Troy made a good point and had Graeme on toast when he said the Sterling situation is an indication of the state of Chelsea just now and when Graeme suggested it’s the modern player and not the club that’s the issue Deeney won the argument by saying it doesn’t happen at clubs like City etc. I’m not a fan of Deeney generally and certainly not a fan of Man City but he made Graeme look even thicker than he manages to make himself look here!

Simon defending owners as per usual. Boehly bought Chelsea as a real estate deal, knowing it buys him some of the most valuable land in the country with permission to build a stadium elsewhere and develop it or sell it all off. He has sold the training ground to a sister company, he sold the hotels and has stripped and sold off the assets. It's a fire sale.
I don't think that's OK. I don't think owners should be allowed to buy an elite club to exploit and gut it for a profit before moving on. Even if they're successful on the pitch, Chelsea will be a shadow of the club they were by the time he leaves.
Anyway, people are quick to forget the way Sterling forced his way out of Liverpool, with his agent making statements and him downing tools and faking illness. Maybe what goes around comes around, and now a club is treating him the way he treated Liverpool. Maybe both parties are at fault.

Arsenal's Edu said in an interview recently that when he got to the club he had 3 criteria to determine which players would be kept in the squad. If the player is older than 26, if he is on big wages and if he is not performing, he is out the door. What is happening to Sterling is the same that happened to Ozil and Aubameyang.

I truly believe that the owners are running their club like playing fifa career mode.
Samu Omorodion failed his medical, but Chelsea still needed to sign somebody from Atlético due to the importance of Gallagher’s sale as a homegrown talent generating pure profit to comply with regulations. So out of the blue Chelsea decide to sign Joao Felix - but since he’s more like a winger than a striker, the board just decided to remove sterling, not because Felix is necessarily better, but simply younger and thus will have a higher market value in the foreseeable future.
And since a central striker is still missing due to the failed samu medical, Chelsea will sign Osimhen.
    It’s logic insanity.

I understand what Simon’s saying about the new Chelsea owners only being interested in making money and only see it as a business and are less concerned about the sporting success of Chelsea while they’re the owners and I think he’s largely right. But one big issue with that theory; surely if they’re only looking at the bottom line and their bank balances then they wouldn’t have spent the absolute FORTUNE on players/wages that they have done so far?! They’d surely he penny pinching and waiting for the club value to naturally increase in the short/medium terms as it naturally will with the Premier League being such a powerful and financially strong brand. All clubs within that will see their value naturally rise, even without any trophies, as long as they stay in the league. Simon’s point doesn’t make sense in this context!

Brentford play a direct game which suits him whereas most of the top teams are far more intricate in terms of their play and his all round play isn't good enough in terms of his link up play. I genuinely believe Arteta would rather play Havertz up front all season than Toney. Watkins is a much better footballer all round.

I think maresca is doing a great job these are grown men on a high wage if the manager doesn’t like the type of winger/player you are then he has every right to sell you so you take it as a man and find a new club, as a Chelsea fan I’m happy with this decision and prefer players like Neto over sterling

So Spurs don't have a european campaign this season says Mr Deeney. Maybe he doesn't think the 'EUROPA LEAGUE' is a european campaign. The clue is in the name Troy. 🤦‍♂

Palmer wasn't the best player in that game so can’t built around him, if anything we don’t want an Hazard 2.0 incident to repeat itself, when he’s no longer in the team.

Simon you have a really bad trait in that you judge people on how they dress, a typical southern ponce.

The issue with ivan toney big clubs wont trust him i dont want him at Chelsea. This bet he did has damaged his career. If he never did this betting he wouldn't be at Brentford still. If im an owner of a club uv give me a reason not to trust u. U damaged ur creditably. Thats why no big clubs will touch him. Hes now a bad investment for big clubs
