Definitely secret sauce in these. I gave a guy a go of my 10inch. Found gold within 10mins and said he'd never used anything like it? I think you need to pull apart a Minelab coil and also do some in field testing which would then allow you to speak more freely? The 8inch i found to sensitive getting hot rocks but worked well with some depth. I compared against my wifes 6000 and it was very close but slightly behind it. The 10inch gets great depth and good sensitivity and no hot rocks like the 8. X-coils are giving the 7000 coil options like a GPX 5000. They are excellent coils and what ever their formula, all i know is they are fantastic coils.
Perhaps the low uH acts as a filter , less receive capacity also shapes undesirable signals since the Gpz combines the two in certain modes perhaps it serves to counteract the relatively high transmit current for small targets, in my opinion hehe😂
Hi Woody . Is there only 2 wires going back through the coil lead , transmit and receive . And which direction does the transmit and receive wires travel , are they all traveling in the same direction ?. Thanks Frog
@@frogzlegs6285This 8" is DOD coil, the same winding design shape as the Minelab GPZ and NF GPZ coils. It could not be made with the usual X-coil spiral windings as the coil size is too small, it's a really hot coil on small gold yet holds some decent depth too.
With a small coil I would suggest that the transmit winding can be made lighter and smaller as the field intensity does not have to be high for small gold close to the coil.

Thank you for your time and effort.
Thanks for the video Peter. Always wondered what they looked like inside… All I know, is that they work… lol 😊
Thanks Peter very interesting and to see inside that coil
Thanks for the look in. WA
good to see inside them mate

I am going to build one from scratch, but thinking of building a compensated concentric to get extended depth and sensitivity.
@DetectorMods sign me up for a ripper coil then Peter for my 7 as I was looking at purchasing a 15 inch concentric coil from xcoil
@DetectorMods I would love to trial the coil you build in Clermont qld it's pretty mineralised ground there and very heavily detected ground
Gotya baffled
Hello Peter, is the two receiver coil for deeper nuget or for discrimination?
Both.
Greetings. Does the depth of target detection depend on 'R' of the screen?
If the resistance is low enough it will absorb both transmit and return energy.

5 wires 2 transmit, 2 receive and ground.
@@DetectorMods All going the same direction , ?
So is this coil classed as a DD coil and not a mono

Yes
interesting chat am looking for a small 7000 coil

Can tell how to rewind liz on a 9inch mono
More info.
