A commissioned piece by my wife this swung or stretched glass vase was supposed to be a small piece. As I was invited to the studio to help Jason with the mechanics of a different project that day. I was delighted when invited to watch this vase produced. Prior to the vase Jason gave me a short lesson making a paper weight. This experience instantly hooked me on glass blowing, and the vase construction quickly turned from a small piece into a demonstration of the construction of a large vessel with a hand sculpted base and swung or stretched neck. As I was unable to film the entire process, this video is a compilation of the highlights of the process.
