We have gone to the Gingeri Restaurant at the Lansdowne Mall a few times going back a few decades. It's pretty good with a good variety for dim sum. Here my revie of the Gingeri Restaurant:
      ruclips.net/video/iaxj2OQd9qE/видео.html
Also in the Landsdowne Mall are other Chinese restaurants, food court and a T & T Supermarket that serves Chinese food.
There are other great places for dim sum just on No. Three Road alone you can try such as Neptune Restaurant and Chef Tony's but there is enough at Lansdowne Mall for you to try if you only have one day to explore.
Thanks for checking out my video. Have a great visit to /richmond when you're here.

Your mom reminds me of my grandma so much. Hearing her speak toishan is so nostalgic for me. My grandparents owned a Chinese restaurant in Edmonton years ago. They had the best dim sum and it was so busy there at that time. Grandpa did the BBQ and grandma was in the kitchen doing everything. I was a busboy there in the summer time cleaning tables and adding hot water to customers teapots. The restaurant was called Dragon Garden

We both speak the Four Counties dialect known as Sai Yip. Always be proud of yourself for helping your grandparents. I did the same for my grandfather and my parents.
Is the Dragon Garden Restaurant still standing? I haven't been to Edmonton for a long time and I will be doing some Chinese restaurant reviews hopefully in the future. Do you know of any old Chinese restaurants still operating in Edmonton now? Thanks for sharing your family history and thanks for checking out my video.

Wow! Everything looks good at Cindy's Palace. Haven't been there in a long time. Your mom's wonton looks tasty. Will have to try the recipe. I had a quick look at frozen wonton. Most have very high sodium up to 48%! Some instant noodles up to 400%. That could be a deadly combination! Safer with homemade!!

    • @DanSetoChineseCanadianRootsTV
      @DanSetoChineseCanadianRootsTV  3 месяца назад

For sure, safer with homemade cooking in general. Control over the ingredients. My mom has several recipes for different fillings for wontons so you can have variety in eating wontons. Just check for wontons on this channel and my other RUclips channel called "Chinese Cooking Channel". Thanks for checking out my video. Happy cooking!

Yes, unfortunately prices are still going up. I went to this restaurant again and the prices are up since that time. Yikes! So many factors are contributing to inflation these days. Thanks for checking out my video.

If Canada and the US keep printing money at the current rate the only thing that will be worth anything are bitcoins and mint hockey cards! I love the lotus leaf lobster dish. So flavourful.

And to add further insult to injury, the BOC just cut rates again to tackle run away inflation.😢
Maybe wise to spend/gratify your appetite while the fiat is still worth something?

I am salivating and craving dimsum now. Ahhh look at that look at that… I definitely gotta try it indeed! Your restaurant meal looks appetizing but will soon cost double what you paid if the incompetent justinflation continues his whacky misspending policies at the hardworking tax payers expense.
No mashed shrimp, woodear and/or shitake mushrooms to enhance the flavour and texture of your wonton dumplings? Maybe that is another cantonese version of dumpling (shui gow) I am alluding to…

    • @DanSetoChineseCanadianRootsTV

You are right about the inflation. I have lived through inflation in the past and the pain will get worse unfortunately. My parents and grandparents experienced hyperinflation in their past.
We have other wonton recipes using wood ear mushrooms, prawns, water chestnuts and other ingredients. They are in other episodes on this channel and my other RUclips channel called "Chinese Cooking Channel."
