@@JenPhelpsbetter to review... influencers are just trying to sell. I have to say, sometimes you get palettes that aren't great on their own, but are good in conjunction with other palettes, or have that one colour that works with other palettes.... so on their own, not great, but still get used.
Me too! I absolutely love swatches of palettes! Sometimes if I’m feeling a little out of sorts, or in a bad mood.., I sit in my room swatching my favorite shadows! My family thinks it’s a little crazy, but other makeup lovers seem to understand! Lol

Thank you for mentioning that darker colors might work better on darker skintones. It always annoys me how a lot of people immediately classify darker colors as 'unwearable on a daily basis' even though those are usually the ones that ARE wearable for people of color.
Excellent point. I'm really pale, so colors that would be too light for most people work well on me. The darker colors...well, I use them on my outer corner, or as eye liner. And sometimes on my brows.
Absolutely! Tbh, it's a sign of progress that many palettes are now designed for darker skintones, and not just from BIPOC centered beauty companies. It's good to see a diversity of people loving and hating trendy palettes. I am shocked by how many light skinned white folks profess beliefs of inclusion but flood the reviews with complaints if every single palette isn't for us. I have found some great shades for lightening beautiful shimmers that are just too dark, and mehron or other mixing medium can do wonders to sheer out formulas or mix up custom shades
She’s definitely a niche kind of brand. I personally love her stuff, and it’s probably the only thing i buy that’s higher end. I won’t buy them unless they’re on sale though.
Agreed. $129 is a lot of money for 10 eye shadows. Also, I agree with Jen on wanting to be able to use one palette for a complete look. And I want to be able to use ALL of the colors in a palette. I made an exception once for a palette from a favorite brand that was marked way down. (I think it was on final clearance.) It has a dark pink sparkly color that I'll never use. The other colors are matte browns that I do use. It's small and good for travel. But other than that, I generally don't purchase palettes. The other 2 I own are a 5 shadow Mattes palette from L.A. Colors that I think cost $6. The formula is powdery, but it's not bad for the price. I also own the Smashbox Covershot Palette in Mattes. I like it because it has a mix of warm and cool colors, which is good for travel. And it has bigger pans of the base colors, which is unique.
So so agree. I have a few ( 2 big ones, a 6 pan, and a Christmas collection one …light pink cover). While my fav is the Christmas one, the others are just not extraordinary. Some of these indie brands have formulas that are on par with PMG. I reach for those a lot! Also, sponge tip applicators are sooooo useful with those special shades. One of my mothership has a few shades that are hard pan so that is definitely something I took notice of.
Smoke n Roses is a beautifully curated palette. I love that there’s no pressed glitter or glitter-matte shades in it! And the formulas in it are outstanding.
I have an olive skin color and all of the pallets you like for fall, I dislike. All of my favorites are your least favorites. It is amazing how much our skin tone can affect what is flattering. Maybe we should swap😆😆😆
You have a knack for doing these videos. Your presentations are just so appealing, interesting, and fun! Your skin looks flawless. The Huda Naughty looks gorgeous as do both Colourpop palettes.
As a hooded eye girl i completely agree on needing a light shimmer on the lid! Too many palettes lack a good variety of light shimmer shades. I use highlighters sometimes instead lol
So many reviewers raved about Pat McGrath palettes and her formula, so I bought the Divine Rose and one other one when there was a 40% off sale. I wasn't impressed. The special shades were cool, but I struggled to make a complete look with one palette AND honestly thought many indie palettes had equal or better shimmers. I agree with your assessment completely. I love the Naughty Nudes palette, also, but have actually used the Rose Quartz palette more. Naughty Nude autumn is coming though 😊
Totally agree! PMG just isn’t worth it to me. Everyone always says it’s worth it for the special shades but there’s only ever like 1 maybe 2 in a palette - out of 10 shades - that’s not enough to make it worth $129. Plus, compared to Indie quality - no way! I’d rather buy some Indie singles that are way better in shades I know I’ll use than spend PMG for 1 or 2 special ones and mediocre other shades. I LOVE Huda’s formula! The mattes are so easy to work with - pigmented but blend out so easy it takes me no time at all to do a look! The shimmers are always beautiful! I didn’t get Naughty Nudes because I’m not a red toned or warm toned shade person. But I had Retrograde and absolutely loved it and then I got Rose Quartz because I figured it would be a good companion Palette and absolutely love it. Though, I do think it is a companion palette to retrograde in a way, but it also has a lot of similar matte shades in it but not totally so I’m still very happy with it 😂 I do wish she’d come out with a full cool toned palette. I’d be all for that! Rose quartz definitely leaned more cool, which is why I was drawn to it, but still has some warmth to it. A cool toned with cool grays, black, blue, cool purples in her formula would be so nice!!!
