"Somewhere, someplace, somebody's got to start believing this book, .... and acting on it .... and I figure it might as well be us" Simple but profound

Like nobody else ever did that till Wimber arrived? Can't you see the arrogance in that statement bro

Experiencing a touch from God and his feeling presence changes your life forever. God still uses miracles to get peoples' attention.

I totally understand what he is talking about here. I have wanted this too, and I dont understand why we dont go forth on Sunday as a body of believers and do "the stuff" Jesus did and is doing. I too have felt frustrated by this. Particularly because I think it would be good to do as a group and for new Christians to learn how to preach the gospel and witness to others by the example of mature Christians. How many people with you on church on Sunday actually go into the world in their daily lives and do this? Im going to start a church that does exactly this. Maybe this would really be worship of the Lord? To follow in his footsteps and go out into the world on Sunday and preach His word rather than just sit in a building and worship just amongst our fellow believers. Why does worship have to be confined to a building? The "CHURCH" isnt a building. WE are the "church".

It's not the miracles that will change the world as God intends. Rather, God commands us to know His Word and preach it to others. The essence of Jesus' ministry was not on the miracles and the works, but on His gospel messages. The miracles simply validated his identity and authority. Relying on miracles is a superficial way that undermines the sufficiency and power of the Scriptures.

It is also heretical to compare the devil and God on the basis of letting people "do the work". Simply saying that since the devil let him do the devil's work, God must let him do God's work is illogical and ignorant of God's attributes. Rather, it should be apparent that the impacts of the Word can trump the works of the devil, and that they should not be put on the same line.

JesusIsLordYeh I'm so blessed for being a part of the John Wimber vineyard days. It showed me what being a real Christian is. It's not just preaching the word it's also doing the stuff.

I don’t know how long ago this video was originally recorded.
But guess what - by the grace of God alone, I can say that it was a perversion of the Gospel then.
And - (no surprise) - it still is now
Truth never changes - it was the truth then and still is the truth now.
Also (and in the context of what is recorded in this clip) - untruth never changes - it was untruth then and still is untruth now.

I did not come to christ to do the stuff, i came as a sinner who needed salvation, later as i went on in him i was led to see the lord doing his work through me and others in the body of christ. It is God who works in us to will and to do of his good pleasure. The lack of reverence and praying directly to the holy spirit, which is unbiblical opened up many false ways by this mans style. God is not joke material for a stand up comic.

We are instructed in Matt 10:7 and 8 to not only preach the Gospel, but to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and cast out demons. This is "the stuff" he was talking about.
Woe to the churches who only teach the Word and do not pteach the power of the Holy Spirit, nor practice the spiritual gifts so necessary to equip believers.

I’m interested as to what verse you get, “Praying directly to the Holy Spirit, which is unbiblical” from. Can you point to it? In context?
