It’s kind of like the angels were stronger in numbers. Like when it was revealed that heaven was failing in the final seasons, there were only a handful of angels. They were damn near extinct. The war & Cas massacring thousands of them was kind of like a jump start to that too. Then with them losing their wings from the fall, their powers just slowly weakened over time. I do miss when nobody could fuck with angels though, since their power was exactly what you’d expect of a creature like them. It sucks

I want to say they have no gender but they address each other as “brother and sister” no matter the vessel. Like hannah, she took a female vessel but switched to a male but was still a “female”. Then the archangels like Gabriel, Raphael, Lucifer and Michael, they are considered the angels “older brothers”, even described by Castiel when Raphael knocked him down to prove a point.
