I loved this scene, the whistle, Gumball and Darwin running at full speed through school and the slo mo’s of everyone being knocked over made this scene a masterpiece
Well, it shows off three things: first, the people behind the show are not nobodies, you don't need any special justification to make this kind of things in media, just be allowed to do so (exactly like the Edgar Wright movies), and the fact every episode which involves Banana Joe with a prominent role are top 10 of the series in terms of quality for some reason.
they basically made an original twisted nerve song, with the iconic whistle that leads into a dramatic orchestral finish - you can't tell me they weren't inspired by that song, both are so good too
I saw this episode one morning before I went out to the bus stop for school. This whistle stuck with me all day, was humming it till I got home that afternoon. Same episode aired at 4pm, an hour after I hit the door. Funny how life works sometimes.
I've had this dumb whistling stuck in my head for the past 3 hours and I couldn't remember what it was. I kept getting twisted nerve from kill bill and I was going insane. But I finally found it! Never give up, dreams do come true
I haven't watched this scene in an incredibly long time and just randomly remembered it because fevers from being sick do things to my memory. This whistle engrained itself into my mind, and I think it was the first introduction to juxtaposition that I recognized. A lot of the Gumball episodes are just cool af, but this one sticks in my head because of the peace of the scene, just everything heading toward inevitable disaster, and the viewer contemplating what the scene will show next despite knowing exactly what will. While I stopped watching the show once I turned around 8 because I'd watched probably all of the episodes a few dozen times, and the plot was too predictable for my growing and adapting brain, I picked it back up around 6 years ago and boy, did I enjoy re-watching the episodes. This whole series was my childhood, and undoubtedly laid the foundation for my entire lifestyle. Going to the internet just seems like an evolution of watching the show, which is saying something, considering how extensive my experiences with it are.
I saw this episode when I was younger and this shot fear into me. Still kinda dose. Edit: guys I have bad autocorrect and dyslexia, stop saying I'm a child for one stupid spelling mistake and stop being rude about my videos I post, It isn't for you if you don't like any of it. Edit: also idc if you're a Christian! This argument isn't about your religion and you are making yourself look stupid in this entire thing, all because you want the last say in this argument. Not gonna happen.
It's funny, but the whistle reminds me of "Twisted Nerve" from the Kill Bill soudtrack (which originally came from the 1968 movie "Twisted Nerve") It was also popularized thanks to the song "Chill Bill" by Rob $tone! 😉
@@TheRealCCall That's right! It seemed so obvious that I didn't even mention it.... 😂 By the way, I love your picture of Vernon Dursley (you picked it well because it's hilarious!).
How is it that you make memes about school, post gotcha life content and still have a profile picture that looks like a middle aged medical student who hasn’t slept for more then 15 minutes at a time?
So banana Joes whistle is the most powerful thing of all time, slowing down time, creating mass destruction, and letting gumball and Darwin movie level dramatic run through the halls.
What makes this scene so good is just the silence. We only hear Banana Joe’s whistle, see Gumball and Darwin running at full speed just makes it so intense and it didn’t need to be, but it fits so well
I used to watch Gumball a ton when I was younger. I also used to watch Baldis Basic's videos alot. I always noticed something familiar about POTT whistle. Naturally I crossed referenced it with this. Theres a similar thing with an image of Baldi with sparklers which is based of a Sonics Schoolhouse image.
