The origin of any film is immaterial. It is what it is. Now get on with it.
Thank you for the review and samples. I will be trying this film out. It seems reasonably priced and high quality.☕👍📷

Sometimes the origin can help give an idea of what it could be compared to etc, but no it does not matter as far as the results go. I like knowing where the film came from but at the end of the day definitely not what affects the results :) So glad you liked the review, hope you enjoy the film as much as I did, let me know what you though of it once you try it out 😊😊

I like this film very much. As for its origin one only has to look at the published spectral sensitivty curve by Rollei that shows a very high response to the blue portion of the light spectrum. This alone indicates that it is neither a kentmere nor AgfaPhoto APX, but that it is more similar to the Adox's CHS100 which itself is an Orthopanchromatic film. In any case, it makes beautiful photographs. Well done on your effort.

Thank you so much! I need to shoot it again now that I know what to expect from it, to really get the most out of it. I shoot BW film so rarely that I think I think I'm not doing the film justice. So this is more of a first impression point of view. I think you are on point with the CHS100! I looked at some sample photos and there is definitely a very strong resemblance.

ROLLEI RPX 100 is one of the best film out there, and his sister the RPX400 is also amazing. For better results use an incident light meter and develop yourself the film

Yes I think the 400 will fit my needs much better, and I can't wait to use that one next. But loved the 100, it was a beautiful surprise of a film. I am not that knowledgeable on BW film, I shoot it very rarely, but I am confident that I will use the RPX again and again!

Expose for the shadows, develop for the highlights. This is why I recommand you strongly to develop yourself your films. It is very easy. You dont need any darkroom. Dilution matters, it will lead to sharpness or tonalities. Stirring matters as well.

Yes! I do have to learn to develop myself, have not taken the leap yet, and I'm a little intimidated by it, because I am scared of ruining my roll, but I am so curious about giving it a try. Will definitely do so in the coming weeks.