I also agree I don’t think there anything special about pat mgrath eyeshadow I own one of her palettes I purchased for £69 don’t reach for it that often have other brands that do amazing eyeshadows for a cheaper price I don’t think the special shades are that special
I agree. I have a palette I bought 50% off and yet I think it was expensive, as I struggle to get a look out of a palette. Besides they always lack mates.
Your favorites are my favorites!! Yay! I was able to “score” the Naughty Nudes pallet at 40% off. LOVE it!! Also, I picked up Smoke and Roses on your recommendation a couple of months ago. LOVE it, too. Between that, Stone Cold Fox, Bare Necessities, Rock Candy, and my Doll 10, I have NO excuse to buy another pallet. Ever. Thanks, Jen!
This was super helpful, I keep meaning to order Sigma's Enchanted palette but I'm pale, too, so I would experience the same issues you did. I'd love to see more vids like this, a lot of us have a mental checklist of palettes we keep thinking about buying, even though they came out awhile ago.
I am totally in the minority but I am so over most palettes. There are very few new ones that interest me enough to buy them, so I just enjoy my little stack that I already have and my growing singles collection which I can use to build my own quads etc. That said I did just buy the new Nomad palette, it's the first one I have bought in a year and a half and I really like it so it was worth it. Needless to say I am good with eyeshadows now for quite a while. Fun video!
@@JenPhelps Cool! I hope you are liking it! And yes, it is a unique color story, cool toned muted colors, sign me up! I would be interested in your thoughts if you decide to do a video on it! 😁
I agree. I find i don’t use most of the shades in a palette, don’t use mid tones because of my eye shape, and I really don’t like metallics and heavy shimmers. I have taken apart my palettes and just saved the pans I use, and like you, am enjoying the colors curated by the person who knows me best: me!
I just bought an older pallet, Colourpop “It’s a Mood.” I am really excited about it. I love your work, Jen. Your non biased reviews definitely inspire me.
I automatically rule out palettes with only medium to dark colours these days. I have to put a lighter colour on my lid otherwise I just seem to look v tired! Emma x
Stone Cold Fox is in my top 5. It contains my all time favorite shadow - Magnetic Moon. You barely touch it and you can cover both eyes - so pigmented. I wasn't surprised to see the Profusion palettes. You introduced me to them and I'm glad you did. I have Huda Beauty Naughty Nudes but I prefer Mercury Retrograde and Rose Quartz. They aren't as deep. My #1 palette is Sydney Grace and Mel Thompson Tiny Marvels palette. It has one of my favorite kind of duochromes - the reddish green shade called Scarab. I notice that I am drawn to duochromes that look like that. I have to keep reminding myself that I already own it. Great video. I love these types of videos that get us thinking about most used vs. least used palettes in our collection. I know you have a lot of palettes but I'd love to see your top 10 or 20 palettes of all time. I had to expand mine to top 30 because I couldn't decide.
Oh I couldn’t agree more about Pat McGrath eyeshadows! (And everything else PM to be honest!) The quality is just not worth the price! And all of the palettes look so similar, it’s difficult to tell them apart 😳 I’d rather Colourpop any day! I bought one PM palette, and to be honest I was so underwhelmed for the price, but even if it had been 1/10 of the price, it’s still not one I reach for. And Jen, as always, thank you so much for not only talking about which palettes you regret buying, but recommending palettes you DO reach for. I have the Colourpop palettes, and LOVE them too. Another great review video 🎯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@kittykittysoftpaws I find that the drier formula of the matte shadows are hard to blend. It's probably just me though as most people seem to do well with their palettes. Also, and this is no fault of Juvias Place, I find I have to reach of other palettes that have lighter colors before using JV to put in my crease, I usually just use JV to darken the outer V. And I just don't seem to gravitate towards their palette.
