@@jamesmodlin6279 There's a big difference between 3 bad ass, soulful sisters from the street and a handful of middle class white girls. Its not racism to point out poor casting for Chiffon, Ronette and Crystal. But at the end of the day, this is a high school production, its hardly Broadway. Enjoy the entertainment they provide or just dont watch.
A local community theater is putting this show on. Auditions are next month, and I so want to be a part of it, but I'm worried I won't have time for the rehearsals and stuff, since it's right in the middle of build season for our FRC team.
Lianne, my son is appearing as The Dentist in his high school's upcoming production of "Little Shop". I wanted to tell you how impressed I am with your singing: dead-on notes and POWERFUL, seemingly effortless voice! And I loved Greg's voice as well....I know it's been years since you did this, but great job; extremely professional & entertaining production by the whole cast!
Hey, We had an ensemble too, there just arent very many ensemble numbers in Little Shop. But they were in Skid Row, The Meek Shall Inherit, and Don't Feed The Plants. They were also in some scenes without songs. The entire show is up on my channel so you can take a look at where we used them. Unfortnately most of the songs aren't written for an ensemble
There's a chance we'll be doing this musical for our school production next year and if we do and it's even as half as good as this one is I'll be extreeeeemely happy :) this is so great!
Y'all actually sang the hell out of that. You guys have one of the better Greek Choruses I have heard, it seems to me that you ladies worked hard on your blending. Whoever was singing Alto was holding it down!
Doing Skid Row in Preforming Arts and this is the version we use as reference as to what it should be like, and for idea's on the Choreography. We like the idea's used in this for the Chorus better than the movie ones or some professional versions. Great job guys.
I feel like with this particular performance, you have an AMAZING bunch of actors/singers but a only mediocre director/props/set people. The music is fantastic in here, but i feel like the blocking could have been much better.
Hi Lianne! I just graduated 8th grade and we had my high school auditions already and I got Audrey! I was just wondering, what do you do for warming up and stuff, I'd love to know any secrets you have to having a stronger voice. I think I have a nice strong head voice, especially when I'm really excited so a show would be no problem for me- but I was just wondering how you warmed up or how you practiced at home or if you're naturally a great singer! Thanks
Not to be overly critical (in fact, this offers a little amusement), but what are a man who works for the William Morris agency and freaking Clare Booth Luce doing on Skid Row? At least the people who play Bernstein and Patricia Martin are in different costumes, so it's clearer that they're not the NBC exec and marketing ace we'll see them as later.
Wish I could've had this musical put on back when I was in high school! I would've killed to be in it!! It's been my favorite musical since 5th grade ❤️
Singing the part of Seymour is very tricky. If the person sings too well it just sounds wrong. It doesn't fit the part. This Seymour has a very strong voice but he has the difficult task of nerding the voice out a bit and holding back on singing it too strong. Audrey's job is to make sure we all see the abused woman from the trailer park but that she still has a heart of gold. Seymour (Greg Gorenc) IMO definitely does a better job acting and singing the part.
Agreed but he did a better job than she did. She had a strong voice but somewhat lacking in the comic timing. He had the stronger voice and was more natural.
omg when i actually take a minute and look past the terrible doo wop girls, i realize that Seymour and Audrey are actually quite good. so i apologize, this ddoesnt COMPLETELY suck:)
i have seen many different people play Seymour including myself and in my opinion i think they portrayed him better than this lad thats just my opinion this lad is good just not as good as he could have been
Audrey and Seymoure r the nails and glue holding it together. -Audrey: This was great 100% performing -Seymoure: little weak at the start but from then on it was much better. but more emotion when you sing " ... to get out of here" line. its like you don't meen it. -"Then you go" Bum: False, lazy and weak. no points for this one - 3 girls : acting part was Very bad, singing was good shame for some word forcing , hate the " no go" parts, they have to be high notes.
Ok this cast is goals!!! Especially Audrey! Just got cast as Audrey and have been using this productions Audrey as a reference bc she is so good!
+Katie Rochette lol sameeee
+Carly Calinagan same! audrey squad 🙋🏻
I got chills at Seymour's voice! Phenomenal talent! God Bless!
i have been watching these and THAT SEYMOUR IS THE MOST ADORABLE AND TALENTED BEAN EVER OMG LIKE THAT RIFF ON "which i am" IS SO CUTE I LOVE HIM OMG
Something about those three girls made me so mad idek y
It's cause they are awkwardly stereotyping, it announced me too
Lydia Jordan They were so cringey 😂😂
It’s because the actual script is supposed to cast them as a black trio
Your racism? Maybe that's what it is.
I don't know. Just guessing.

Y'all actually sang the hell out of that. You guys have one of the better Greek Choruses I have heard, it seems to me that you ladies worked hard on your blending. Whoever was singing Alto was holding it down!
excellent - a pleasure to watch!
Thank you SO much.
That Seymour is really good
hello! Everyone is high school aged- So anywhere from 15-18 roughly
This three girls lack the sass

This is awesome
You guys sound awesome. I wish I could heard this live. Unfortunately, the sound on this recording is not the best.
this is super good
I want your stage! Makes room for so much better sets
this is just a matter of different opinions haha they done good for a high school production i think we can both agree on that ;p

Thank you so much! I don't remember exactly but i THINK that note is a C

Your profile picture makes me think you are unsure of that...

I think the guy playing Seymour is easily better than the girl playing Audrey and she is good.
I feel like the trio should always sing soulful....idk bout these girls lol
I actually really hate the girls playing Crystal, Chiffon and Ronette hhh
Hiya! Could you tell me roughly how old everyone was? Thanks!!
great music direction and choreography! The chorus sounds amazing. Audrey and Seymour are good too, I just don't love the riffs on his part.
Agreed but he did a better job than she did. She had a strong voice but somewhat lacking in the comic timing. He had the stronger voice and was more natural.
I would pay Broadway Prices to see this girl Play Audrey WOW not a fan of Seymour though
