Fun fact, for the entirety of planning and most of launch preparation, TV Aratu just... DIDN'T HAVE A NAME. Nope. Nothing, nada. There were a lot of suggestions of names, but the lead management eventually settled on "Aratu" 2 WEEKS before the station's launch. It was delayed for a bit so that the branding could be implemented (and the first ident you saw be made) but surprisingly, everything went well.
they probably had the rooster identity already settled, as "Aratu" has absolutely nothing to do with roosters or chicken. In fact, it's the name of a crab. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aratus_pisonii

This station has some pretty interesting (and fantastic) idents, especially for a television station from the Brazilian state of Bahia. Somehow their logo reminds me of the one from France's Pathé since that company also included a rooster in their logo. Their 1960s-1970s idents using cartoon animation (such as 0:40) are especially interesting since it somehow reminds me of those cartoons from Walt Disney or the Woody Woodpecker ones. Speaking of Woody Woodpecker, it was overwhelmingly popular in Brazil to the point where it got lots of memes around it.