I gave away my first Juvia’s Place palette years ago, the pigmentation was not there for me. Bought a different one a year ago for the pops of color, they’re a little better but take a lot of work to build up. Did I learn my lesson? Nope - picked up the coffee shop palette during Ulta’s 72-hour sale. Still working with it - but so far, one of the dark shades blends away to nothing & lighter shades take a lot of work to show up. Won’t get any more!! 🙄🤦🏽♀️😱
I often use the Pat McGrath palettes for one/two shadow looks. My favorite palette changes all the time. For a time, my favorite palette was Bronze Seduction V. Right now, I am into Subliminal I.
I've been doing a lot of decluttering lately. My most used palettes are the Milani Soft and sultry , so expired but is fine. I can't seem to let it go 😭 I dread the day that it stops performing well. I've got quite a few high end palettes but the old drugstore palette has my heart!
Maybe you could combine one of the deep/smokey palettes you don't use with the Pat McGrath Divine Rose so you could actually get your money's worth? A palette is a curation of colors based on how one person likes to do their eye makeup. Sure it's more convenient to only need 1 palette, but there's no need to limit yourself based on someone else's makeup preferences.
Excellent video. Thank you for explaining your reasoning behind your likes and dislikes. Makes me realize why I've gifted so many of the expensive pallets I've purchased and armed me with a good plan for moving forward. Love it! And I'm really eyeing up that Doll Squad 2.0 pallet. 💖
This was good. I agree with your first 5 being ones you don't use. I do have the Sigma small 5 pan enchanted palette, which I feel is better than the larger one. I have the original doll 10 palette which is great. And I have Hudas naughty nudes. Love that one, too. ❤ good explanations as always 😊
Oh I'm a hugee PMG lover! I love her motherships: the formula, color selection, the way the transformative topper shades can alter a look completely... bliss! Having said that, I have never purchased her palettes full price, always in sale.
You are making such an important point about a palette having the right tones and number of mattes to create depth in the transition area. This makes the now discontinued (and panned) UD mini Bailout, CT Pillow Talk and ND Biba my favourite palettes. The mattes are why I decluttered ND Glam and why I won’t be buying I need a Nude. I also decluttered 2 PML 6 pans. So beautiful to look at and worked beautifully but deep and smoky. My mature hooded eyes look best with a lighter lid too and my new favourite everyday look is a mix of single cream and powder shadows and I’m loving eyeliner again.
I love that some cosmetics companies are creating a palette in fair and a version in deep. What I need for transition shade is different from what someone else needs.
Yeah completely agree about not grabbing other palettes or single shadows when using a palette. But sometimes I do have a single black/dark brown shadow handy for those palettes that don’t have something dark enough but I paid too much for hahaha
I love how dark Dark Edit gets. Its always so interesting to see everyones different preferences for eyeshadows and makeup 😊 Also Divine Rose I broke my heart. That duochrome doesn't shift AT ALL on my eyelids yet it swatched so beautifully 😢
Thank you for your honest review Jen! Truly appreciate your honesty and your detailed explanation as to why you thought a specific palette was worth it or not.
Jen, another winner video!I don’t have any of the palettes you discussed, but I 100% agree with comments on Pat McGrath. I only have two quads, and both I got on sale. The price is just too much… love your ethereal golden background with candles, greens etc.
I love your channel. By far my favorite beauty RUclipsr. We are around the same age, have dryer skin, same exact sing tone and love sparkles. Only difference is I like colorfulness to go with my sparkles. Angelica Nyqvist for my colorful side but you are definitely my go to for everything else! Thanks for doing such a great job!!!
I also have the Smoke n Roses palette and I love it, it’s my pinky girl dream come true. And if I hadn’t the Going Coconuts and ND Glam palettes I’d definitely buy the Stone Cold Fox. My only regret is the Colourpop Coast to Coral palette. It’s beautiful but the oranges are too deep and bright for my liking and I only use this palette on summer. I much prefer the Colourpop Sweet Talk one, I find it much more versatile for spring and summer
I loved this video!!!! Fun to see other people’s opinions! The pat palette, did you try just packing the deep shade on and very lightly blending only the edges to keep depth? I’m guessing you probably have. That dark shade actually surprised me, I was expecting this palette to be way too light for me. I wasn’t going to get it but decided to give it a try on sale. And it surprised me that it can get deep. Deeper than I expected anyway. And I’m with you, I always need a dark outer corner. But this one seemed to work well for me, sorry it didn’t for you! And the ABH palette…. Everyone talks about loving the nouveaux palette so much, I didn’t like nouveaux but absolutely love rose metals, lol! I enjoyed your opinions, even though some are different.
