      EM...no? First Brother Dawn wasn't killed by her, he got betrayed by her. That doesn't justify that kind of punishment.
      Demerzel killed Brother Dawn because Dawn was different (due to the fact that his DNA was altered and that wasn't Azuras fault; since she is supposed to be the same age as Dawn she was practically a baby back then when they messed with the Cleon's DNA) Also, if someone is different it is not a reason to kill him/her.
      If your child was betrayed and you come up with that kind of punishment (killing all the people who had something to do with the betrayer, putting the betrayer in a cell, chained and sensory shrouded for a lifetime which is far worse than what the betrayer did) makes you basically a psychopath.
      Really, I am worried by your statement "if you have the ressources..." and that others agree to it.
      Brother Day is a psychopath. He is pure sadistic here. He is not angry at Demerzel for killing Dawn. He is just a power hungry egocentric maniac who loves to scare people who are socially below him and to punish them to satisfy his sadistic tendencies.

    I think the punishment may not be as prolonged as Day would have wished. That sort of sensory deprivation is likely to wig out Azura and turn her into a mindless vegetable. Even being in a float tank overnight can leave people a bit "weird". And there is still some sensory input happening. So the chances of Azura zoning out into zombie status and not remaining "aware" are quite high. Still pretty nasty though.

      @ciarandwynvil273 Год назад +1

      I respectfully disagree. The conspirators have nothing better to offer, and the Cleons have been pretty good shepherds for the people of the empire. Even Salvor's daddy admitted that he had had it good in the empire. His parents were of the upper working class, no nobles or anything, and they enjoyed damn good lives. That he chose to follow a religious zealot into an exile, well, that's not exactly the emperors' fault. He just said that the good stuff he had gladly enjoyed had been built on lies - but what lies he meant, that got never specified. Until Hari came along with his predictions of doom, the empire was a stable realm, predictable, orderly, and not prone to cruelties towards its population. That is not a small deal, and it speaks well of the ruling dynasty.
      Alas, it seems that a few malcontents were hell bent not to respect and enjoy the peace.

    Cleon is turning out to be an incredibly compelling villain. I find villains to be most compelling when their actions lie within some kind of moral grey area. For example, Cleon did brutally cull half of the population of two whole planets, but it was in response to a catastrophic terror attack. And as he points out, he has to be a leader and sometimes has to make decisions without considering the individual. If he considered every individual then he would not be able to make the difficult decisions that need to be made in order to keep the peace. The fact that he gives some justification for his heinous actions makes him a very interesting character to me. I believe that he believes he is doing the right thing.

      Well this Brother Day Cleon is very different from Brother Dusk Cleon (the Cleon that culled 2 planets). The latter was arrogantly sadistic which you can notice the difference in behaviour with the former (Brother Dawn all grown up). • @soul.searcher333
