Never Say Never Again 1983 *** 7 October 1983 *** 7 October 2023 *** 40 years! It's a very good James Bond film! And I absolutely love-love-love Sean Connery in this movie!
"alright, we created a perfect car crash that shows no evidence of foul play, now lets add a bunch of explosives residue to give investigators a fair shot at catching us"
BOND: A man DID try to kill me, sir. M: OH! Caught you seducing his wife, did he?! BOND: No, sir, not at all. But, in fact, I lost 4 lbs. And God knows how many free radicals. M: THAT IS THE KIND OF ATTITUDE THAT TEMPTS ME TO SUSPEND YOU, 007! *Edward Fox might not be the best M (plus this is an unofficial Bond film anyway), but he sure cracks me up in this scene.*
Hail to the Glorious W-80. A warhead you can rely on and you can take with you under your blanket or decorate your room. Sure you can cuddle with it, pet it.
Quite a coup to land the director of The Empire Strikes Back for your unofficial Bond film! Proved a safe pair of hands too, staging action, effects and quieter drama with aplomb as well as an unexpectedly dry wit.
@@rocksparadox The scene at 3:14 is concorde, in the one after that, it switches to said model. Interestingly, the exact Concorde used is likely G-AXDN, given the engines don't have reverser buckets.
Who is the actor playing the character doing the eyeprint scan scene please anyone? The reason I'm intrigued is he looks the spitting image of Allan Cuthbertson from The Sea Wolves, Fawlty Towers ( Colonel Hall) Guns of Navarone etc - always played military types and yet his resume shows its not him... They are so alike it is utterly bizarre... Anyone else noticed?
I've discovered it's Gavan O Herlihy who passed away in 2021... The resemblance it uncanny in this film in particular but elsewhere too. Separated at birth?
He played brad the bully in superman 3 and leader of a gang in deathwish 3, i found it extremely disturbing when fatima rips his eye babdage off and begins punching and pummeling him with punches and chops
A python doesn't actually bite you. It squeezes you to death. But only if it is trying to eat you later. Anecdotally I have heard they need to measure you for size first. As for the running around unescorted my brother was in Air Force Junior ROTC at the time and surmised. If you have business they leave you alone and leave you to do it without asking questions.
Actually, both films are great! I think "Hijacking a Vulcan bomber"(Thunderball 1965) & "Stealing 2 thermonuclear warheads"(NSNA 1983) are both perfectly staged tense scenes! And although NSNA(1983) is a pretty funny movie, it has a serious Cold War vibe though. NSNA(1983), for me, is a much better movie than DAF(1971), LALD(1973), TMWTGG(1974) and all Daniel Craig movies! ***** Sean Connery: what a charming gentleman agent in NSNA, even at the age of 53! Actually, I like older Roger Moore too(Octopussy, AVTAK)! Great joke in NSNA: "Well, to be perfectly honest, there was this girl in Philadelphia!".
I always notice actors and their way long, non-regulation haircuts and plenty of gigs for their uniforms. A permanent gift imparted to me from the regulation obsessed Army along with half-expecting a drill sergeant to chew me out for walking on grass or having my hands in my pockets after 20 years out.
are you kidding? Thunderball is a glorified childrens, You only live twice is even dumber, and diamonds are forever is somehow dumber than that. hurrr durr, not up to the IMPECIBLE standards of seriousness of bond movies hurr durr
Excellent movie the fatima blush kills an innocent women before bond gets home beats the soldier up viscously and rips his eye bandage of which is still bulging from the operation her thick deep voice matched with her hostility is excellent ,the health clinic fight with the guy from raiders of the list ark along with the paitents watching a boxi g match they fight is excellent
"Have a nice day" 😄😄😄😄

That was a crazy car crash because of the snake 🐍

Or getting stolen by SPECTRE in this instance.

That B1 bomber looks bad ass
That's a B-1B. The B-1A was even more badass, it was larger and faster.

No hats on the flight line.!
I don’t think the USAF would even permit the use of a B-1 bomber during the AGM-86 loading scene.
Poor old Petacchi
It's still better than the entire Craig franchise, not that it's saying much❤️
"Put them on ice"
"A man did try to kill me, sir."

😂🤣😂🤣
All this over two cruel mistresses.

Just walk around with a clipboard.
They guy driving didn't know that. He just knew a big snake was thrown into his lap and panicked.
Is it wrong that I like this more than Thunderball?

Bond movies doesn't necessarily need to be good, just entertaining.

The Disappearance of Chuck Cunningham is finally solved.

Well directed off the grid James bond movie. I believe Irving kursher (empire strikes back) directed this.
Appropriately at the time the U.S. and USSR had fingers on the nuke button..
A bit like today, 40 odd years later.
She could have just thrown the bomb into the car instead of throwing the snake retrieving the snake, and using the bomb...
When AGM-86s were easily stolen.
Anyone else notice his uniform jacket sleeves look too short?
They don't allow that anymore. Throwing snakes from car to car. Animal action and all that.
😂😂
Angst ?
How can you tell this is fake ?.
An american military that doesn't want to use a nuke.

This is why this is not a Bond film. Edward Fox's M is like a parody character, and the soundtrack sounds cartoonish.

Such a shoddy, slapdash mess ofa movie. Total wasted opportunity. And don't get me strarted on the music.
I liked it. It was directed by the guy who directed empire strikes back. Its definitely not an eon production. . I liked this better than octopussy