Viseart palettes are easy to remove the pans and rearrange them, so i think they're meant to be used to built a custom palette from dark edit, light edit etc
The naughty nude looks so so good on you!!! I love that palette too! Naughty nude and rose quartz are my favorite large huda palettes! Oh and I agree with you on the abh rose metals that I wish it had a darker matte too. But, it’s still one of my faves.
I 100% agree with the least used palettes!! I feel the exact same, in fact, I didn’t even pick up that Anastasia palette because I could tell I wouldn’t use it.
2023 seems like people are speaking out about PML finally hahaha. I decluttered 2 motherships and all complexion products. Kept the blushes and holiday quints.
Speaking of Viseart palettes…I just got the little Lilas 4-pan palette, and it’s soooo pretty! It’s on the cool side and looks good on my fair/fish-belly white skin tone 😂
I want that Profusion Ethereal palette so bad. It looks so good, but I keep freaking forgetting about it lol. I have the Profusion Mirage palette, I keep sitting out constantly, because I’m always grabbing shades from it for my looks. The formula is pretty darn good! 😊
So, I agree with you on the palette by Mother Pat. Where I started to get lost- was the complaint about lack of lighter transition shades. Perhaps, this is the difference between a makeup reviewer and a professional makeup artist? All that you need to do to achieve a wide range of lighter shades is to mix a dark matte with a lighter shade. Also- if you use the correct eyeshadow brush? You can blend out any dark shade… practically to nothing. In specific- the Viseart palette- even the dark matte shades will blend out to be a wisp of the original shade. That’s why a lot of current palettes don’t have the need for a variety of light matte shades. 🤷♀️
The thing about Pat mattes is as well that you can create different depths with the same eyeshadow. Dip once and you have a light wash of colour, dip twice, a stronger colour and then you can build it up to reflect the shade in the pan.
I think you should consider the use of smudged liners to morph the color of shadows if you want something darker or lighter. Also consider layering a couple shadow shades to create different colors. Layering a couple of the Pat McGrath browns for depth, for example. A lot of those darker shades are actually color switches. Instead of thinking of only the usual it’s a “transition shade” that’s too dark for me think of different techniques. I rarely use that method, but I love blending to create colors. You can blend out a deeper shimmer where you isn’t normally put a darker matte. If you only apply your shadows in one way, you’re limiting yourself.
I love watching you. You have a beautiful review. I am olive light and green eyes. the pallets you showed are exactly my colors!!! I wasn't a a huge fan of cool tones, However the Stone cold is great. I am not always a pink person. I decluttered my Tarte too. It was hard to work with for me.
I’d honestly love to see a comparison between smoke and roses and the new ND palette. I feel like they’d line up pretty well. Didn’t notice that before
❤👍great idea for a video! I have some palettes like that- it’s useful to think through why so I don’t repurchase another similar product. The PMG stayed on my wish list long enough for me to realize that I wouldn’t get the use out of it to justify the cost. My regrets- Charlotte Tilbury big 12 pan Pillow Talk- too orange and red on me. A few more but that was the most expensive mistake. I love the PT quad- but it’s not as flat out orange.
I bought that CT palette too and to me, it was that all the shades were just too similar. No matter what shade you used, you would wound up with a similar, onedimensional, pinky look. I returned that one.
Oh man I wish bought the ColourPop Good Sport palette! Ha! I have a few PMG palettes and I have to confess I rarely reach for them! I have to ask myself this holiday season if I will buy another one and then just…leave it alone or maybe not buy it. I will probably just not buy it. You reminded me I have to pull out my Stone Cold Fox and Somke and Roses palettes! You sold me on the Huda Naughty palette! I am getting it next sale! You looked so lovely! Fun video❤
I don’t like the colourpop large palettes. I don’t find them overwhelming, I just never get them out. I have the sigma Cinderella palette I don’t wear much, I don’t like the formula. I also don’t wear my Natasha Denona palettes much. I tend to stick with my viseart and Sydney grace shadows, and the Huda rose quartz palette. I love seeing how diverse the interests in palettes is! What works for one doesn’t work for another, and there’s nothing wrong with that 😊
I'm such a palette mixer, it's a challenge for me to only use one palette! Unless it's something big like those colourpop ones. The patmcgrath and the viseart palettes would go lovely together. If you want to get some looks out of both of those anyway...
