  • Talking with the City of David Foundation about an excavation two decades in the making.
In 2004, a portion of the largest ritual bath in Jerusalem was discovered in the southern part of the City of David. This pool is mentioned in the book of John as the location of the healing of a man who was blind from birth. Finally, after almost 20 years of waiting, excavation has begun on the rest of the huge pool.
On today’s program, host Brent Nagtegaal discusses the renewed excavation of the Siloam Pool with Ze’ev Orenstein, director of international affairs for the City of David Foundation.

Congratulations also to my City of Davis guide Judas. In 2019 I asked him when the rest of the Siloam Pool would be excavated. He replied then that it was a matter of time and money alone. Now it has become a reality sooner than we thought at the time: I look forward to being back soon!

Absolutely fascinating to learn the reason for the Psalms of Ascent! I wish growing up as a Catholic we were taught about the Rituals of Judaism and the Old Testament so we could understand the New Testament's meaning. They never made any sense to me because of poor explanations without the Jewish context. I only just learned that Easter is the Sunday after Passover, yet the priests of the Church still don't explain it like that. So much to learn!

Michael Rood, Nehemia Gordon, and other teachers go over the Hebrew Yeshua for understanding of Old Testament translations and 2/3 of Yeshua Hamashiach (Jesus Christ) teachings were around Galilean culture. The video will just pop with understanding of what the words meant. In school I was taught you have to understand the zeitgeist (spirit of the times) in which a book was written to help understand the comments and practices better. God bless

    is upward drawn to God.
3 By cool Siloam's shady rill
    the lily must decay,
the rose that blooms beneath the hill
    must shortly fade away;
4 And soon, too soon, the wintry hour
    of life's maturer age
will shake the soul with sorrow's power
    and stormy passion's rage.
5 O thou, whose infant feet were found
    within thy Father's shrine,
whose years, with changeless virtue crowned,
    were all alike divine,
6 Dependent on thy bounteous breath
    we seek thy grace alone,
through every stage of life, and death,

6:15 what I don’t understand though is how the pilgrims would have traveled from the Siloam pool to the Temple Mount before this road was built. I’ve heard Joe Uziel talk about how coins were found under the pilgrimage road that dates its construction to after 30 AD. Not to mention the fact that a sewer drain ran underneath the road, how would that not be defiling? As the road appears to have been built by the Romans, perhaps “Roman Road” would be a better name?

Flights from Texas are crazy expensive to the point it's not even worth it. I'd love love to see Israel but 3 to 4k for two round trip tickets is way to high.

When I was a kid I didn't pay attention too well but as I grew into manhood I began to listen intently and this was a great interview and discussion of wonderful potential for Lovely Jerusalem. So I have to ask, who farted at 17:45?

No. You didn't grow into manhood. You are still an adolescent child. Although I doubt it you may one day have a revelation that opens your eyes to Jesus . For what other reason are you here ?

Wrong, the psalms were read going up The Coiurt of men (in front Sanctuary)not the side road in video. Second the priest went through the Eastern Gate not the Western gate shown in the video.
