A fun fact is that the street sign that appears at 0:22 is translated from Greek to English as "Love Street" and the street in real life leads to a dead end. Maybe it is coincidence or someone had a twisted sense of humor.
It's just.. I dunno.. Right now or for now, that 'harsh' fact much more impressed me than Edgar Allan Poe.. I mean, 'the Edgar Allan Poe'.. A huge, filled with tears heart for both 🖤
What is it about poetry that reaches into those parts of you that you didn't even know existed, that makes you feel a way you have never felt? These videos are perfect in every way possible.
Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow - You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand - How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep - while I weep! O God! Can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?
He just understood it was all about the personal perception of reality. Those who have the capacity understand that just with relationships and love stories. The dream (your hopes) within a dream (your own perception of reality not always shared by others). But yes, as you said, extremely woke for his time. I'm still impressed by the veracity of these great writters. All of them loners, ecluding themselves from the society because of that curse of vision. The 3rd eye...
Is it just me or does Edgar Allan Poe's work hit different??? When I was first introduced to his work, I was confused but in awe with his wording and subtle indication. Btw the narrator is absolutely amazing. Keep doing what you do.💗👌
I feel like if Edgar Allan Poe was still alive, he would absolutely LOVE this! Thank you so much for giving me a sense of relief and warmth while im completely drowned in my exams
This is one of my favorites works of Poe. Thank you for embellishing it with pleasing visuals and sounds. Really appreciate the thought put and the creative process for making these in perfect harmony with the poems.
I love the quote "you are not wrong. Who deem that my days have been a dream" that's my favorite line from this poem. Also I've never heard this poem so thanks for another great one illneas keep up the good work. :)
Filming those small moments, that are as expressive as the poem, is a dream within a dream. maybe everything so beautiful and personal is a dream within a dream because it comes straight from the soul: intact and simple yet so elaborated and complex. And what is a dream without the dreamer?
What is the dreamer without the one who created him or her? If the dreams are so elaborate and the dreamer so complex, who is the designer of all of this order, of the dream of the dreamer in the dream that is life?
You’re turning me inti a poetry fan! The part about the sand at the end makes me think of someone trying to hold on to something and realizing change is inevitable. Asking if it’s all a dream with in a dream is like a question of if anything matter, if it all slips away in the end.
I do not want to believe that this deep philosophy emerged from a melancholic deep sadness, even though I have listened and read it thousands of times. "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream" is a quote never forgetting unless a dream within a dream.
A TEAR IN THE SEA An English Quintain By PHILIP KENT CHURCH ~ When I think of all that’s real - my life seems so small, Like dust trapped in Sunbeams - the years float, then flee. So where am I in the deal - where’s destiny’s call? When I think of my dreams - all that may, or never be, All my life really seems - just like a tear in the sea.
I have not been thus acquainted with something so beautiful in a long time. Such a work of art touches the deepest parts of the soul, and create a ripple in you like an echo calling out for more. Never stop, this is the beauty that's hidden in the world. Like a precious gem waiting to be unearthed. You deserve to be seen and heard!💖
I'm listening to a poem by Edgar Allan Poe for the first time and which caught my attention is your presentation.. Now I'm really moved by this.. Thank you so much.
Edgar Allan poetry has been my favorite since high school and I'm 46 now. I feel a kindred spirit and also same desire to write similar dark tales, fantasies, tragedies etc.
Like everyone these days thinking about life in this Not Normal , not new existence of life. These are strange days not new but sadder now. I listen to music on youtube great source of comfort. Your site found me Alone is my poem. Poe wrote it for all of us. I remember reading it my God 55 yrs ago thinking he knows how I feel, who I am, now who we all are. I loved the music and it being read it was a Dream within a Dream. Life really is a circle I'm 69 now I listened to Sean Lennon sing Isolation hard to grasp he's 45 that was a mind FUK n blower. Thank you, what a beautiful surprise words and music together gonna look up Wolfpack. Love to all you've made a new old lady happy . Poe would love it, I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this. Peace is yours.
I really love that you can hear the almost desperation in the voice to be able to make some sort of difference, some sort of longing for this to be more than "a vision." At the end, that is, and at least how I interpret it. Thank you. A beautiful reading.
Im new to this poetry stuff and its completely sucked me in. I cant stop going through these poems. Iv developed such a joy for poems and writing in such a short amount of time its almost terrifying but im not afraid. I just love this shit now
I seem unable to watch any of these poetry videos without breaking down at the minute. I guess some of the words just really, really hit home. Is it possible to be having a mid-life crisis at 31? My thoughts and emotions are all over the place at the minute. The videography and voice-over really are top quality as well. I'm blown away by how perfect your videos are.
this is melancholically beautiful. thank You so much for subtitles in Your videos so i can better understand what narrator is talking (english is not my first language) :).
The lines of this poem came back to me suddenly while falling asleep last night. I couldn't even remember where they'd come from even though I love Poe's works. They struck such a cord in me, in my mind that's been struggling and barely coping with what this year has brought. I don't know what this feeling is that it's brought, this poem, but I think it's a good thing that I remembered it now.
Came across this beautiful and intriguing poem yesterday and have stumbled upon such an equally brilliant enunciation of it the very following day. Bliss it is.
Let me say Thank you then to share this video..it is just 2 minutes video.....but you find the right clips to sync well with the words💖 Have a good weekend buddy💖
I'm not sorry to bore you with this, but again the music and the poem is beautifully in sync. And the way you put the original sound of the video (water sound), is clever. I don't read Poe enough, but for me this poem is like the surreality of reality and the realness of dreams that merge together, and that's why sometimes it can be confusing to be perceived-which one is which? Another wonderful work, thank you 💙
... I see the tormented shore as Poe's vision of Life, the surf (waves) as each Day and the golden sands as grains in an hourglass (Time) that flow down inexorably to the final grain ... a sad life indeed
Two minutes of human connection can be valued as infinitely more precious than what we give credit to time as we understand it. Two minutes for one can become an eternity or as fleeting as nothing but a moment, whereas for another, two minutes can become a pleasant exchange of thoughts and understandings. Thank you for sharing your two minutes. And yes, I took the time to read your description. 😈😀😇 Happy New Years!!! 🎆✨🎇

He's my favourite writer too, i love his stories so much especially "a decent into the maelstrom"
@@darkspearepsych Thanks for the recommendation 🙂
Mah fav too!!
james ken. I love Bukowski too but I still prefer Poe. I think it’s all down to personal choice tho
My favourite is " the raven" i love the way its written.
He’s such an emotional writer. Like he’s literally crying out to God for the answer. It shows how hopeless he feels, it’s very beautiful.