Same. Realistically, gotta have a cache of highlight & midtone to use with palettes. I don't understand wanting everything from ONE palette "but it can't be too big". Magnetic/removable pans would be the answer. But that wouldn't be profitable, would it?
I know I'm 7 months late here, but I literally just purchased the Tarte Maneater last night because of your original review. I come here today and see this review 😬 It's okay, though. I am probably considered light toned with dark hair. I always lean towards warm colors, not bright, just warm. I think they look best on me. Same with lip colors, darker is better for me. I know you like cool toned because of your skin color, so I get it. I'm just surprised about the Maneater one. Love your videos!! Can't wait to get it and see if I still love it😊
I do like the Viseart Dark Edit one. I like to put a dark color on the lid, and the mattes in that one are really good. I usually have to use a different palette with it for the transition shade.
First of all...I hereby acknowledge both my own and your (Jen) addiction to eyeshadow palettes!! I have waaay too many. But thanks what's crappy before we waste our $$!
Sigma is my #1 favorite formula. I have all the big palettes except Stephanie’s colab. Enchanted is one of my favs. The consistency of all Sigmas is perfection ❤❤
I have hooded eyes as well, but instead of using lighter shades to bring the lid space forward as you mentioned, I need deeper shades to contour the eye. I save lighter shades for the very center of the lid and the inner corner.
I never use my colorpop makeup and have stopped buying it. The formulas just don’t cut it for me. I’m more of a luxury or high end fan. I was disappointed with Divine Rose when I bought it and it sat in my drawer for probably 2 years when I finally decided to try it. Now I don’t know what was wrong with me. It’s fabulous. I love to use my Viseart to create custom palettes but otherwise the dark edit by itself is too dark for me too. I often use 2-3 palettes to do my makeup but I also create custom palettes.
I did a look today with Divine Rose that I loved. I kind of always felt the same, that there wasn't enough depth. I used cream, brown, & black bases along the lid and used the matte transitiion shade mixed with the bronze himmer in the crease. It definitely showed me the palette can do more than I thought. I did a light lower lashline to balance the top lid. I like the pink shade on the upper left or Rose Metals in the crease, I think it works well and gives another option to go with those burgundy shades where you don't want wsrmth.
2 of my faves in the regrets category! But, like you said, nothing works for everyone. I want to do this same video idea on my channel soon! I'll be sure to credit you and link to your video!!!! Also, Naughty Nudes is a top fave for me!
Thanks, Jen, what an interesting and fun video! I really appreciate your views on some of those higher end palettes. I've been on the fence about some of them, but I think I would have the same thoughts on them that you do, since I have a very similar coloring to you and I also have hooded eyes. The Doll 10 palette reminds me of the Profusion Nudes palette (that I bought because of your review, lol - and I love it and reach for it all the time).
The Doll 10 palette is so well done! that it has a matte and shimmer highlighter shade, multiple undertone transitions, matching darker shades and a darker mid tone shimmer. majority of palettes sold don't. I've been thinking since last fall to invest in CP mega palettes and declutter redundant palettes. I could easily create smaller palettes with the removable pans. The only thing holding me back is feeling silly & guilty having bought so many palettes already 😶😅 but on a daily basis I am juggling 3 to 5 different palettes to find all the shimmers and mattes in the right depth and undertone to make a cohesive look. I'm very fair and neutral... Differences in undertone and depth others say are the same show up clearly on me
Great video, and I appreciate you mentioning the deeper palettes might work for deeper skin tones. And yes there are black women that follow you ❤. Many many of the brands are now starting to have a balance in the shades they put out, some will be perfect for fairer skin tones and some will be perfect for the skin tones with more melanin. Pat McGrath mothership palettes require a much higher skill set than I possess in order to get your money’s worth. And while she is an African American mua I think most of her palettes are flattering on everyone but imo they won’t give many practical looks for everyday wear thus making them grossly overpriced.
