This remix reminds of being at the Paradise Garage and Larry would bring in his own versions of a song into the mix. But better. Incredible sound engineering in addition to the composition!
That's what makes an M+M mix - the injection of their heritage into the original groove at just the right amount, so it doesn't get in the way of the groove. I also dig that they include a lot of outtakes that were dropped or minimized from the final mix for the album. They don't always get it right, but when they do, it's "earcandy". I respect your opinion, though. RIP Sergio Munzibai.
