It's not just what you know, it's where you know to look! A hunt through the attic of an antique mall reveals a 40-year collection of Fenton art glass, including samples, rarities and one-of-a-kinds that will make a hit at the upcoming convention in Marietta, Ohio, and I'm picking all I can fit in the van to head east. (More convention info and reservations are still available @RosiesAuctionHouse here on RUclips!)
I'm selling as well as appraising at that convention, so to have a last-minute chance to show you all the breadth of Fenton's artware production while picking and choosing what to take to Marietta is a fantastic opportunity! We get a good gander at so many varied styles, colors (including different shades of uranium glass) and shapes from decades of their work, including things you'd never guess bore the Fenton label.
We discover some of the artists (surprise! There's even Italian styles and cameo glass in Fenton), gawk at a huge range of art glass house and gift ware, and really appreciate how vast and impressive Fenton's century of production truly is! To choose just six boxes to take to Ohio seems impossible, but in the end we show what we're taking to the Lafayette Hotel convention, and what we're leaving for visitors to Star Center Mall in Snohomish, Washington.

Hanging lamps, hurricane lamps, oil lanterns, Wavecrest style boxes, beverage sets, dresser sets, animal figures, Santas, fairy lamps, cameo glass vases, feather pull vases, silver overlay vases, clocks, figurines, dresser boxes, Alley Cats, bulldogs, pitchers, cruets, paperweights, eggs, ginger jars, jack-in-the-pulpits, epergnes, dealer signs, bowls, trays, baskets, sculpted and etched glass, shoes, hats, covered dishes, candlesticks, etc. in finishes and colors like Burmese, Rosalene, cranberry, 1960s orange, 1980s teal, satin, painted, vaseline ("uranium"), custard, cased, crested, Charleton decorated, carnival, Vasa Murrhina, etc. and patterns ranging from Coin Spot/Coin Dot and Persian Medallion to Hanging Hearts and Opalescent optic...so many varieties!

Sadly George, being in Ireland I can't make the convention but I have soooo enjoyed this video and clearly you enjoyed making it. You are looking fantastic - I think when you are surrounded by things you love it makes you glow too - are you sure you haven't been spending too much time around Uranium? 🙂 I love the selection you picked, a little bit of everything and it was a really hard thing to take it down to a small selection but I think you did that lovely lady proud and she would be delighted with you, may she rest in peace. I fell in love with everything you pointed out and was glad you picked the colourful alley cat. Good luck with the convention. Hope you are able to bring us a little bit of footage from it. I'm of two minds about Fenton. Or maybe one mind, and my thinking is very influenced by my mom who told me back in the 80's that only the "old" Fenton was any good. I do like the marvelous designer pieces, especially by Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp I've never seen these before. Thank you for showing us.

Good evening, George! Love that pond boat, at the beginning. Those lamps modeled after old oil lamps are something I like that Fenton made. There was a blue custard glass peacock vase there. I have one like it in green. It still has the lable on it. Loved that hanging Victorian hanging lamp. I liked the ruby epergne. I have one like that in blue. The Kelsey Murphy/Robert Bomkamp pieces with the multi-colours on the black are fantastic. It looked like an antique pickle condiment jar there. I like the Burmese and green epergnes. You made seriously fantastic choices to take to the show! I'm sure you would've liked to have taken all of it. It's a shame Fenton went out of business, after all those years of making such fantastic glass! Thanks for showing us all of this fantastic glass!!!

Wow! It's like a Fenton museum! I was just in Marietta last weekend and marveled at how many Fenton pieces were at the local antique mall. Of course it made sense because Marietta is just across the river from where the factory was. I'm really surprised that there is such a collection all the way out in Washington. The Lafayette hotel is very cool. I wish I could join you, but my shop is participating in our town's sidewalk sale this weekend. Enjoy your time there.
Washington and Oregon are super hot glass collecting markets, so she was able to build quite a business and inventory! I wish you could join us too but good luck at your sidewalk sale

I am Canadian and love my Chalet glass. I grew up knowing Chalet glass. I had no idea that Rossi did stuff for Fenton. Proof that you learn something new everyday in this business. I love it!

I like some of it really well! It's. more traditional by and large than my style, but they made so much that there's lots to love for modernists too

Thank you thank you thank you...I would so love to be there...one of my last gifts from my grandma was a Fenton bear ,,,clear with pink heart, I just love all you have shown...I had no idea except what you were telling us....thanks ever so much...I adore glass..always went to those Rain of Glass shows..not sure if they are still on..this Fenton show sounds like a dream..how wonderful to represent your dear friend as well.

This is extreme eye candy for me! I sure hope that stunning glass like this having a renaissance. I never get tired of looking at it. I don't envy you having to choose which ones to take -- it would have to be so hard. Sadly, glass just doesn't sell well in my shop in California.

Beautiful Collection!!!Cranberry Opalescent Coin Dot and Swirl patterns are a favorite 🤩 Love the Burmese too. We sold Fenton in the flower shop I worked at in the 70’s. My Boss got me hooked on it. She had a fabulous Cruet collection!

I started collecting Fenton when I was a little girl. Maybe 10 . I have pieces that only have Fenton wrote on the bottom in a tiny oval. I have never been able to find these on eBay.
