for 1 second and then they come back on, it's real weird.
I don't have the same model but I am still stuck on blue light can't connect or turn off
Pressing + and - buttons at the same time doesn't do anything, nor does it generates a beep sound as heard in the video.
Mine wouldn’t stay off, the reset didn’t work. I turned them off and immediately plugged them in to charge. They wouldn’t turn on anymore being plugged in. I unplugged them and they turn on fine and when I turn them off they now turn off perfectly fine.
One of the worst headphones in the market, i got it from USA by my sister, first day it was not pairing with the phone. It was only showing white light. It wasnt evem turning off. When i plugged it to charge it turns off. When i turn it on and hold the vol+ button then only it goes to pairing mode. Other than that vol+ and vol- does not work, as i tried several times to reset it. After few days i find out that my ANC automatically turn itself on and off. What a drag. Cant even do anything now.

That depends on the headphones model.
The problem I have is that it turns itself back on after shutting it down.
You can try to plug it in to charge. The headphones should turn off then.