Hi Jen, I hope all is going well with your health. I have to say that I love the Profusion Harvest palette and I did not get it when it came out, I was hesitent because I don't always have the best of luck with their products. I was happy to see that they have a website and with your recommendation I put it in my cart! Thanks!💚
Thank you Cindy, I'm doing great...no more cancer! :) I'm so glad you like the Profusion palette too! I don't always love their palettes but these were special.
Hi Jen, Patrick Ta palettes are the only high end palettes I buy and I do like Two Faced palettes too. I don't have any of the palettes you don't use and I am so glad. I love Colourpop Stone Cold and I have lots of their palettes large and small. I am so thankful for all you do for us Jen because your videos are very helpful to me. Alter Ego I like and Doll 10 and your brushes of course. Thank you so much and I enjoyed this video so much too Jen. 💗❤🥀💐🌺🪴
I have Stone Cold Fox thanks to you. Am ready to pull the trigger on that Doll 10. I believe it was out of stock the last time I looked for it. Smoke N Roses looks good but I'm not a big fan of CP's formula. I find it hard to blend and a bit chalky.
Jen!! Love this video idea! So FUN! I NEVER use any of my Pat McGrath and it’s so sad because they are so much money and everyone says how awesome they are. I had to convince myself not to buy the new one! I still had the ABH Rose metals on my list so I am so glad you don’t agree lol because now I know I won’t like it either! Thanks to you I bought both the Doll 10 eyeshadow palettes and I love them. Huda Naughty nudes is my favorite fall palette! Awesome video Jen 🩷
I respect your opinions and enjoyed your video! I would like to add some insight as a makeup artist, so just food for thought 🤍 You will elevate your skill and grow as a makeup user when you learn to utilize shimmer (or similar) shades to deepen or shape looks and learn how to use smokier shimmers that will work for your eyes and shape. I used to use and look at palettes the way that you do, but it is very limiting and will limit what palettes you use out of ease. I mean this is the most kindest way! It’s easier to get in a makeup rut doing makeup that way. Also your opinions on Pat McGrath is a very basic consumer opinion, which is GREAT for your line of work as a reviewer but in case you didn’t know her palettes weren’t made for consumers they were made for her students in the avant guard space, even though she is heading in the consumer direction. Either way, loved to hear your opinions on these palette 🙏🏽
I thought i was the only one who preferred the large colourpop palettes over the small ones. I've gotten rid of most of my smaller colourpop palettes in favour of my large ones. Plus CP overlaps a lot of their palettes colour stories so i find jusr focusing on their larger ones easier and slightly less repetitive.
I’m glad you explained the Enchanted palette and why you don’t use it. That palette has been on my wishlist since it came out but I’ve never picked it up. Now hearing your opinion on it I’m scratching it off the list. Now the Doll Squad palette is at the top of my list! Would you know if Doll10 often has sales or do free shipping?😊❤️💄

The Enchanted palette is one of my favourite ones in my collection, but I do reach for other palettes for transition shades. My collection is quite small so that's no issue for me. The green topper can be equally sheer as the pink/purple one. Loved the video and the thoroughness with your thoughts.
I think it’s ultra important to know thyself when purchasing eyeshadow. When I first started with my makeup obsession, eyeshadow was a big thing for me. I went through a phase where I wanted every single pallet launch. 😢I recently cut my pallets down quite a bit because I’ve finally realized what I like to wear and not wear when it comes to eyeshadow. I want so badly to be the jewel tone fall girly but I’m not. I really just want a very nice olive green and a couple of nice rust shades. 😂 I’ve made a plan to No buy for eyeshadow pallets and I’ve really started to invest more in my complexion products and skincare instead.
You're absolutely right! If I didn't have this job to review the new palettes I would do the exact same thing...stop listening to the hype and FOMO and just buy what I know I'll use and looks good on me.
I’d like to try that Viseart palette you showed, I’m all about good pigmentation in palettes! I just received the Huda Beauty Lovefest palette - don’t know if you’d like the color scheme but I’m generally very pleased with that brand. 👍🎉🤗
I think what I have learned from your video is, stick to what is best to enhance your eye shape, and what is a palette you will “actually use” and will look good with your skin stone. Great video Jen 💜👏
Love this video! I like hearing what reviewers actually love and reach for in their collections rather then just saying they love it and then never using it again. I want to do this video myself!
