Now that the DLC is out, the divine relic makes this Boss easier for sure. Heart ring, coffee, and smoke bomb are all very helpful.
I believe so. When you become a mini plane, you’ll see a little bit of smoke which is your window to dodge something. It’s a very small window of time though, and unlike the smoke bomb in regular levels, you can’t go through something. You can only use it to dodge the edge of a projectile that would normally hit you.
I personally wouldn’t consider an s-rank with any of the dlc charms to be a true s-rank. They make the game really easy lol

I got this boss today. Without coffee it's not possible to S-rank this bastard, haha.
Wanna mention my strat for the first fase, it's quite different than all the tutorials and maybe it can help players. I stay all the way on top and move horizontal. If the egg is 50 % high stay in the middle and if the egg is 50% lower go to the left and don't cross the line you mentioned. Use mainly bombs and switch to gunfire if wally is in line with you. It's also take some pratice, but found it more consistent for me. This fight was so hard, you can't cheese it out with other charms like the new ones or the harts. Parry alot and you have to use on every fase a super. That's crazy, but a damn relief when you destroy this boss on S RANK.
My strategy :
Phase 1 : Stay close to Wally’s head( it makes it a bit harder to dodge the eggs, but in my runs, it saved me 3-6 seconds which is crucial for S Ranking) and if you have WhetStone, just parry until he shoots the eggs, when he does, stop parrying, and focus on dodging
Phase 2: It’s basically the same thing as in Normal, so just dodge
Phase 3: Always be inside the egg shield, and when Willy‘s eggs close in, use your super and get out
Phase 4: Remember that you can’t damage Wally when his heart is out, so make sure to always shoot his heart. On the run I got my S Rank, that little detail saved me from 2:10 to 2:09 the maximum time to get an S Rank
Great video! Personally I keep my super for the third phase instead of using it on the second phase, which basically halves the time needed to beat phase 3, as I hear the Flight of the Valkyries part early into the fourth phase.
I usually get a super in the third phase regardless but getting the Valkyries in the 4th is crazy fast!

Dude, this is an amazing video. The sequence, the facts are actually useful and not obvious, and you’re just chill. This is my last s rank in the main game, and I can’t s rank Wally because of time. It’s so painful to spend an hour and a half to beat it, to see I took a few seconds too long.
Even though I'd managed (and wanted to) figure out most of this stuff myself, I had still been stuck for HOURS on this boss. Yet after watching this I managed it on the second try. The part that really helped was pointing out the safe zones in the last phase. I stuck to those spots and nailed it. Still in shock at how much of a difference that one thing made. (though only doing it after the DLC came out, I found heart ring helped more than coffee, with all the parries for extra health)
The dlc heart charm is op for this boss

I wish I found this channel before attempting to S rank all the Cuphead bosses, at least fighting these guys repeatedly got me to appreciate some soundtracks more like Aivary Action, Firey Frolic and Murine Corps

When I first played the game this was by far the hardest S rank for me, it took me hours to do it. Since then I’ve played some Touhou games and now I tried again and S ranked him on my second try. Touhou changes completely how you play shooter games. Now the damn Ice King from the DLC is the hardest S rank.
Harder than chef saltbaker? I only miss him but I really can't
I’m having a lot of trouble on Moonshine Mob and Esther, Saltbaker was really tough, Howling Aces were also bad, I was actually easily doing it but my timing was bad. Mortimer wasn’t actually that bad, I just used Chal’s double jump and dash to dodge the eye instead of dashing over it.
I think he was the second easiest S on the dlc after glumstone
One strategy I have for the final phase is whenever Wally is towards the right of the screen and he's using his trash talk attack, I use the EX torpedos since they go straight forward and thus deal much more chip damage to Wally as they move across his long and large hurt-box.

Ggs, decided to fully complete Cuphead this year and I've got all s ranks even if I struggled with this one
Great guide once again! So umm the video came literally like 1 or 2 days after i s rank him with ur old guide so yeah i was like: you have to be kidding me XD.Also something off topic for any1 trying to s rank king dice i recommend getting as many if not all health ups in the battle if you are struggling (as long as they health up slots are in bosses that you complete without getting hit)i got all health ups and i managed to s rank him!

hey I just wanted to tell you that after 5 hours I finally S ranked thhis boss with mugman, it was so difficult.

