... so that flat board that you showed towards the end is used for balayages. It makes applying the color to the hair strands much easier than trying to apply it without a flat, hard surface. I'm sure that you have discovered its uses, but just in case you haven't, that's what it is. 😉 ...they didn't include those in our kits when I went to Aveda. There were a couple of things you all got that we didn't get. Although, I think that we got better mannequins. I wish you every success in your cosmetology school experience. Enjoy!!!
Yes I eventually discovered what the balayage board was for lol. With every new class Aveda tends to tweak the kits a bit. I did also notice previous classes did get better mannequins like the Debra. Thank you!
@Alana Maree yeah. We got 3 Debras and three Catherine mannequins, I bought several more of both. If you try to buy them now, they're significantly more expensive than they were when I was in school. But your thermal supply bag and a couple of other items in your tool kit we didn't get. Even your IPad was bigger, I'm not complaining though, we did alright with our tool kits 😉. I went to Aveda Institute, D.C. in January of 2017, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I'm so happy for you, I hope that your experience is top of the line amazing and that you go on to be a legendary stylist. wow that is pricey I paid 1500 for my kit and got way more supplies and great quality. I did not get a tablet though. congrats on your journey to become a coametologist.
What school do you go to?
Do you take that big bag to class? Or just some of the smaller bags/ carrying case??
We get lockers each new phase, so we put the duffel bag and our tool kit in there until we need something out of it.
I’m hoping to start there soon!! What have you thought about the program?
The cosmetology program is a lot of fun, but also requires a lot of hard work and dedication for sure, you can do 1000 hours or 1500 hours.
Can you film a video about what you wear so I can get some ideas 😊

All black all the time, with your Aveda issued apron and name tag. No opened toe shoes. Short nails.
Im going for esthetician and i start in December of 20th and im worried about my loan of paying it back. My loan is 11,118 whats happens if i cant pay it back by in 6 months?? Will ypu graduate anyway? Or did people quit because they couldn't afford it??
Congratulations on starting! You’re tuition is handled through your financial aid/FAFSA. Typically you make monthly payments and your student loan provider will offer you a reasonable payment plan that begins 6 months after graduation.

In my highschool, I get to go to cosmetology class and my kit is gonna be $500.
Also, my kit probs won't have a tablet lol seeing as it is only $500 lol.
