I was using a Bully Dog on my intact 2015 GMC. In the "Performance" tune I would regen (city) every 150 to 200 miles. In the "Tow " tune about 500 miles. On the interstate my mpg with cruise was 29.9 going 73 mph and the regen would be around 700. It takes about 7-10 minutes to change tunes. The module is the auto cal and display all in one unit. (hope I explained it correctly) I just installed the Duramax Tuner (it's what I wanted to begin with but my mechanic insisted the Bully Dog) and is uses the EZ Lynk for the tunes install ( you need to be computer literate to use this thing, I am not) and I installed the DSP 5 switch so I can change tunes on the fly. Only had it for about 50 miles so far, but I like it. I also installed the Duramax Tuner in my wifes 2016 GMC Canyon 2.8L. with the DSP 4 It made her truck a little monster. The peddle response is greatly improved and her mpg's are upper 30's to low 40's for city, We also installed the S&B cold air.
Can’t wait to see someone tuning there truck with emission on. Hard to pull trigger on deleting knowing you have to smog and dealing with headaches every 2 years.
2slowt67 D what do you mean smog and dealing with headaches every two years? You reside in California? I’m in Arkansas so just curious here. Looking at my Options for my L5p
Lots of people have tuned these trucks with emissions on and they run great! It’s runs and has the same power etc as a deleted truck just no smoke and it still regens. Tuned right you can go up to 700 miles between regens!
Jake Bingham interesting, probably obviously a lot cheaper. I have an 18 l5p want to delete but I’m not to keen on that right now. However tuning it, that would void powertrain warranties altogether correct?
I have a 2018 2500 HD, I’m between a full delete or a smog legal tune. Personally I don’t want to deal with having problems with smog. I think I heard you say warranty would still cover on smog legal one? I assume depending what warranty I have id need to look in to it before adding a tune? My other question now two years have passed since you made this video what’s your thought about the smog legal tune for more power and what would you recommend I purchase?
I’m hoping I can get an answer from you or someone on here. I have a Cummins that I am wanting to tune and use the ez lynk. If I end up doing a delete will I be able to use the Kory Willis ppei tune from ez lynk?
What emissions compliant would you go with for the L5p, I’m in Arkansas but can delete but that cost I don’t see why if I can pretty much do the same. Chevy dealership is pretty cool in most things.
So with the emission compliant tune and the engine not going into regen and adding fuel on the offcycle, does this setup get better gas mileage? Also what me a 6.6 hat!
Love your channel, seen you on Rayon’s blogs, notice your a golfer cool watch the golf channel my daughter a professional golfer and was on big break, sponsor is Ben Hogan golf we live in the wet state of Washington, love your channel
OK I bought some 5w40 t6 but have not done it yet, dealer did first two, though it was low the other day , not sure why, my LBZ never used a drop of oil. @@EddieLife3500
Emissions tunes r great. I like duramax tuner/motor ops personally. U regen a bit more but not alot. Motor ops is $50 more for the 5 pack of compliant tunes vs a single...via autocal. Then if u do delete its like $150 or something to switch. Compliant tunes absolutely void warranty
@@MrLomacesar Me? depends where you live. Here in Italy we have our tuners that don't sell their tunes and tune in-house only, sorry I don't know about your nation :)
I just spoke to 5 dealerships today and I was advised that any kind of tune, lift pump, or pump conversion voids the warranty even if it is emissions compliant. They are going to try and fuck us no matter what we do.
Bro, I got a 2018 L5p, I’m in Canada and don’t give a fuck about the environment. I wanna full delete and full deleted tunes. Where is my best bet to get the dpf/ egr/ all that junk delete and tune this bad girl. Want a straight pipe turbo back, cheers
From the research I've done on forums it seems that PPEI does a better job doing overall tunes for GM/Chevy Duramax vs. Ford Powerstroke. GDP has quite a number of mentions when it comes to tuning Fords. Data is always a mixed bag so pick your poison ppl, don't forget your trans needs to be tuned properly if you go high power :O
And if you don't delete it cuts the lifespan of your engine in half it's a fact plain and simple it will destroy your engine not if it's when and it's definitely going to be sooner than later
In my opinion dpfs and stuff are garbage , but deleted tunes that do black smoke ( or rollin coal )are the reason EPA want diesels to die. I would still use a catalitic converter, no EGR and stuff but a cat always.

What motor oil in an L5P do you use?
Delo 15W-40

What’s the best kit for deleting my lml , it’s completely stock? 11000. Miles on it.
all you need is a straight pipe tune by PPEI and a DSP5 switch, i would also had a FASS 150 lift pump and a Edge CTS2 monitor system
Eddie's Life so no egr delete ?
you can delete it or put block off plates or just unplug them
Woot woot 🇺🇸🍾

Any golfing going on @Eddie ? What are we cooking for Easter?

Due you any tunes for 2018 ram 1500 ecodiesel 3.0 thanks
That engine is the same as the grand cherokee and the maserati diesels, any company that do those cars should be able to work with it.
yes

Compliant tuning absolutely voids your warranty! You can get a 150hp tune for compliant trucks! Flo pro was fined and will no longer deal in the U.S.