This is a good one!! Have you tried any of the beautiful eye palettes from Florasis? I just ordered one to give a try! Mostly suckered in by the gorgeous stamping in them!

Excellent point. I'm really pale, so colors that would be too light for most people work well on me. The darker colors...well, I use them on my outer corner, or as eye liner. And sometimes on my brows.

I have never bought a pat mcgrath palette. Even with a sale, I just can't justify paying that much money for one palette.
@@jenniferstepps I was at Marshall's yesterday and saw the holiday one. With the red packaging. I didn't like the shades.
The indie brands are just as good
You're right
Smoke n Roses is a beautifully curated palette.
Jen, I don’t know how you keep coming up with such amazing and creative video ideas! I loved this!
You have a knack for doing these videos. Your presentations are just so appealing, interesting, and fun! Your skin looks flawless. The Huda Naughty looks gorgeous as do both Colourpop palettes.
Aw thank you so much! :)
😊l
😮❤ That should be really pretty!! (the autumn version)
Lit came looking for this vid...didn show up on my feed so came straight to your channel..here it was 😊
This video has been comforting. I’m in bed, wanted something relaxing and your video felt like pre - 2017🥹 thank you xo
This was super helpful, I keep meaning to order Sigma's Enchanted palette but I'm pale, too, so I would experience the same issues you did. I'd love to see more vids like this, a lot of us have a mental checklist of palettes we keep thinking about buying, even though they came out awhile ago.
Stone Cold Fox is one of favorites too, plenty of flattering combinations in that one
You just reminded me I have the Viseart Dark Edit palette 😂 I have to use it this Fall!
Fun video!
I got the Nomad palette too! It's the most interesting color story I've seen in a while!
Is Nomad the brand or the name of a palette, and if so, which brand? (I need to get out more…lol!)
@@lesliehatch-herman9325Nomad Cosmetics is the brand. Ghost Town USA is the name of their newest eyeshadow palette. It looks gorgeous!!
It's so funny how we all are so different yet so similar. I love colorful eyeshadow, but I love watching your channel. You are my favorite channel.
I just bought an older pallet, Colourpop “It’s a Mood.” I am really excited about it. I love your work, Jen. Your non biased reviews definitely inspire me.
Ooh I love that one!
I'm glad you're doing better now Jen. ❤ my palette regrets are all Juvias Place. I love pink Sigma palette!
Do u mind sharing why are they regrets?
Is be interested in knowing the reasons too!
I'm not a fan of Juvia's Place formula of her pallets either. Now her liquid blush and her partner blush and her lip products are phenomenal!
Your videos are always so thoughtful and thorough. I so enjoy them. Thank you, Jen.
I've been doing a lot of decluttering lately. My most used palettes are the Milani Soft and sultry , so expired but is fine. I can't seem to let it go 😭 I dread the day that it stops performing well. I've got quite a few high end palettes but the old drugstore palette has my heart!
I still love my Soft & Sultry too! I haven't used it in a while but it's SO good! I miss that formula.
Hope you can make an updated vid on how to maximise the use of LARGE palettes using CP Smoke n Roses.❤
Thank you Jen🙏🏻
How many eye looks can you get from one CP mega palette?!
❤ good explanations as always
😊
Thanks Najette! I have the mini Sigma Enchanted and I agree, I like it better also!
You are one of the makeup youtubers I always watch for eyeshadow collections and swatches. I love how thorough you are
I keep that stone cold fox pallet in my cart at ULTA and I’ve almost bought it 10 times lol!!! Ugh it’s so pretty 🤍🤎🖤🤍🤎🖤🤍🤎🖤
I believe the Colourpop large palettes have the best Colourpop formula...
Jen,
I cannot wait to try that Profusion Harvest palette! Love the doll palette and your brushes.
Thanks Jen
I love how dark Dark Edit gets. Its always so interesting to see everyones different preferences for eyeshadows and makeup 😊
Also Divine Rose I broke my heart. That duochrome doesn't shift AT ALL on my eyelids yet it swatched so beautifully 😢
I did go back to watch the old video,it was tremendously helpful thank you Jen❤.
