At Electric Umbrella we use music to unite people and create a more inclusive society.
Through amazing workshops and performances, on stage and in schools, we empower learning disabled people, of all abilities, fostering confidence, skills, and leadership potential.
“Acceptance”: is the first of 7 music videos to accompany our digital education resources. These resources are designed to equip teachers with the tools they need to promote disability confidence to the next generation of learners and influencers in society - potentially reaching every school and child all over the UK.
The equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) Electric Umbrella Express resource pack has been compiled by work undertaken with members of Electric Umbrella and the children of Sarratt Church of England Primary school. It has been written for teachers and students to explore EDI and is designed to address the obligations of the SMSC (Spiritual, moral, social and cultural) learning which underpins every curriculum. Using songs which were written specifically for the programme, this pack will provide a range of activities to use across a wide range of ages and can be used to teach English, SMSC and other areas of the curriculum.
When you’re a part of Electric Umbrella, the stage is always set, the lights are bright, and the show is always on.
Everyone in our community has the opportunity to work with professional musicians to co-produce extraordinary performances.
And in doing so, we’re on a mission to challenge people to think differently about learning disabled people.
After all, there's no such thing as normal.
