So a couple of tips because I just did this with the help of this video: 1. Video didn’t explain how to put the pins back in at the end and I spent too long fiddling with them to try to push them back in. Easiest way is to first pull the middle part of the pin out of the secondary part, then stick the secondary part into the hole in the car. Then you put the middle part of the pin back in and it should snap into place pretty easily. 2. The video didn’t seem to mention the very breakable clip holding my 2013’s plastic cover into place above the tire. When I went to move the plastic part open so I could find the light, I snapped the plastic clip right off. It took some fiddling not to do the same thing on the other side but I managed not to break it by pulling open the bottom slightly first and then carefully pushing the plastic back where the clip is to move it off of the metal(?) part of the car and be able to access the light. This may take a little bit of arm power to do just right (mainly putting it back into place at the end) so if you’re kind of frail you may want to get a hand. Lastly, do yourself a huge favor and turn your tire before you start to give yourself ample room. The first side took me so much longer than necessary because I didn’t realize he had done that and I was having to squeeze in between the tire to do everything. All in all, I got the job done! Props to all the other ladies here doing this without a guy’s help 💪🏽
2013, Do you have to use your high beams just to see the road? There is a recall on 13-16 Altimas where u get new headlights assemblies if you call your local dealership and set up an appointment, it took a lawsuit for this to finally happen... The projectors for the low beams are faulty and the reflective part turns white after 2-3 years due to heat, and eventually your low beams barely emit any light when driving. I just bought the best "non LED" bulbs and NOTHING changed, looked online, and was mind-blown to find this out. I remember a headlight recall coming in the mail a year or so ago, but forgot all about it... Tens of thousands of people got charged 1k from the dealership for new OEM headlights for nearly 10yrs before Nissan finally issued the recall after getting sued.
This was so helpful and easy to follow along with!! Since this was my first time changing a car bulb, me bit longer than 5 minutes😂 i rewatched your video like 8 times! Manipulating the shield was where I struggled the most, especially putting it back on! Thank you so, so much!
Thank you for this 😊Took me and my daughter 3 minutes to change out both low beams. We appreciate the easy to follow tutorial. After a few warnings from police officers, I decided to tackle this one myself 😂.
I am a female that does not know anything about a car... but thanks to your video you walked me completely through the process of changing my own bulbs... you are awesome & thanks a million
Every other video I saw either already had that out or they said remove bumper and headlight but I knew there was a simpler way thank you for your video
Thank you Sir! 🙏Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video for us. So very helpful! You made my day! God bless you today and always with good health, happiness, and good fortune! 👍
I have a 2018 Altima SL. Once I get the plug out, mine had 2 tabs on the left and right of it you have to just pull out a bit , so you can pull the bulb out. You can just use your thumb, its easy and voila. Thanks for this
Yea, have them eat the 1k bill by taking them up on the headlight recall... Can you see the road with your low beams anymore? The projector gets so hot it turns white and won't reflect light after 2 years or so, forcing nearly everyone with a 13-18 Altima to have to use their brights at all times. It took a lawsuit for them to issue the headlight recall.
I tried to get mine changed under the recall a couple of years ago and they told me my 2016 wasn't included and they wouldn't cover it. The guy was also a total jerk on the phone. I've been driving with dangerously dim headlights for years because I didn't want to pull off the whole front end cladding, bumper & grill. I don't know if changing the 8 yr old bulbs will help, but if I can do it in less than an hour, it's worth a try! Thanks!
My 2014 Altima sv 2.5 head lamps got replaced free of charge due to a lawsuit that started last February. It’s not a recall it’s a lawsuit. Please google the information. My lights were so dim I had to drive at night with high beams on nonstop
Every dealer I've called said it ended in 2021..... even though the lawsuit was settled in 2022. They want 1100 to replace it now. Bought some led bulbs to bypass the bad light housing.
If your 2013-2016 Altima low beams are VERY Dim and you have to use high beams to see the road, there is a recall for all owners after a recent lawsuit, and you will get completely new headlight assemblies (no warranty needed).... Changing bulbs does nothing for the low beams due to the projector housing turning white due to getting too hot over 1-3yrs, and can no longer reflect nor project light properly, forcing you to use your high beams to see the road... i got the brightest non LED lights before knowing this and nothing changed... Luckily they finally issued the recall in 2022 after tens of thousands of people signed a document for Nissan to fix this after those people paid 500-1k out of pocket for new OEM headlight units.... SMH If you have this issue, call your local Nissan dealership asap, no warranty needed!
Those things heat up real fast. I tested one for a few seconds and grabbed it without thinking. I saw the smoke before I felt it melting my fingerprints off. Not a great start to my day lol
This is the worst advice. Any of you guys can take! This is in a very tight area, and you will very much end up breaking the lightbulb assembly! Take it from someone that learned the hard way! There’s no easy way around this you have to remove the headlight
Japanese cars I have owned have far long outlasted the American cars I have owned with regular maintenance alone. And they were bought new. Also owned a Korean car (Hyundai) that did about as well as my American cars. I believe quality of cars are getting better outside of Japan, but Japanese cars are the kings in quality in my book. The only country whose cars I would get outside of Japan are German, but for the superior ride and not for the quality.
I just replaced both of my bulbs after watching this. I can’t believe it really was that easy. Thank you!
😂 took me about 20 minutes but I did it …THANK YOU ❤
I’m a mechanic now 😅🥴
Saw a few videos on this same thing and none were as helpful as yours. Thanks!!!

