  • Bit of a long one here. The rebuild is coming along nicely, but I ran into a snag. My clutch lever was impossible (nearly) to pull in. I noticed each time that I started it, the front sprocket would turn, even though the bike was in neutral. I didn't think much of it until I got a chain on it and realized the transmission was junked up.
I started troubleshooting at the lever and cable, to make sure they weren't snagging or seized. The clutch armature moved freely and the clutch rod was straight and clean. This meant that I had to tear into the clutch itself. This project was not without it's problems (none are, am I right?). Anyway, the clutch plates are cleaned off and then reassembled with a new home made gasket.
PS - This is my first clutch repair and I am doing this on the fly here. This starts out a bit scripted, but I got over that real quick and learned as I went.
