- Led nearly always plays a few songs with `ukulele in his shows including some instrumentals. He often includes classic pop tunes in this segment and tonight he spun out a medley of "Yellow Bird" with "Save the Last Dance for Me." Watch bassist Jesse Gregorio Sr. figure out the change on the fly.
"Yellow Bird" is an island classic, of course, an instrumental hit for the Arthur Lyman Group. "Save the Last Dance" is probably one Led figured out from the radio when he was first building his uke chops.
Honey's at Ko`olau has been transformed from a golf course sports bar into a dynamic Hawaiian music venue featuring live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. www.honeysrestauranthawaii.com/
The featured performer on Saturday evening is the inimitable Mr. Ledward Kaapana and he draws a wonderful local crowd along with a stream of visitors from all over the world. He is supported by his long time bass player, Jesse Gregorio Sr., who also provides sound reinforcement at the Honey's gig.
Video was shot with two Panasonic Lumix GH4 cameras, audio recorded using a Zoom H6 with a feed from the mixer and room sound from the XY mics. All editing was done in Edius 7.5. Видеоклипы
This brother knows every things for ukulele n guitar,I really likes the way this brother play!!! The best player.love you brother.❤❤
The best ukulele player in the universe! Nobody holds a candle to Led. He knows how a uke should be played and enjoys every note he plays.
I certainly agree with your evaluation of Led's `ukulele prowess. I've been told by several great uke players that they were inspired by Ledward. This medley is one I've only heard once, I'm so glad I captured it on video.

Some magic dust on that fabulous playing
It's just amazing what he can pull out of those four strings.

Thanks for reminding me about this one. Sweet, eh? I'm really digging Jesse's bass - those guys never rehearse, so Jesse is just following by ear and he's nailing it.
Fran

To Mr.Fran Guidry. Again thank you very much for posting these videos at Honey's ♪ These dear 2 songs(Yellow Bird/Save the last dance for me) remind me of my younger days. Maybe we are the same age, so I like these kinds of dear songs even in Japan. I'm very sad not to go and not to listen to Mr.Kaapana's concert at Honey's because it is very far when we stay at Waikiki. Now I only enjoy watching on YOU TUBE.
+栗原晴代 Thanks for your comment, I'm so glad you are enjoying the RUclips clips. I hope you can find a way to Honey's some day, it is a very special experience.
Fran
+Fran Guidry Thank you so much for replying me everytime I left comments on your You Tube♪ I really appreciate your kindness and honesty♪ [Kona blewing] was easier to go taking Honolulu Bus, but... Honey's is hard to take the bus.
+栗原晴代 Yes, Hawaii Kai is much easier to reach from Waikiki. I would say that is the only thing better about Kona Brewing compared to Honey's, but it was important for many visitors.
Fran
Never went to the old honey's or the present day one...the reason being, is that I was too young for the original honey's and the latter being I don't make it out to Kaneohe much these days. My tutu's claim to fame was that she was the head cook at honey's when Don Ho was just starting out. Hopefully we can get back to some normalcy and I can finally sit down and have a few while listening to some beautiful music
We didn't know about the joys of Hawaiian music when the old Honey's was running, but we have spent many a wonderful hour up at the new Honey's. I hope their business survives because it so often felt like a windward side family celebration.
Fran
Thanks for sticking this on RUclips Uncle Led
+maulena s Ahhh, you think Uncle Led can put up RUclips video?? (Grin!)
Fran
I meant my uncle used to play at Honey's with Don ho
Has he ever come to the big apple?? I don't mean for just one day.So many free concerts in By For the summer.
I'm Uncle used to play at honeys Sonny Chillingworth with Don Ho is this the same honeys
No, the original Honey's is long gone. This one is the sports bar at the Ko`olau Golf Club and is a tribute to the original, with big portraits of Honey Ho and Don Ho along with photos of many of the artists who played at the original Honey's.
