  • My brother and I hiked down to the banks of a free flowing river in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains for some early summer/late spring musky fishing. The water temperature started at about 66F and rose to 74F throughout the day. The air temperature reached about 80F. Muskies were found in slower pools near deep water. Musky action occurred between 9 and 10 am and again between 5 and 6 pm.
