This is what i woke up to every Saturday morning ever since i came across this Chanel very Informative and Entertaining should be a program on Tv Thanks Matt
I love when people defeat the supply chain issue by showing self reliance. "Balls up kingfish"❗
That half finished job that became another half finished job look on your face was priceless. Quinesental hands on farmer.
You have a cat D11 with a single shank ripper dancing on it's toes trying to rip I would say that is hard ground lol.
Good job getting other things ready for work.
Love watching those big girls ( D11's) do work. Cool video 😎😎
Love watching those 11's work!
The slack in the dozer track is very telling.
Hi Matt ... 😁"Brads a bit rattled so I'm going to take over for a while so he can unrattle" 😁.... thats just an excuse for you to have a play on a toy ... penalty for playing on toy .. weed the pea patch 😁 ... shoulda named the video "THE LONELY WINDMILL" .... enjoyed the battery box music too ... ☺👍
Haha exactly👍
Loving the intro matt especially the drone fly over of tiny 1 an 2 pushing
Damn I enjoy your Vids Matt! Just came in from making up a drawbar for my little toy tractor and a ripper. Wanting to plant a row of hedges along the fence line to give us some privacy . With a few mods, some learning and some real ugly welds, it worked better than I hoped. Next I'll go fab up a wider blade to make the job a bit faster now the main part is broken up and make a trench for planting the shrubs.
I thought the dry packed clay I have was a bit tough but nothing like in that gravel pit. Would not have imagined the friction could be so great as to get that ripper point so hot. There is some energy being imparted to get that amount of metal that warm. Great vid as always mate. The different things you show give one an appreciation for life on the land and the jumping around as you have put it makes for very interesting Vids. Don't change anything you are doing Matt, you have it spot on already.
Thanks mate, really appreciate it👍. We used tiny one to break up the hard ground when we planted our hedge, worked a treat😂.
Great job building the battery tray Matt
A bad day for you would be a great day for me work wise. Don't be too hard on yourselves and keep up the good work. Great video!
Loved your videos. Down to earth commentary. Thank you. Keep it going.
Hey Matt the old Chamberlain needs a bit of TLC . A job for a rainy day looks like it could use your talents to have a rewire 👍😜
If that job comes up I think I’ll pretend i have forgotten how😂
Love watching your dozers❤👍
Hey Matty, I know how farmers love to keep all the machines over the years and was wondering if you could do a Vlog on all the old equipment you guys have around that your dad or grandad used to use. The old chamberlain of your dads was great to see. I live next to the ocean in southwest Victoria so stuff rusts away overnight down this way but up there it seems to live on. Love ya Vlogs and they way you explain things. Greats stuff Matt 👌👌
Thanks mate, yep there is a bit of old gear about, the old man and his dad came up here 40yrs ago from Victoria so there isn’t really any of the really old stuff but still interesting👍😁
@@thejacksonbrothers Ahh bummer, I thought it might of been a 4-5 generation farm but yeah the old stuff is always cool to see and even better when it has a story to tell.
Matt, John Deere acquired Chamberlain in 1970, that was when they went from orange to yellow. Yellow is between orange and green on the colour spectrum but I don’t know if that had anything to do with the choice. John Deere had very little dealer presence in Australia till then and as Chamberlain had dealerships everywhere it was a good decision for JD.
Your 4480 has long guards (an early one) and the batteries under the floor which is a much better place than under the seat where they were on the earlier ones. The under floor battery boxes could be retro-fitted, but if they are original I would say it was built about 1979.
Being able to cook eggs on the ripper points would be handy sometimes I suppose. Jeff
Great video Matt
Great vídeo.
Good old tractors the 80 series chamberlains I have a 4280 nice old tractor they certainly don't make them like they used to
Awesome video mate 👍🏻
That's and ancient riverbed or lahar from an old volcanic event.
You guys should be in gold country with that equipment.
Awsome, thanks.
HAHA I would LOVE to know the story behind why that tap and die set says BRAD ONLY on it :D
I think the rest of us broke too many taps😳
G'day Matt great video mate
Thanks mate👍
Howdy Murphy. I hope all is well with you. Things are good on my side of the world.
@@scruffy6151 G'day Scruffy we are getting there mate. How are you going up there
Well done on 20k subscribers!
Howdy fellas, I work for an earthmoving contractor we have a D11 that is going through a ripper boot and shin in 3Hrs !! Have to change 3/4 a day
Wow!!
conglomerate gravel they call it. every time I've ever come across it its always as hard as buggery
It makes the best road material and last s for years
Have u ever thought of putting counter weights on the ripper they make a huge difference when ripping hard material makes them a completely different machine
Hi Matt another great video, I enjoy hearing the sounds in the background with the birds etc, I never really see any roo’s in your videos have they all been eaten?
Thanks Daryl! The roos haven’t been as bad this year thankfully but they are still around👍
Rock on ✌️👌❤️
Hopefully you find gold, while you are out there scratching around.
Was the windmill over a bore or a well? Tough digging for whoever sank that back in the day.
You're breaking up conglomerate. It's where gold can be found and also is mined to make CONCRETE.
I reckon the old windmill in the gravel pit would be feeling a bit nervous. 😬
The law of unintended consequences.lol
At 1:47 I thought it was your dad talking 😂
Your channel popped up and I hit subscribe. Great content. How big is your farm?? Just curious, take care greeting from Michigan USA
Thanks Greg, We are currently farming about 5000acres
@@thejacksonbrothers that will keep you busy for a bit. Thanks for responding with the answer about your farm. Take care and be safe.
Greg
Do you have long lead times for spare parts ? Or do you carry lots of spares ?
You need to watch @cutting edge engineering for some machining pointers.
Curtis is one of the best I’ve seen on RUclips.
That look's more like impact hammer on the Excavator work, D11 might be quicker, but why kill it.
So what does a D11 push. 20 m3 or two 10m3 tipper loads at a time? Wish i had good gravel like that.
Hi John, i think they push about 33 m3, yep it was nice gravel but hard work😁
What dozer is doing better in the ripping?
Obviously both struggling but interested if the multi shank was any benefit vers single shank
Hi Michael, the single ripper is better in the hard stuff👍
It's great stuff silcrete, single ripper is the go for breaking it up. I operate a D11 for a living and sometimes in the push we can be breaking up siltcrete for hours and hours on end. Any reason why you're not using full power ripping?
Hi mate, it’s hard work💪 that’s for sure, the dozers were pretty well at full power, the 3508’s just don’t sound like they are haha👍😁
@@thejacksonbrothers I must admit I love the sound compared to the C32. Keep up the good work, love the content 🤘
resistant ryegrass its everywhere :(
Just found your channel Mate ... a "Texan" that used to be responsible for all the F-35 work done in Australia. Just a friendly comment ... truly meant to help not hurt ... when drilling out the ID of the Pulley, PLEASE use a lubricant of some type. Not just for longevity of the bit but what you've basically done by this operation is to anneal the bearing surface ... and that's not good ... she'll wear out much, much faster at that juncture.
As to attempting to Rip that Sedimentary Rock Formation is a Fool's errand. Take a note on how Andrew did it ... bit more "Time" and money but in the end you come out ahead IMHO. Subscribed ~~~ great stuff !!!

Hi Craig, Thanks for your expertise! Our coolant pump broke on the lathe so we are using a bottle of cutting fluid that we put on before we start cutting👍😁 we don’t do a lot of ripping rock so we persevere😂
Those d11 barely look like there working. They need to be 100% wide open all day long.
Lol if you think that’s rough you wouldn’t last in blue rock
