    I can't believe you run the engine when it was making that sound.

      Yea, I agree with you, but when you are stuck in mid France the goal is to get somewhere which isn’t the middle of a field and your mates using his arm to push you - I would have blown the engine to get to the next town if that’s what it took.

    I'm really very sorry to see your trip being cut short, but that's what can sometimes happen whether you're riding in a group or on your own. I know as it's happened to me. Prefer it if it happens as a group as it's no fun sorting it out on your own never the less its all part of making memories and having the piss taken out of you over the winter months. Is there any chance you can share the routes with us? This is something I would be interested in doing next summer. I hope you get the bike sorted out. PS super video. Keep them coming.

      @@glennbrookes8005 oh yes all that has started! I can’t share the exact route but I can give you a good idea! Day one we rode down near Lyon but you can ride to Troyes or anywhere you fancy, day two you head towards the start of the route de grande alps or you head down the route napoleon. You can do it either way… here’s a link to a site which has a picture of all the keys points - if you follow that you’re pretty much good! Hope it helps… sorry it’s not in English!

    Sorry to hear about your bike problem. I hope your insurance will have the bike sorted for you, and you can get back on the road asap. I’m off to Spain on my bike in a few weeks, and I’m hoping my recovery insurance would sort me out if the worst happened. I’ve seen a few videos lately of stranded bikers not getting the help that they thought they would get from their cover .

      @@michaelaspden1732 best of luck! Just have a good read through your cover so you have full confidence in it. To be honest mine been ok, a little slow but… the bikes on its way back now after 3 weeks.

      Sry to hear of your latest bike issues mate. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of the issue and it's fixable. keep us posted. My MT10 is at 30K miles and no issues so far fingers crossed

  • @Banditmanuk
    @Banditmanuk 3 дня назад +1

    Probably big end. Glad you made it home OK. My 2016 MT10 is nearly at 40,000 miles, no issues so far. I'm older and slower, so hopefully, mine will hang together.
    I do cringe when folks bounce the engine off the rev limiter, but I'm not an expert on what caused the failure.
    Hope you see your bike back soon.

    Cam chain tensioner or a valve is my guess judging by the sound, sounds too clackety for the crank.

    Sorry to hear of your problems. I hope you can get the issue sorted quickly, and under warranty. My '23 S1000R dropped a valve at six months old, and it sounded a lot like that, but did i hear yours quieten when you pulled the clutch in? If so, it may be clutch-related. Either way, it's probably terminal, and that's probably for the best when you consider the likely secondary damage. BMW fitted a new engine to mine, but it took 3 months. Good luck.

    • @BikeLikeMike92
      @BikeLikeMike92  3 дня назад

      Lucky you had a warranty there! BMW are usually pretty good with that kinda stuff. Crazy a 23 bike dropped a valve but these things happen at every manufacturer. Least you’re back on the road now!

    I hope Yamaha watch this, I can’t believe you still rode the bike with that noise. This is why I never go abroad in a group there’s always some one that ruins it for everyone.. you all ride like as if your 10 miles form home, you should call the video how not to ride abroad..

      We buy our bikes to have fun on and actually use, there’s breakdown cover, we wear all the gear we can. Nobody’s holiday was ruined, it’s how stories are created and memories are made. Maybe you should try it… have a bit of fun.
