Another method which I used was to get rid of the airbox full stop, buy a ram air cone and pipe kit. Attach it to the throttle body and lay the pipe over the inlet manifold so the cone is near the battery, in front of the original vent.

I’ve got a performance cone on my Fiesta and I didn’t remove the filter from the air box and it hasn’t made that much of a difference, should I remove the old filter in the air box?

What if I change the original filter and also install a cone filter? Do you think this will make it harder to intake the airflow?

When checking the compatibility, it says it will not fit but I also have the mk6 1.25. Should I ignore this and still buy?
Yes I would definitely ignore that and install it! Everything will fit when it's forced too! 😉
I took of the pipe pit and installed it on the plastic bit instead will it still work as good ?
As long as you have an airtight seal it will work fine!

I found a cone for a tenner on amazon ot says it will fit any car and looks like urs should i get it ?

Yes you can, but you have to put air filter on carter too
Costs about another 80£
The pipe ypu shoved inside the filter should be cut down to the right length or you're reducing airflow even more
Which size your open air filter ?
Would this fit the 2004 1.25? Says it won’t fit but you’ve installed it on the 2005 🤔

@@fueld6244 Would it sound better with a performance air filter added or just completely remove the original air filter without replacing it for a performance filter
You will need to have an air filter on! Driving without an air filter is not an option! I would recommend using a performance air filter, it will make the car sound a bit sportier!
@@fueld6244 Sorry a bit of confusion, so when you took the air filter from the airbox it wasn’t replaced or you didn’t put one back in afterwards?

Wow. So now you’re taking in hot air from the engine bay rather then cold air from the grill. You know that means you’ve made the car slower?
Where do you think the cold air from the grill is going now? We didn't cover the back of the grill!
@@fueld6244 so you think that the air inside the engine bay, near the engine etc is the same temperature as the air outside the car?
Of course not, the cold air is coming from the same place as before but because the new air filter has exposed sides, it is also taking in air from the engine bay, more air cannot be a bad thing?
@@fueld6244 yes it is when it warm or hot air as it’s less dense. That’s means less oxygen getting into your engine. Plus the standard air filter is absolutely fine. Don’t believe me? Drive it with and then drive it without an air filter. You’ll notice no difference.
The new ones looks cooler though 🙂

This is the stupid method ever. Buy a full kit and get rid of the old one entirelly, or let it be like from factory.
