Gotta say, out of every "How to paint IW" the result in yours looks the most fitting for the Legion. The others have something off about them in one detail or the other, but yours is just great
Iron within! I love me some Iron Warriors. They are the peak of being bitter about the past and just own that gritty aesthetic. The pencil trick is very handy for the hazard strikes. Those are the one thing about the Iron Warriors that can make them hard to do.
Greatest iron warriors scheme I've seen. Really captures how I envision the legion. Very easy to follow too thank you. Never thought of a brown undercoat. Like you said makes the metal warmer.
Watched so many tutorials on these guys. This is the most easy to understand method with by far the best outcome 👍. Definitely the route I'm going to go.
From the first time I saw the MK II I tought of them as guys just got out from some steampunk anime. And how you 've (wonderfully) painted them it seems I was right.
Those hazard stripes can also be placed on slightly different areas, between different models. As if to imply that while they all share colors, each individual personalizes them to a certain extent. Just for the sake of standing out. This is also true of one's army, as it can break up what might be a largely uniform sea of models. It's more interesting the paint, as well, though this might make it take longer to paint.
I am going to try this. I have just started out with a HH army and chose the IW. Not painted any of them as of yet. I dont have a brown primer... will chaos black do the trick as well? Great video! :) Simple and really easy to follow.
Can’t wait to try the pencil technique, however a matte varnish removes the shine from metallics and they just end up looking flat at best and just grey at worst. Metallic paint is stronger than non metallic so you don’t really have to varnish it
Great tutorial, thank you! Have you ever thought of maybe doing a painting tutorial on the Mantic Games Kings of War Abyssal Dwarf Obsidian Lesser Golems?

YES!!! Finally as I start my truescale Iron Warriors for HH2.0 you drop the Iron Warrior Guide. Perfect timing mate!
I'm getting pretty good at inadvertently lining up with people's projects! 🤣
Bro this is really REALLY helpful for making iron warriors.

This looks just great! I think the dust and rust adds a lot to the model and gives it a worn look. Thanks for sharing this.
This is such a clean and efficient method.
Perfect 👍 just about to start painting my iron warriors. Really like the rust effect
What an amazing result in those few quick steps! :>
Iron Warriors are a wonderful Legion for painting quickly and adding juuust the handful of little extras you want to really make them shine. :D
That's a great idea to use a pencil for guidelines, thanks mate!
Something something slings and arrows
i tried this scheme and it looks very epic thank you for this video
Looks fantastic!

Perfect I love grunge metal.
Super cool
2B or not 2B. Excellent.
I wonder if using a white pencil to do lightning on Night Lords is the way for those of us who have trouble using the brush.
Now that's a thought... Might have to give that a shot myself!
if youre confused about which part of a body is which, theres a song called, heads, shoulders, knees and toes. :P

awesome video as always (l)
I've been saying retributor wrong this entire time?!
Nifty idea for the stripes, though I'm pretty sure I would get the angles off between sections! 😂
The eraser on the butt works on painted surfaces too, I swear! ;D They don't need to be perfectly straight to give you decent guides to paint from.
Purty would be proud, probably.
Maybe only one in 20 for decimation this month.
I really like it before You added the rust. Really nice! Iron Witin! Iron Without!
I had to pause to admire the hole in the gun barrel...what is the secret?
3D printing. 😅
I think you’ll find that pencil joke is a classic rather than daft

Amazing paintjob, new to heresy and that armor looks a bit different. What model is that?
It's a MkII-styled Crusade armour. Supposedly the most common mark of power armour at the outset of the Great Crusade!

Okay gotta know where you managed to get a mark 2 model from. I can't find them anywhere
Is it a paid or free stl ?
Edit: nvm found it
Can you point us in the direction of this model?
Great video as always! Would you ever plan on doing any Halo miniatures like ODST’s?
do those exist? I would love me some proper halo miniatures especially if they had the halo 3 or reach art style. "I do not own a 3d printer either"
How did you paint the base?
Might want to check the description! ;D
Im Sold!
