I saw it twice. The first time I had a really hard time critiquing the movie, but the second time I was just able to let go of all that and enjoy the movie and turn off my brain and honestly that’s what I wanna do in a movie. I don’t wanna have to think about it too much I wanna have fun and I did. I hope they make more movies with practical effects and something that you can just get popcorn and watch. Was not a perfect movie, but I had fun
A thoughtful perspective, but I have zero interest in watching this movie, especially since Keaton did such an amazing job in Birdman which was meta af and kind of makes me a little disappointed that he would take on this role in light of it. Burton’s only work of note imo occurred in the 80’s and 90’s. And it doesn’t look like this movie, if I were to watch it would come anywhere close. I enjoyed the review though, great job!
Even though I don’t think it fully comes together as a whole I do think there’s a lot of great stuff there that it’s worth watching for and it’s the closest Tim Burton has gotten to his 90’s feel in a long time
@@ConorsMovieList I’m stoked you enjoyed it, but the first time I watched it was as an 9yo with a mate who’s Mum had rented it for us on VHS in 1989. At this point I’m done with the nostalgia cash-ins at the expense of my memories.
@@slartibartfast7921 First off, great name. Secondly, we should all use box office ticket sales as a vote for approval. Don't want to see more of the nostalgia grabs, don't go. Couldn't agree with you more. I find that we're just round the corner and the equation has now changed. It's now about social engagement (whether good or bad) and a "what's similar & successful" mentality that is currently running the decision making in Hollywood. Adams family show has streaming success? Pick apart what made that successful... Gothic humor, check. Jenna Ortega, check. Nostalgia grab, check. What's similar enough to fit this mold that we can trampoline and squeeze some money out of? Bingo! As far as Keaton signing up, there's 2 great motivators in the world to get someone to do pretty much anything, regardless of their stance or history.. pain and money.

I'll help. It's a shitty and boring movie. They should've left people wanting more. The only saving grace was Catherine O'HARA.
Catherine O’Hara was brilliant
