    Filmed and recorded at St Martin's Church, Salisbury.
    St Martin's is an ancient musical centre, older than Salisbury Cathedral and occupying a site which has been a place of worship for well over 1000 years. It maintains an Anglo-Catholic tradition.
    More details about the church can be found at www.benmatonmu....
    Please SUBSCRIBE to hear more of my weekly recordings. I am determined to upload every week to share the sounds of this historic instrument and the wonderful acoustic of St Martin's, where I’m fortunate to be Director of Music and Organist.
    This organ is over 150 years old and retains its original mechanical (or ‘tracker’) action, which explains why the keys on the upper manual (the Swell) come down with those on the lower (the Great) when I play them. Everything is coupled together to produce a grand sound, the bass played by the feet.
    TIP: if you hold your phone sideways under your chin, you’ll hear the magnificent William Hill organ in stereo.
    My website www.benmatonmusic.co.uk, I am a freelance organist for weddings and funeral services in and around Salisbury, UK.

    Fanny J. Crosby, 1873
    Verse 1
    Blessèd assurance, Jesus is mine!
    O what a foretaste of glory divine!
    Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
    Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
    This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior, all the day long;
    This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior, all the day long.
    Verse 2
    Perfect submission, perfect delight,
    Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
    Angels descending bring from above
    Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
    This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior, all the day long;
    This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior, all the day long.
    Verse 3
    Perfect submission, all is at rest
    I in my Savior am happy and blest,
    Watching and waiting, looking above,
    Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
    This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior, all the day long;
    This is my story, this is my song,
    Praising my Savior, all the day long.

    Thank your Ben. Nine months after your posting this,
    I now have good ideas for my next little organ prelude at my small village church.
    I do really enjoy your kind, thoughtful wisdom. Thank you again.

    Nice job! Good registration, as usual! You played this great old hymn as it was intended! Assuming it’s a tracker action.
