    The latest version of the PID has a fast heat up mode, which is quite awesome. With this we get a perfect temperature in about 8 minutes. Really great improvement.

    Great video. Is it hard to up the steam pressure and does that void your warranty?

  • @soumynonareverse7807
    @soumynonareverse7807 5 месяцев назад +1

    How does it compare to a Silvia Pro X? You mentioned that it was easy to replace the PID. Will you void your warranty if you replace it yourself?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  5 месяцев назад

      Hi s, It's unlikely one would need to replace any PID components like the temp probe, display or control box. Would not void warranty if done at direction of our tech support team.

    I have a Profitec Go. One of my pet peeves with that machine is when I put a scale under my cup, the scale always gets wet on the underside from the solenoid valve discharge. Does the sane thing happen with this machine?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi ms, thanks for the question. Splashing is a possibility on most machines with a solenoid discharge so it may happen on the 300. You could try leaving some water in the drip tray to help absorb force of discharge and reduce splashing.

    No auto shot button.
    Do we have to stop manually when pulling shot? Is there fast way to pull shot without scale??

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hi OB, that's correct - manual start/stop. Scale is recommended but if no scale suggest slightly overfilling double shot basket, level off with finger, then tamp. Goal is to produce ~2oz/60ml in your cup by liquid volume including the crema in the measurement in ~25 seconds.

    @wholelattelove is there any tricks that can be done on this machine to get “pre infusion” just purchased the machine with you all and am curious if you know of any tips or options!

    The Pro 300 uses a brass boiler are they using eco brass that is lead free?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  19 дней назад

      Hi KC, yes, all brass used in current espresso machines meets EU/US standards for lead safety.

    I own a profitec pro 300 and regularly back flush with Cafiza (once in 45 days). My use is 2 milk based drinks a day.
    My question is do I only blackflush for PP300 care & maintenance or I have to also add citrus acid solution in the reservoir with water and run the entire machine along with steam wand, hot water and group gasket with that solution? To clear mineral deposits to parts hiding under the hood.
    Thanks in advance!

      @Wholelattelovepage  7 месяцев назад

      Hi r, thanks for the question. Backflush schedule with Cafiza sounds good! You can also backflush with plain water as much as you like. Heavy users might do that daily or out to weekly for average home use. In general, manufacturers recommend end users do not descale dual boiler machines. Best course of action is to treat water so it does not create scale in the first place. Best option for that is calcium to magnesium ion exchange filters from BWT. They reduce calcium to the point no scale will form in machine yet maintain the mineral level needed for good flavor and corrosion protection.

    According to your filter adaptor product page, the BWT Bestcup Filter Adapter will no longer work with the Profitec (as of the 2024 water tank update). ??

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  Месяц назад +1

      Hi L, that's correct. Some of the newer Profitec machines have changed the input style in the reservoir so the Bestcup adapter does not fit.

    Nice video, congratulations! I had to return my Gaggia Classic, and now I'm undecided between Rancilio Silvia Pro X and Profitec Pro 300, what would you recommend? Thank you!

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hey fabio, Thanks for the comment and question. They are fairly similar machines, dual boiler with brew boiler mounted directly atop the ring group. The Pro X is a somewhat more complex design using 2 vibration pumps. That's very unique - I don't know of any other machine using 2 pumps. It also has a unique water sensor in the reservoir which uses water level to create air pressure to a sensor within the machine. My thing to be aware of with the Pro X is the rather small size of the drip tray. Very shallow and you have to tip it slightly to remove for emptying. I do like the Pro X display up high. Easy to see and use. It has some functions not found on the 300 like programmable soft pre-infusion and automatic boiler draining available. The Pro X has a brew pressure gauge and no boiler pressure gauge. Pro 300 has boiler pressure gauge and no brew pressure gauge. Pro 300 display is down low and harder to view. Finishing of the Pro 300 is nicer and a little less utilitarian the Pro X. I recommend both machines. Personally I'd take the Pro 300 as the small drip tray of the Pro X bothers me and I prefer simpler internal design. Choice really comes down to what features are important to you. Gauge difference no big deal for me as I rarely pay attention to brew pressure. Extraction timing and visual cues tell me what I need to know. For boiler pressure the displays tells me steam boiler temp which is all I need.
      Hope that helps!

    Why don’t they make the Profitec Go in this finish? I almost ended up going with Ecm casa v or bezzera new hobby simply because I like they way they look more. But ultimately pid outweighed looks. So far I feel I made the right choice

      Hi mm, For higher steam pressure you'd adjust the pressurestat inside the machine.
