DW 3 demo for the PS2. I can't even remember how I got that demo but it got me hooked and I've been a fan since. Some of the DW games haven't been that great but this looks like it's going to make up big time.

That was my favourite part. I agree with the replies above as well. Lu Bu using his Triangle attack on that poor private/coporal was rather funny and terrifying at the same time.
Man, the scale of the battle looks really awesome, so far the battle atmosphere really seems like the best in the franchise for me. Definitely gonna try day 1

I don't mind it it, if you get to choose which kingdom you side with they should have had it where they get an outfit based on that kingdom and its colours though. The design of the main character is bland aswell, none of my favourite characters in DW look young lol

Say what you want about how they change so much from previous game. I guaranteed you this game will bring broader audience. This new formula will make even casual gamer that never play previous game will say "i'll try this one. The combat from what i've seen has more variety and modernize (dodges, parry, etc) by having actual boss fight
having the same effect Monster Hunter World did for me. I never played a monster hunter before world and i CANT wait for MH Wilds. This Dynasty Warriors looks cool. Im interested.

What makes or breaks these games for me is weapon variety and level of ridiculousness of the attacks. If I can juggle elephants or whip a horse around its day 1 buy. If I can ride a clockwork tiger, buy. Its quite simple actually
I cannot wait until the Empires version of this comes out. As much as I like the main Dynasty/Samurai Warriors games, I've always enjoyed the Empires games a bit more. But my favorite out of all of them are the Orochi entries, so if they also end up doing that I'm gonna be a happy chap for a long, long time.

Nioh 2 is a hack & slash game with some features reminiscent of the Souls series, developed by Team Ninja & published by Koei Tecmo. The game allows you to create your own character with customizable features like scars, skin colours, tattoos, height, age, etc. Unless you are modding the game, your customizable avatar has a lot of outfits that complement your character's looks. And here we have...DW: Origins, a game also by KT that forces us into playing a generic Isekai protagonist with none of the CC features of Nioh 2.
I wouldn't say this is a no brainer hack n slash, you need to have some skills to fight the officers and the Lu Bu fight on the demo was very souls-like. I was very pleased with the demo, the gameplay is excellent.
Multiplayer is what made this game back in the day, especially couch co op. So sad this one doesn't have it. I would've LOVED a co-op online version, especially for replayability.
I think this is interesting, but i still want a new title or expansion with all the officers we love becoming playable again. In short, origins is fine, but i want a proper Dynasty Warriors 10.

My brother and I played the dynasty warriors 2 demo on ps2 Hu Lao Gate over and over and over again. At the time it was all we had. Sony sent us the demo in the mail and it brought hours upon hours of joy. It’s what got us into the series and the rest is history. Extremely excited for this game. Bought a Xbox controller the other day that was on sale in preparations for this game. Haven’t used a controller on my pc in a very very long time. But for this game it’s necessary💯
Im very excited! However, im still dissapointed with no character creation. BUT! remember guys, this is not dynasty warrior 10, i think it's more like a soft reboot to the series. If this game did great, maybe we will have more content like character creation and more in the future dynasty warriors.
I think they needed a new foundation. They were looking for one after DW8, and what they came up with just didn't work. It needs years of work and refinement to strike the right balance.

Nine had a lot of potential, but I think the devs underestimated how much investment it takes to make an open world game work. It's like they built the world, and then realized they had no idea what to do with all of that open space. I'd be curious to see what modders could do with that big empty playground.
I rlly hope its alot of fighting like the old dynasty warriors without tomuch tralala. I rlly hope the strategy will be a big factor. Many ppl hate Dw 6, i loved it as it was one of the few that the game rlly felt like multiple strats were optional. And your morale of the armys were rlly impactfull in higher difficulty games.
Like spamming different combo and hoping not get counter in the middle of it? or running around with low hp and abusing true mosou to defeat lu bu? the fighting in this game is miles ahead than what it was. It has more variety like dodges, parry and actual bossfight
I can't remember the last time i bought a dynasty warriors game, but as long as this is 60fps, it's a day one for me. Looks awesome. i love the strategy elements. That way, it doesn't feel like im just pressing the same 2 buttons over and over.
On PC at least it'll support 60 fps... I imagine PS5 Performance Mode will do it as well, though I couldn't tell you what graphical downgrades would occur to ensure 60 fps.
It’s been ages since we had a great and different DW game!! I look so forward to it. It’s easier to focus on the game if you do one character vs all of them. Tho great chance for missing character creation :(
No character creation? Just another Dynasty Floparriors. There is a reason why the Empire series is the best selling version of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.
According to the producer it's actually DW8XLCE... although all of both franchises got outsold by Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity... and it wasn't even close.

DW2 didn't have alternative weapon styles per character. Just mainly stat boosts drops from each captain. I wish for those simpler times.

I sided with Lu Bu in every game I was allowed too
feel like that just means there will be branching points where you can choose to side with Liu Bei, Cao Cao or the Sun family.

Maybe you can get outfits since you can switch to wo-long outfit from the end of the trailer.

There is a reason why the Empire series is the best selling version of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.
According to the producer it's actually DW8XLCE... although all of both franchises got outsold by Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity... and it wasn't even close.

Dynasty Warriors 4 still the best selling of the DW serie with more than 3 millions sold, but Hyrule Warriors sold 4 millions.
Fun Fact: If we had DW4 remaster it would outsell Hyrule Warrios.

I was already excited when I saw the graphics and the scale of the combat with none of the enemy soldiers fading out for performance or whatever, but that powerbomb really did it for me man. 😆 🔥🔥🔥
Unfortunately the powerbomb will be in the full game but not the demo... it's the Musou Attack for the Gauntlets moveset.