THANK YOU!!! Been trying to figure out how to put the clips back in for the last hour and your comment saved me.
@@andrewlikes no problem! It took me forever to figure it out and then the other side was such a breeze :)
You literally watched a video of a guy showing you how to do this. Gurl pwr.
@@Tabrox5 yikes dude, you read my whole comment on a random car maintenance video and it made you respond that way? Go be a bummer elsewhere lol

Thanks brother, I was trying to pull the bulb out without watching your video, will try again tomorrow but pretty confident I can get it swapped
Thank you for this video!!! Took me like 5 minutes to change both by myself!! ❤❤
Every other video I saw either already had that out or they said remove bumper and headlight but I knew there was a simpler way thank you for your video
Great video thanks for walking me through changing my bulb Great teacher
Your video is very helpful. Most start with the cover already peeled open. Leaving out a crucial step for the car care confused.. me. Thank you.
LIFE SAVER!!! I JUST CHANGED MY LIGHT AT 5AM!
Best video ive found. Step by step and good video quality. Thanks

3:14 how did you take the bulb out right there? Which slot did you use? I tried both and it’s not working
You saved my butt with this video. Thank you so much!
I appreciate this video . Thank you kindly
Nice tutorial
My 2013 has dim low beam lights but bright lights work fine, will chamging bulbs help?
Works for a 2009 Altima too!! Same thing big help
Estaba intentando por arriba, hasta que vi tu video. Muy bueno. Gracias
Do you put the pins back in when done??
Yes
I did it for both sides and only one side still works. Video was helpful but light still does not work. Could it be a shortage in a wire?
Step by step great video

Did you get this done this year. I see that it was a settlement case last year but looks like I have to pay out of pocket for lights
ITS now over. Too late for the rest of us
I thought it was covered up to 6 years😭😭
Same here. That offer came and went on my 2013. Now it's my time and money to do it myself😖

Thanks for the help, was putting this off because I thought it would be a pain couldnt be more wrong
So I got H9 silver star bulbs and now I can only get the high beams to work the low beams won't come on ?
Thanks a lot Brother.
God Bless You.
But will this fix the dim light situation?
No, unfortunately. You have to replace the whole assembly.

What do you mean dim light? The orange light ?
You can buy led lights and it will make your vis way better. Huge difference.
Stock lights are terrible on this car
Thank you ,worked great
Thank you for the video 👌💯🙏
Thank you so much it worked perfectly 😅
Thank you so much 😊

I can’t believe they did the lights like this. I just love having to take apart a bunch of shit to change a headlight
Can you not simply pop the hood on a Nissan and twist the bulb out from the top like most cars? Seems like a major design flaw.
Bro that bulb was HOT as hell after I tested it
Those things heat up real fast. I tested one for a few seconds and grabbed it without thinking. I saw the smoke before I felt it melting my fingerprints off. Not a great start to my day lol
Just like you said thanks so much
Thank you brother.
Very helpful video. For my first time
I ordered a h11 and it does not fit in the bracket. It’s a 2015 Nissan altima
Thanks!
thanks
Thank you Sr!!!!
works for a 2016, headlight H11
it wouldnt be easier to remove the wheel?...like the shop manual says....???
Seeing as how that is the exact same thing he's doing but with an extra step, no, it wouldn't be easier to remove the wheel.
My problem is that you can't pull the wire out enough.
👍👍👍
Are you sure its the low beam cause i think that one is the high beam.
did you ever figure out if this was the high beam or not?
H11 are low beams H9 are high beams
HEY BROTHER JUST A HEADS UP, YOU PUT A LOW BEAM H11 LIGHT BULB IN THE HIGH BEAM LOCATION…..
I’m wondering the same thing ..?
Why is the driver side soo hard
I payed 100 to someone to this job think that they had to put the whole light out to install the ligh bulbs
Just remove the battery. It's faster
Thannk you~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you would be better off replacing the whole car with an American made car
Lol
unfortunately my chevy was the same way but I totally agree

You’re not very bright my friend. Most Japanese made vehicles outlast American junk by far. Don’t fool yourself.
Gave a little laugh but nissan altima and toyota Camry outlasted most American cars in my family, currently have a Ford explorer so fingers crossed 😅
Why go through the bottom
Thank you!!
Thank You!
