  • Arthur Swaun, an active and healthy man who loves fishing in the Florida Keys, was unexpectedly diagnosed with HPV-related head and neck cancer in March 2023 after discovering a sudden lump on his neck. Treated by Dr. Noah Kalman at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute, Swaun underwent a shortened radiation regimen through a clinical trial, which reduced his treatment from seven weeks to three, and chemotherapy. Despite experiencing side effects like nausea and weight loss, Swaun credits his recovery to his supportive wife and dedicated medical team. Now cancer-free and back to his active lifestyle, he emphasizes the importance of the HPV vaccine in preventing such cancers.
