Thanks! I think this review will be very helpful to those in the market for a travel instrument, as long as you aren't flying! Even though this would fit in many overhead spaces it is not going to pass the "basket test" at the gate..at least in Europe.
Yes I flied with Ryenair and I checked this guitar in. Also I think this is more robust then other instruments so it is more difficult to break it. So one more positivity to travel with this:)
Köszi a videót!
En is ugy gyakorolok a szomszedok miatt.
Thank you for the review. These little guitars appeal to me, and I have thought about buying one in the past, but hesitated because I couldn't imagine how to play without the support of the body, especially the right arm (I play mainly classical)-so this information was very interesting and helpful. I'll know to plan on getting a strap if I get one. By the way, that flamenco sample you played near the end sounds amazingly good, despite the limitations!
The flamenco piece is a farruca. You can find many examples of it around the web. The basic form is easy to get to grips with and from there it can get annoyingly complex. As always with flamenco. :-D
Very nice review Edina, I'm sure the other pilgrims and backpackers are delighted with your music. I had a look online and could see the guitar is selling for $319 USD. Happy travels
Hi Edina -- I have a Soloette, which has a frame that makes it feel a lot like a real classical guitar when it is being played. It is silent, but can be played with headphones. Of course, it has no real soundboard, so any kind of golpes are out of the question. But it disassembles very easily and could be put in a backpack. Nice review of the Martin!
Few years ago I was looking to buy a tavel guitar and I found it too expensive and also the body of the guitar does not allow any tapping.Evntually,I chose washburn rover which cost only £145
While this is generally true, remember this guitar was designed to be a robust backpacker designed for steel strings. As far as I know, the only differences bergen this and the steel string are the width of the fretboard. She has a newer model with the addition of a noadjustable truss rod and wider body... that we 2002... for both steel and nylon.
The Spanish Guitar Hub Maybe it's better to say "comfortably". Just so you don't have to wear a strap or hold it weird. A parlor is maybe too small as well.
The Spanish Guitar Hub i like steel but when i received from another person he used nylon.. but my question is. all backpackers can use (by the construction) steel strings? there is a little text, "the classic backpacker" 'use extra light strings only' thanks fpr take the time to answer.
The Spanish Guitar Hub i forget to say that in this moment it has nylon , but honestly, i dont like so much nylon sound but i dont know if the guitar is damaged if i use steel strings ...
I would not recommend to use steel string. Maybe you could get the steel string version. That guitar is designed for classical neck, the steel string design is different. I am not sure if this would work.
Hello, Edina... Where are you? You already arrived at Santiago? I miss you playing the guitar ... Unforgettable night at Fernanda's house ... :-) Bom Caminho... Huge Kiss
What I mean to say is that unless travel (backpacking or not) is local there is not a guitar that will fit into what many airlines consider to be carry-on. Of course this has nothing to do with this guitar, but everything to do with travelling with a musical instrument larger than a harmonica! :))
Ah ok, yes I know. But Easyjet lets you travel and the non-budget airlines. Well lets hope it changes and we can travel freely everywhere with our instruments. Take care my friend. x

I love that little guitar. I’m going to get one.
Thank you so much, charming lady. It was very interesting and informative.

Hey beautiful! You make that baby sing! The nylon strings sound so much better than the steel string.

for classical it should be fine, and it comes with a strap! x

Yes most pilgrims were really happy when I played. Wow it is quite cheap!
Street value 200Usd
It doesn’t sound terrible. I’m considering one of these.
Go ahead! I still use it when I am backpacking
Your smile is so amazing 😊😊😊
Bueno Camino! I walked the camino in 2013!
+Mel Black it is amazing! We should do it every year.

Thanks, I really wanted something with a soundboard though because i wanted to play for people. But I am sure that one is a great alternative too!
Hope you're having a great time!
lovely Edina enjoy your time,,,,,
Thanks it is amazing
adheena its amazing
I feel the timbre of this guitar model a little sharp, although in your interpretation it feels very nice. Thank you
Cheers from Mexico. I've got one too.
The serial number has in code the date and place of construction, but you need an online decoder or know the language of the label.
Sr. Cordura Pony Hi where are you living in mexico I'm from Guadalajara and i want to buy one of this. Where I can get it?
+Elias Reyes I live in the U.K. and I ordered this from the USA. It is practical if you go hiking. Maybe check eBay?
Thanks bro

+Rye I need to have a look at that one!
why is the 6th string so loose
Can we switch strings from Nylon to Steel
Do not recommend
Guitars designed for nylon strings should NEVER be strung with steel strings. The body and neck are not strong enough to accommodate them.

Are parlor guitars better for holding correctly?
What do you mean of correctly?
The Spanish Guitar Hub Maybe it's better to say "comfortably". Just so you don't have to wear a strap or hold it weird. A parlor is maybe too small as well.
Great Edina
you said you are a guitarist but couldn't play without making a mistake. Is the guitar that bad?
Yes. See my other videos lol
Hi, did you lower the action of your strings? When you played, the tension of the strings seemed light/soft.
+tonex nope. This is original action.
Hello, it was probably an effect of the cameras frame rate and string vibration.
You sound Hungarian. Are you? Lovely guitar... I had a steel string one... I wanna get the nylon one.
Yes I am!
Hi Edina, how i could know if my backpacker needs nylon or steel strings?
Do you play nylon or steel string guitar?

Do you have any other videos with this guitar.
Not really, why? :)
I only use it when I go hiking, for the reasons I said.
cool 👍👍
Just sand down the bridge a little a bit.
Hello, Edina... Where are you? You already arrived at Santiago? I miss you playing the guitar ... Unforgettable night at Fernanda's house ... :-) Bom Caminho... Huge Kiss
+Manuel Pinto yes it was amazing! Tomorrow I arrive to Santiago! Big love to the crew of Casa Fernanda x
:-)
...or you can backpack and train/bus all the way to wherever is the nice backpacking! :((
+gtrrr101 but I am on a hiking journey. So no train and no bus

Unfortunately.. while it "is" a guitar! :) ... it will not help with "Flamenco/Rumba" style :(. No area to slap it on!
Ed sheeran can slap.
You are beautiful
Que cutre jajjaja y que mal suena
