I have been scratching my heads for MONTHS of how to get a fitting in there and the fish tape was a genius idea!!! Thank you for that tip.

Top tip. For those of you that do not know. If you place some small off cuts of copper tubing into your IBCs it will absorb all the impurities in the water and keep the water clear.

I'm probably mis-understanding something, in which case, I apologise, but please can you explain how the new pipe you have put in at the bottom of the lower IBC, allow the lower IBC to vent, when the air in the lower tank will be above the water?
    Thank you for your help.

I see your point..I may need to add another fitting at the top... I'll mess with it some more in the spring and post an update...

I was thinking the same - either I’m missing something or this chap ignored physics and the fact air floats to the top of tanks first.

here is a video that shows air flow from bottom ibc ruclips.net/video/MFDEyg7PtHI/видео.html

@@willslawns yeah I get that and have seen that method before, it makes logical sense but as far as I’m aware that isn’t what the chap in this video is doing. He puts in his “breather / snorkel” at the bottom of the bottom tank.

Was just about to ask the same question. How do we know there isn't an air gap at the top of the lower IBC?

This is bad information the bottom tank is now air locked and will not fill without a vent at the top

Another person commented below on that..you are right, another fitting is needed...

Has it been working well? I’m going to install a system this week and really like the stacked option.

yes, just add a top vent to the bottom tote and tie it into the bottom if you want a level guage..and keep the clear tube out of the sun to avoid algae in it...

oh my god :D please don't suggest the pople your bad ideas and not even call it best way to join IBC...
You may connect the IBC via regular valves...all you need is to ad the one small hose from the cup of the bottom to let the air goes out and that tube needs to go up to the level of the top one.
