Your statement clearly stats that orders over 1,500 so why would you add the equals sign? If the statement said 1,500 and over then I could see why the equals sign would be used.
'coz most people would probably squawk about it: "I achieved the magical 1,500 number, so I deserve the bonus!" (not realizing that it had to be just one teensy order above 1,500 to qualify). It's the same when you ask people about their work week. You: "I work Monday to Friday." Me, again: "You don't work Fridays? Where do I apply for a job with your company?"

Good spot Philip, adding the equals make the logical equal to 1,500 or over.
