It's starting to rev up
And two years later the in-person live concert sold out :)
That sounds so back handed 😂
Im a humble man, i see outer wilds, i click
So many people seem to not know about the fully fledged and working VR mod for Outer Wilds. It made me cry first time I used it. Waking up at that campfire, and feeling like I was really there. Unbelievable.
i imagine flying into the sun is like a flashbang lol ::D
fr tho that sounds magical to experience
I have a VR headset but didn’t know about the mod when I played this game. One of the biggest things I regret is not experiencing this in VR for the first time 😭😭
@@saturatedjuicestice4061 Yo same, then when the dlc released I'm too inpatient to wait for the vr mod to update. Double regret 😢
@@saturatedjuicestice4061 I played the whole game first in vr. It was magical.
I know about it but as for now I think no (affordable) PCVR headset is good enough to serve this masterpiece justice. One of the primary reasons is Outer Wilds being a space exploration game so you want OLED or later in the future microLED for this experience. I really hope the rumors are true and we will see some very interesting uOLED headsets starting to emerge in 2024. I want to hang on til then and most likely bawl my eyes out in awe once it happens.
outer wilds is so underrated.
Not really its aight
Totally
Not by players, that the Most Important.
Underplayed, not underrated
Its not underrated it has gotten several awards and noticed by a lot of players as the best game of 2019. Its a master piece so no its not underrated.
I love the way the lights come on and off, as if they were playing this as they were drifting through space in a gently rotating spacecraft and the sun gradually comes into and out of view from the window.
the best game experience i ever played in my life

Technically you could just call it the solar system as they do call their star the Sun, meaning it shares its name with ours
I hope you enjoy your 22 minutes
Everyone involved with Outer Wilds helped make something really special.
Your art is seen, and I appreciate it
Gorgeous. Humbling.
Lol humbling in what way
@@jhvibes3471because it’s just so fucking good
I can't believe I just stumbled into this game some day, it's... fitting.
A game about finding wonders out of exploration - plunging head-on into unexplored, maybe dangrous territory, trying something new... Every cycle I would wake up knowing full well am probably going to die to something stupid - I'd be experimenting with something, exploring a place I am not familiar with yet.. I'd get lost, I'd get crushed by sand, I'd crash my ship, I'd get sucked into space...
One time, I'd plunge my head into an aquarium full of Piranhas, knowing full well what I'm doing, as I died to a giant fish that swallowed me whole.
At one point, I went to look for a game to play, and I bought this weird title I've heard nothing about, because space is cool and I loved the music and the art style in the trailers. I expected to maybe find a decent game, maybe be disappointed, I didn't know what I'm getting into.
Of course, that one time, I didn't die. I found out an amazing game instead.
And in that game, I had many cycles where even if I died in the end, I kept discovering new things.
Taking the risk was worth it.
Maybe that is another lesson this game teaches us.
I love how the distress beacon drones in the background of some of these. It adds some nice textures and atmosphere. Awesome live performance, Andrew and David.
Amazing performance. Stuck at home, but listening to this laying out under the stars is magical.
I can't hear this and not cry. So fuckin beautiful
This OST and this game just elicit SO many emotions in me, every time. I'll be forever thankful that Outer Wilds happened in my lifetime.
i happen to know the existence of the outer wilds when RUclips music first suggested the 1.4m years for my discovery mix tape. i immediately fell in love with the piece. after a while, like i do for other songs i love, i started to look up for the songs and after learning it's from OST of outer wilds, i just bought it started playing it, fell in love again! thx guys!
Not kidding, Outer Wilds gives us a whole other meaning of life
Best music and best game ever ❤️🔭🌠
Best game soundtrack ever!
That was beautiful, thank you guys for the performance ❤️
Not a single damn dislike. Well deserved. I'm at the moment going through a bit of a personal crisis, and this is just how my brain rests. It goes from chaos to harmony. Thank you so much. It truly means the world to me what you do with your work, Andrew.
Listening to this every day at the moment, so good...
something i've noticed with most of the music that takes place outside of the game, is that it all sounds very different from the campy atmosphere that the in-game music brings. for example, the live end times remix sounds a lot different from the original, where something like reprise takes familiar melodies from the game and takes a foreign approach, while also keeping the banjo in it. i've noticed people say the chorus heard from the quantum objects is a remnant from the previous universe's music, and has become altered from the very long time its been around. what I'm suggesting is that the music heard in the game is of course from the outer wilds universe when it was still alive, and the music that is played outside of the game has experienced the same warping as the chorus from the quantum objects, and is still the same, but changed from the eons of it playing from the previous universe.
I think you're right, the in-game music brings this familiar, foreign feeling and the curiosity of exploring it, in the other side, the music outside of the game sounds like the music from an ancient time that has been playing since then and at the same time embracing what it's to come in the future.
revisiting here just few hours before the release of Echoes of the Eye. If there are any new tracks in the DLC, I really hope Andrew is the one to make them. I don't think anyone else is capable of capturing the essence of the game in his music like Andrew does.
He did, you can hear in the Spotify, I played the DLC (relax, I'll not say any spoiler) and some songs are just perfect with the feeling of the dlc, it's different from the original feeling of the game but it's really good like the original
He did not fail to deliver. The new tracks are fantastic.
The song "The sound of water" is one of my favorite tracks, so damn beautiful. Andrew captured it perfectly, damn this guy makes me cry man. Also don't listen to it unless you have played the DLC
*grabs a banjo*
*hearts start melting slowly*
2 years and i'm not getting over this soundtrack. I didn't even played the game yet. Thank you Andrew and Annapurna for this feelings❤😭
Play it if you ever get the chance to! They created a DLC for it recently, and it gave me so many of the feelings from the base game all over again.

