  • I have always wanted to knit thrummed mittens and I finally decided to try out this neat technique! In this video I show you how I make my thrums using unspun wool roving from Mama Knows Luxury. At the 2:55 mark I also show you how to knit them into your mittens!
    Yarn used: The Petite Wool by We Are Knitters (bulky level 5)
    Needles used: Clover Takumi 6 mm 24” long cord
    Kitty stitch marker: Fireflynotes on Etsy
    Check out my blog post to see what pattern I used for these mittens! I share my tips, notes, and what I learned along the way as I knit these incredibly warm mittens: www.allaboutam...

    How much bigger should the mitten be than the hand to make allowance for the thrums?

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  10 месяцев назад

      I’ve been told that the thrums compress quite a bit with time and wear, so you want the mittens to be quite snug! I read about people’s experiences with knitted thrummed mittens, and sometimes their mittens turned out way too big later on since their thrums had compressed!