Use the Devine relic, it includes heart ring coffee whetstone and smoke bomb
Plane levels would have been much more fun if we had more variety of weapons just like normal play.
Standard gun
Bombs
Laser beam
Charge blast
Missiles
To name a few.
Was thinking the same thing. Every single plane level I was getting my prostate checked!!! "Most" other bosses took me about 30-40 mins to beat but the planes... At least an hour and a half at minimum. This fker right here took me four hours! I couldn't help but think if I had more maneuvers, they'd be slightly easier!!!!
The thing that annoys me the most is I can never do it fast enough, I just physically don’t know how, I’ve tried very hard and nothing seems to be fast enough. I’ve gotten A on this boss because I did everything else right, so bugged

You can actually shoot Wallys body from below using the bullets by flying to the bottom left side, this makes it much easier.

Need this so bad, been stuck on Wally expert for so long it’s the only one I haven’t done besides dice and the devil
oh yeah for phantom express you have to be running on the ride your cart is on or there is a chance you might get hit. Also your Dr Kahl S rank really helped me so much and helped me beat him so easily. I somehow got an A- z(or more i forgot). I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT HAPPENS I BEAT DJIMMI LAST BUT GOT AN A- OR HIGHER I DON'T UNDERSTAND. Also can you do an s rank guide for each king dice miniboss? It's really slapping me in the face rn

I never forget how i felt when i defeated this boss in Expert, after so many attempts and when doing the S Rank run.... Gosh i remember my face when i finally defeated him and get everything perfect, just to see that i took 2:12 minutes to complete... My entire mind felt destroyed but for some miracle the game still gave me a S - Rank. Thank you game i don't know how or why, but thanks. I'm not doing this boss again 😅

Oh yea kinda tip: in the last phase on Wally warbles you can go to the bottom right of the screen and spam EXes since his HITBOX is wide you can hit him a bunch of time with cuphead / mug man’s super muncher thing

I am not gonna lie, Wally Warbles was absolute HELL to S Rank. After many times of frustration I finally managed to S Rank this annoying boss. This one took me a lot longer than Dr Kahls Robot.

Yeah Im not 100% sure but I think you have to do it under like 2 minutes ten seconds

I keep getting times that are like 2 min 15 sec with the divine relic. I would think that it would be great for this since you can recover some HP and smoke bomb, but I’ve noticed that when using the heart ring or divine relic that includes it, parries give you HP and not super meter cards which sucks. Even though coffee is attached to the divine relic, it doesn’t seem to make up for the supers you won’t be able to do. The time limit is what keeps robbing me out of the S rank.
I watch these guides to get a feel on what to do, not S rank them

I know you find it kahls robot to be very easy and for i while he was the hardest boss in my opinion. Now I kinda agree after the existence of Wally warbles on expert. It’s so funny that Wally is so easy on regular and simple but then when you try expert it is by far the hardest inkwell isle 2 boss. (Yes I find Wally harder than grim matchstick mostly because of the lobber being very good for grim matchstick.) and I think Wally warbles is the hardest boss in general besides chef saltbaker.
This bird is still the hardest expert boss for me
If you have the DLC, and got the relic upgraded, you sn use that as well, it combines the smoke bomb, a 5 second faster coffee, whetstone, and heart ring.
But I hear you saying: IT RANDOMIZES YOUR GUNS!

i use chalice and i can use bomb mode to nuke from above there's a blame spot where the big egg cannot directly hit you just have to dodge the shards

I FINALLY BEAT THIS BOSS AFTER AN HOUR
That tip about the soundtrack was really helpful. Also, this happened to me a couple of times but when going for all S ranks sometime my time would be 2:08 or 2:04 and I would still get the S rank. Is this a common thing? Or has it happened to anyone else?

Does divine relic make you do less damage? I’ve been using divine relic on this Bossfight, and for some reason I can’t do it fast enough no matter what I do.
The Only problem i had was the time limit, it was so hard trying to get below 2 minutes and 10 seconds
what charm is best. since the dlc came out has it changed? he is the last boss i have but i took 2 41 somehow
I always finish the boss with 3 parries, 3 hp and 6/6 super meter, but I never finish it in time. (I use heart ring)
I tried S-ranking this boss and three times I beat him but I was always slightly too slow
Tbh I don’t know why you said use smoke bomb in the beginning, it doesn’t work in plane levels because dashing isn’t a thing
