In reality, Enel can't really hurt Laxus using lightning cuz Laxus will just eat it and become more powerful.
Aside from Fairy Law, Laxus can also use Freed's runes magic which apply a certain rule like prevents you to use some powers and has red lightning now which is beyond ordinary lightning itself.

Enel has nothing to even hurt Laxus. Laxus has high resistance to lightning and he can eat any lightning attacks and It will just make Laxus more stronger and stronger as a 2nd Generation Lightning Dragonslayer. meanwhile, Laxus can also perform Runes magic that he learned from Freed where once you are inside the runes, It's game over for his opponent because Laxus can create his rules of his own inside the runes like not allowing Enel to become intangible at all.
Fairy Law is literally one of the three strongest magic of the Fairy Tail Guild and can literally beat anyone and ignores any durability of someone he see as an enemy of him.

Fairy Law is the clutch ability here, good fight. Enel doesn't have the combat ability to win, especially since Laxus can eat a lot of the lightning dished out at him. If Enel had Armament Haki that would help a lot, but his Observation would make it annoying to take him down.

Seems fairly accurate. Eneru is really an eternal power source for Laxus, meaning Laxus won’t run out of magic. And as powerful as Eneru is, he can still run out of stamina. The only real advantage he has is his staff. And Laxus can take a lot of punishment.
A few things I forgot to add. Laxus’s red lightning was able to destroy Maximus (I think that’s his name), who was basically a cross between Android 18 and War Machine, and absorbs electricity to power himself up. And Laxus’s Red Lightning tore him apart.
And then there’s Fairy Law. A powerful spell that eliminates anything and anyone whom the caster sees as his/her enemy.

It was obvious that Laxus was going to win. Even if emeru was made of lightning, Laxus can eat and manipulate lightning making his attacks useless. Although Laxus's attacks couldn't hurt him he knows Fairy Law, which is a one hit KO to anyone that Laxus sees as an enemy. It was literally just a stalemate fight until the thunder mage decided to end it.
Michael Murray it wouldn’t be a one hit KO, it would definitely hurt Enel a lot. Another advantage Laxus has is basically unlimited engery in this fight since he’ll just eat all of Enel’s attacks.

Laxus he's immune to lightning and can eat it to replenish himself plus logias can be injured by other elements so Enel is at a complete disadvantage

Also you don't always need haki to fight a Elemental devil fruit user, you just need to counter their element with another element that cancels it out like how Luffy was able to hurt Enel because he was made of rubber.
