Usually, normal filipino family mostly gives gifts only by The Christmas Day (Dec.25). And those who can afford meaning with plenty of money can give gifts on New Year’s day (January 1) and those who have more plenty of money the giving gifts extended until January 6. So it depends actually on the family’s income.
It’s okay when you feel hungry you can eat anytime you want. The Noche Buena eating time is normally just for those who are only awake or to those who following the traditions. But to the normal family meaning those who really cannot afford to have so much food, being awake at 12 midnight is already a blessing.
When ber months (September, October, November and December) comes in The Philippines were are excited to listen Christmas songs. Hope to listen some Philippine Christmas songs.
In the Philippines, Epiphany is known as "Three Kings' Day" and Pasko ng Matatanda ("Feast of the Elderly"), and marks the official close of the country's Christmas season. As a day of feasting, some Filipinos celebrate with gift-giving and greet each other "Happy Three Kings! In the Dominican Republic, the Día de los Tres Reyes Magos (The day of the Three Royal Magi) and in this day children receive gifts on the christmas tree in a similar fashion to Christmas day. On this day public areas are very active with children accompanied by their parents trying out their new toys.
We only give Christmas gifts nothing for new year and three kings but we have midnight meals both Christmas eve and new years eve. We actually start dinner both for Christmas and New Years eve at 7:00 pm up to midnight and beyond.
In our family growing up. We have an Uncle who cooks so well that when we have family gathering he cooks for us. Then when we eat. All the women and children eats first, then the adults ( men and women) converse while the women and children eats. Then after they eat the men eats.
Hola Sol & Luna! Ohh your Mami is so Gwapa! Just like you two!😊 i can feel you're starving and waiting the noche buena food until midnight.. Midnight is everything eating and opening gifts.❤😊
Traditionally, families attend the Misa de Aguinaldo or Christmas midnight mass. After going home, they partake of the noche buena feast and exchange gifts thereafter.
Noche Buena is on Christmas Eve. There's a separate festivity called Media Noche and that is on New Year's Eve, Decmber 31st. We also feast on that day.
What a kind and generous family who invited you to experience our family tradition during christmas. It's going to be a lasting happy and sweet moment to remember as time goes by when you get back to your country! 🥰👍 Merry christmas beauty twins Sol & Luna and a happy, prosperous new year too🎄🎁..for sure you're going to spend this too here in my country! Nice knowing you both even in your vlog..keep safe always..Godbless!😘❤
Experiencing a real Filipino Christmas home celebration was the most genuine thing they did. Looking forward to more content like this, hopefully on New Year's Eve too. 😘
I’m glad you got to experience Noche Buena in the Philippines. Cheers to Gab for the preparation and invitation. That’s so kind! In my family, Noche Buena is the whole night on the 24th, not just late to midnight. As soon as the sun goes down, we start feasting right away (which is around 5pm). I don’t know if that’s more of a western influence (since we live in Canada) or if my family is just impatient to start eating LOL 😂 I don’t think I could wait until 10pm to eat.
*I could feel it when you were saying you were glad you got invited to the house for Xmas because you had no where to go being the first time in PH for Xmas. So fun to see you turn to little girls for a short while just being there. Merry Christmas girls*
Most of the time gift giving and receiving on Christmas Eve or Christmas day and on new year we have our manito y manita or some on Christmas Eve too. On three kings I don't remember I received a gift but we attend mass
Graham doesn't need to be baked because the crackers or biscuits are bought ready-made. You will just arrange them in alternating layers along with the ripe mangoes, condensed milk, and whipped cream, then topped with crushed graham. That's a wonderful Noche Buena, ladies❤️😉👍
It's a tradition for those who have money to buy gifts, but generally, gifts under the Christmas tree are not Filipino tradition. Noche Buena, however, is a Filipino tradition.
Actually, christmas is celebrated basically with the local tradition. Then the difference in each household is that it could either have the added influence of the American tradition, or the Spanish, or the CHINESE, or a mix of 2, or all 3, but usually done in the Filipino way.
Belated Blessed Christmas to you, Ladies. Sorry late views hete. Been having a busy schedule this holiday. Lots of get together and family reunion events happening. I am glad you spent your Christmas with a Filipino family there. Noche Buena is for Family Day together praying and eating together while welcoming the day break of tge 25th. May God bless you more, especially in the coming New Year. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Merry Chritstmas Sol and Luna! I'm glad you had a family to celebrate it with. when I was younger, our parents would make us sleep early and wake us up before 12am , we would eat noche buena then open gifts and get our socks which were hanged by the window a few weeks before christmas. But later on they changed it because us kids were really sleepy we could not eat. We had games and dinner earlier then open our gifts at 12 am.
That's my brother! That's the home we grew up in and I haven't seen him in years. Yikes! The house is so run down. Only met my nephews once when they were little kids. At least I got to see them... Thanks for featuring this.
Most latinos that are catolico romano will pass out gifts at midnight...then we open right after the gifts are passed out if you like too...we do eat dinner like 9 pm and we do eat roasted Ham as well..then mingle until the media noche...like sent..saludos, Mabuhay from Chicago USA!! Have a Blessed upcoming New Year!
Usually we have normal dinner on the 24th. Then after the Christmas Eve Mass, we have Noche Buena. Our menu is just Pinoy Spaghetti, Excelente Ham, Marca Pato Edam Cheese, Fruit Salad, Cake, Bread, Red Wine.
Philippines is heavily mixed of cultures. We are Catholic yet Americanized. I know some orthodox Christian Filipinos who celebrate Christmas on January 6 instead of Dec 25.
True! All men in my family know how to cook..my grandpa, my father and all three brothers and they cook more delicious than us women! That's because they focus on what they're cooking while leaving the mesh in the kitchen for us to clean..lol!😅🤣
@@carmelitafloirendo26 my tatay(father) (deceased) is the one cooking for us (family) and he cooks better than my nanay (mother)😬 i miss the food he prepares😐🥴
Im sorry to tell this but when you eat especially in dinning you must take off your cap or hut, that's the way you respect the grace from god. Because food is a blessing...😊
Sol and Luna is Santa Claus a woman? I ask this because when we talk of Santa it's a woman. If it's a man we call it Santo. In the Philippines we celebrate noche buena at midnight of dec 24 and media noche at midnight of dec 31.
