A night of Street Photography during Lisbon's biggest party l X-T4 l Film Emulation

- In Portugal we call it Santos Populares. AKA The whole month of June dedicated to street party and barbecue sardines. Its the month where we really embrace our own culture and celebrate the pride in being Portuguese. On the evening of the 12th of June we have a parade and competition between 20 districts of Lisbon for the best show. They sing, they dance, they look great. Its the perfect setup for some good Parade Street Photography. The costumes and make up are at an all time high and the audience is no less intriguing. After that the whole city takes to the street to celebrate. The historic neighborhoods of Lisbon are turned into lively street-food markets and bars. It is an unique sight to behold. And a fascinating environment to take some interesting pictures. Join me for a wild ride!

As Celia Cruz would joyously shout: "¡Asssucaa!" (That is "azúcar," but pronounced in Cuban.) Made me smile and recall my times taking photos at such street events and makes me look forward to the Pride parade in Portland Oregon in 2 weeks. Such great thought, analysis, photography and videography. I will be back with more. So effing cool.

@@hugomartinsphoto Hugo, I recently read an article about the severe heat affecting Southern Europe, including Portugal, and hope you and yours are well.
About my trip to Portland for Pride, I was only able to take 3 photos of the parade itself. When I got to the parade, I turned on my camera and the battery was dead. I changed it for the replacement I always carry with me, and was only able to take 3 photos because that battery was dead, too. Oh well. Gorgeous, low key event that I want to return to next year (with charged batteries...). I did get some (I think) beautiful photos of roses in the city's expansive rose garden.

Yes, you are correct. Even though I could not photograph anything, I enjoyed the even and even had a great, coincidental conversation with someone from Portland, who also is familiar with California. And I got to enjoy more of the city, which I want to return to next year. Very pretty place, a lovely small city.

La vie débordante, palpitante, bruyante et réjouissante comme elle devrait l'être toujours ! Assurément, il y a quelque chose dans l'air de festif et de léger à la fois que tu as su capter admirablement. dans ce nouveau montage vidéo ! Cette "Parade" est un véritable déluge de couleurs qui nous embarque, nous transporte et nous offre un aller simple pour l'évasion et ce, à travers la découverte culturelle. C'est donc un agréable moment que tu nous livres là, Hugo car une ville se découvre aussi dans ses fêtes et ses coutumes !