@@difficultpit96 the game doesn't play well with a mouse, and is capped at 60fps, so i'd say it's best played on a console with a big fat tv.
If you're watching this, and haven't played the game, please go do it. It's absolutely brilliant.

Phenomenal performance
This is incredible I love this game and this music.
God this is beautiful
My 2019 revelation
Damn I wish I hadn't missed this.
Andrew few people have touched as many hearts as you have with instrumental music. You, Alex and the rest of the team deserve far more exposure and recognition than you've received.
But a game like Outer Wilds has its own grass roots. Players will continue to recommend this to friends and loved ones for years to come. What you've created here is beautiful.
That looks like a gnarly signal chain. I'd love to learn about some sound design techniques you use

Love your music dude, it inspires me so much
I have been on a journey. We all have. An impossibly lonely journey far away from the here and now. One that allowed us to spread beyond the narrow perspective so many are stuck in the day to day.
We thought, we tried, we failed, again and again, to try and find the solution to an impossible problem. As we tried more and more solutions reality began to set in harder. We fought alone to arrive at the end of the universe hoping for for answers and recieved none. We learned a lesson in futility. Our minds have been opened just a little bit from the mundane to appreciate our place in the universe and time.
And every time I hear those cords I remember all the friends I couldn't save. Victims simply of being born in the wrong time. In a hundred years, I'll never forget those cords.
HOW DID MISS THIS
2 years later and this game is probably one of the most ignored piece of art ever created. One of the best videogames in history and also a masterpiece of any media.
Couldn't agree more. Outer Wilds is absolutely special. It has just completely raised the bar. There is everything else, and then there is Outer Wilds.
Wish they could do this with the DLC music now because it's even more great music
So maybe I'm going insane, but I think I'm definitely hear some of the echoes soundtrack in this. Which would make sense since Andrew was probably already working on echoes at this point.
A true legend
This music and game changed my life.
It's a crime against video game music (and indie games in general) that this doesn't have at least 100 times as many views

This is a real treat.
God I'm so in love with this game

In some ways I regret watching the Neebs Gaming series playing the Outer Wilds because it spoiled things for me, but also I don't regret it as I never would have come across Outer Wilds and they didn't spoil everything and still left plenty to discover. They also did an amazing job of job of injecting even more life and emotion into what is an outstanding game through their friendship and love the whole crew voiced the various people you meet in game
That intro with the high pitched loop peculiarly reminds me of a Echoes of the Eye song... He'd definitely written it by this point, hadn't he? Hehehe.
