It’s more than fair besides Kareem hunt, Mahomes has never really had a solid running game as much as I love Pacheco. He rarely breaks out for more than 10 or 12 yards.
Chiefs have struggled the past couple of years with picking up 3rd and short. If we can have this guy help with that, that is really going to help keep the offense rolling.
@@adamburckhartt4919 Nah, most teams are starting to adapt to 2 RBs and splitting the carries to keep them both healthy. Unless the team is dropping big money, 2 is the way to go

Great video and thanks for going into such a detailed evaluation of Carson Steele. I'm a lifetime Chiefs fan and have never seen the team have a run like they have since Mahomes came to town. And this year with the Chiefs having a chance to make history with the first 3-peat they have an even better team in my humble opinion than we did the last 2 seasons when they won the Super Bowl. GO STEELE, GO CHIEFS!!
He’s been a baller since HS. Running over people and carrying defenders. Played at HS my kids went to. He graduated 2 years ahead of my daughter. Was Indiana Mr Football his Sr year. Not surprised by his success at all.
You’re thinking of Charlie Spegal he transferred from Delta to New Pal. He then went to Indiana for 3 years (1 redshirt)and is in his second season now at Ball State
He reminds me of Kareem Hunt, the way he sheds tackles with powerful balance and smart angles. Hunt and Mahomes was an OP combo in Patrick's first season starting.
The runs that he did in the game reminded me of the great Emmit Smith. He is going to be something to watch. I'm excited for him and hope they give him a lot of gameplay!
If he can get those three and short problems out of the way, he'll be a saint in KC. That would be icing on an already sweet cake. I look forward to seeing him in those short situations.
Good Stuff ! We haven't had a power guy like Steele since Christian Okoye ! Love Steele's stiff arm he uses also ! Week 3 and Pacheco is out so it looks like Steele will get some carries vs the Falcons this Sunday Night !
Thank god he is using his hands well and not just soaking up hits like a lot of bigger backs. Hopefully this can translate to a full season. Looks like an every down back.
Yeah Mattydubs, this guy Steele IS DIFFERENT! And it is more of a nightmare with opposing defenses having to worry about Brown, Xavier, Rice, and Kelce!
Exactly him and Pacheco are deadly because this is what people don't understand. Brett veach knows what he is doing and for Andy Reid coaching finding ways for them to succeed Pacheco don't need to run heavy because they will be so much space he will save his energy for the playoffs. Brett veach and Andy Reid looks at the future bringing young players who will get better every here.
Any rugby fan who has followed LRZ would have told chiefs fans he is not a running back. He never played a running back style in rugby. There are just so many rugby players better than LRZ - at rugby and any position in NFL given a chance but none of them are switching sports. It is mostly the Welsh or British rugby fans pushing the LRZ hype...real rugby fans outside of the UK who know the sport could tell you he is overated.

This is the year to have him as an anomaly. He will be impactful for sure. Teams eventually adjust late or after a season like they did with Hill but we will get the 3peat by then. Between Worthy, Kelce and Steele/Pacheco they can’t double team enough people to cover the big hitters. Giving us a 3rd and short hammer and him in the backfield will force teams to commit to the run and open up check downs. Should be an interesting year.
I told everyone when we first saw him that he was going to be a good football player. He can get those tough yards for us that some of the running backs can’t get when we really need it. Just put the steel man in.