That’s what I do, and the way Jen feels about her Doll 10 is the way I feel about Viseart.
I've been thinking of using Viseart to BYOP. Mac isn't so great. Makeup Geek is gone. Sydney Grace is amazing but I can't find enough cool tones.
Colourpop is my favorite brand from few years and this 2 pallets i also have and so many beautiful looks you can create 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Since buying that Doll10 2.0 pallet, it’s the one I reach for the most vs my ND pallets, another great video, I so look forward to your videos.❤
Their palettes seem like really good bang for your buck
@@FourJaysFour and no glitter fallout, yes please
That harvest palette looks so unique! That's calling my name now
What's on your cheeks? I love the color, glow, and placement
Luv my profusion harvest, n ethereal palettes!! Everytime I wear eyeshadow from them I get compliments!!!😊❤❤
Maybe I need to try Divine Rose again! Sometimes when you go back to something after a while it changes your opinion. :)
I don’t know why.. but i always forget about the naughty palette! Thanks for the reminder!
The only thing holding me back is feeling silly & guilty having bought so many palettes already 😶😅 but on a daily basis I am juggling 3 to
5 different palettes to find all the shimmers and mattes in the right depth and undertone to make a cohesive look.
I just picked some viseart with their 50% off sale 😊
They make some of my favorite palettes! But Dark Edit was a bust for me. I love their formula...so good!
I have Stone Cold Fox thanks to you. Am ready to pull the trigger on that Doll 10. I believe it was out of stock the last time I looked for it. Smoke N Roses looks good but I'm not a big fan of CP's formula. I find it hard to blend and a bit chalky.
Jen, loved this video. TY! But i couldn’t stop staring at your 💅🏽 What polish(es) are you wearing?
$129 for a palette is insane! Natasha Denona is the queen and her palettes are worth every penny
didn't she charge 125 for her La Cirque pallet?
And wasn't Biba also very pricey?
Her big palettes are the same price as Pat McGrath’s. The midi sizes are in the $62 range…
Not for me
before inflation, Pat Mcgrath were $125. Natasha $129 / $65 / $25 I think
That top is really pretty on you!
I'm sitting here saying "Stone Cold Fox" 😂 before you say it.😊
😂😂😂 you know me too well!
Yeah I'm with you on that $129 Pat McGrath palette.. for that amount of money a better do my laundry and take the garbage out as well!
They do have sales pretty often! Definitely check with them. I also have a 15% off code it's JENDOLL15, so it saves a little bit. :)
@@JenPhelps yes! I wrote down your code! And I signed up for their emails! 😍
Doll10 used to be on QVC, I think, but I haven’t been on that channel for several years!
@@lesliehatch-herman9325 I was addicted to qvc years ago! It was when I discovered beauty RUclips in 2017 that I stopped watching qvc. Now beauty RUclips is my new addiction 😬
I love the stone cold fox palate!!
With you 100%. I switched to K-beauty and my skin is glowing!
Thank you for digging into these palettes more deeply! And, of course, for the best swatches on all of social media!
I’d like to try that Viseart palette you showed, I’m all about good pigmentation in palettes! I just received the Huda Beauty Lovefest palette - don’t know if you’d like the color scheme but I’m generally very pleased with that brand. 👍🎉🤗
I really like Huda's formula too!
Gosh I just love your videos so much Jen, thank you so much for your wonderful videos ❤❤❤
Smoke n Roses is one of my very fav palettes!!!💗
Tbh I always wish PM could make single eyeshadows of their shimmer shades.
This is a good one!! Have you tried any of the beautiful eye palettes from Florasis? I just ordered one to give a try! Mostly suckered in by the gorgeous stamping in them!
Hi Jen! I just picked up the Stone Cold Fox. Love the colors. Thank you.
Hello 👋🏻 new here! I have only recently watched about 3 of your videos but I’m subscribing, I enjoy your make up content! I have never even tried the palettes you don’t reach for because my budget doesn’t go that high LOL I have wanted both of those colourpop palettes though and this makes me want them more! I just don’t really have the space for more large palettes
Aw thank you so much for subscribing...welcome!
I feel seen by this! I do agree about the PMG Divine Rose. I never use mine!
