- Find time for Noah and I to go do a grocery shopping trip to restock our ice cream freezer. Our family just really really likes ice cream and my homemade cookies. We live where there is about eight months out of the year. We have snow on the ground and even when it’s cold, we still have our freezer full of ice cream. Now I do sometimes during the holiday convert my ice cream freezer to a butter and chocolate chip freezer because I do so much baking from about September to January.
Is kind of a cool idea because we have so many kids come over and they know exactly where the ice cream freezer is and we don’t mind them helping themselves because that’s why we buy it is not only for our family but for the people who come over and hang out with us. And it’s so funny because after I did the first restock, Izzy literally called her best friend and told her to come over so they could see our ice cream freezer and have treats. we were down to some popsicles, but we got these gelato popsicles to try so those were kind of an addition and they actually weren’t too bad. But as you can see all the ice cream was gone, and I made sure this haul not to buy more popsicles cause they just didn’t go as fast.
But I had to buy mochi a couple times because that is my husband’s treat that he eats at night after working all day he sits in his chair, has a drink, a snack and then a couple of his mochi. We introduce mochi to him when we were in Disney World and he is kind of obsessed with him. He loves him so much. I just wish we had more varieties where we live. We only have the passionfruit, mango, strawberry and cookies and cream. And I’ve heard there’s some some other flavors that are absolutely amazing so I hope that we’re gonna start to see those flavors.

I think you would really enjoy making your own No Churn Ice Cream. Beat 2 cups heavy cream until soft peaks form, I do mine in the stand mixer on speed 6 for 3 minutes. Stir in one standard can of sweetened condensed milk and one tsp vanilla. Thats your basic recipe. Let your imagination run wild! Add a package of instant pistachio pudding and some crushed nuts for pistachio ice cream. Add a package of cheesecake flavored pudding mix, some crushed graham crackers mixed with butter, and any sort of fruit compote or jam you want for a cheesecake ice cream. You can even make ice cream sandwiches with your homemade cookies. I have tried a ton of different flavors, let me know if you want any ideas.

Just did my first real re-stock ever. Went 3 days without power from Hurricane Beryl and had to dump the fridge and freezer. 😢 First time living here in 10 years that we’ve lost food from hurricanes. Just so thankful we got power back. My in-laws are staying with us cuz it’s day 5 for them, and it’s HOT here.

I have that popcorn popper for the microwave. Any unpopped ones you can save and add to next batch and they will pop. Don’t put the butter on top because it could melt it over time and become nasty.

Why are these grown up kids’ always happy to come with you in the grocery store? My kids are 6 and 14 but they hate it when I ask them to join me. Don’t get me wrong, I love being alone in the grocery store lol, its just that I miss those times when all they want is to be with me everywhere I go when they were little 😢

I still can't get over the fact that tax is not included in the price advertised like it is here in the UK. I just wouldn't be able to shop there because I would find it so stressful on a budget. My family has fallen in love with mochi
There is some states that actually don’t have tax on certain goods like food, clothes etc.
It’s a North American thing. Super annoying for sure but when I’m in the UK when I read prices I’m always adding VAT in my head only to realize it’s included in the price 😂
