Man, there are some unusual, tricky chords in there.. Guess that's why I love STP and Dean's guitar parts so much. Thanks for shedding some light on this tune!
Man I love this song, you did an incredible job on this one! Something about that little lick outta the slide lead part that always grabs my attention!
Beautiful guitar, beautiful chords selection by the one and only Dean Deleo and beautiful cover. I love and certainly apprecite the effort you´ve mad by making several STP tutorial/play along vids. This is my all time n1 or 2 favorite band, sadly underrated by many and kinda living as the ´´shadow´´ of Seattle´s big 4 (when musicaly I consider STP to be way beyond Nirvana, Alice, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam). Have a great rest day. PS: My favorite video of yours was another Stone Temple Pilots, ´´and so I know´´ (the epitome of an underrated song by an underrated band that still rocks despite Scott´s death, now with the great Jeff Gutt).
The only person who could probably play this better is Dean himself. You nailed the whole thing, especially the solo section with both parts going at the same time. I love stumbling upon covers that are actually worthy of being on RUclips because they’re so accurate. I’ve always thought of Seven Caged Tigers as the hidden gem of the STP catalogue. The outro is definitely a nod to “Over the Hills and Far Away.”
Righteous as always J. One of my fav aspects of Deans playing is his habit of using some more complicated jazz type chords. You don't see that so much in The Misfits or Slayer. (Although I dig both of those bands significantly) Anyway, you did a great job on this as always. Cheers! V
In defense of The Misfits & Slayer, totally different genre & sound bro lol thats like comparing apples to oranges lol but agree with your point about Deans chord phrasing/structures and melodies.
I found this video yesterday and tonight I just spent 1.5 hours easily, dissecting what you played here and now I can play along. I've been learning all sorts of STP songs this week. thought I'd drop you a line of thanks. it's fun playing Daisy which leads right into this.
The solo is an interesting one you can definately here the slide in most parts but also i hear natural bends & vibrato aswell?! Crazy stuff! Great cover!!
it's looks awkward for sure lol, but I think that's just because my hands are too small for that chord. It took me a while, but I finally got used to the transition. Thanks for watching!
Dean is my biggest idole for guitar. He makes amazing synthesis of rock and jazz.. Makes me surprised alwayss! And you are amazing, too. Waiting for another covers from stp; Specially the last albüm has beautiful harmony, did you listen it?
Amazing channel! I have been following you for a while. Hope you can put a AND SO I KNOW... not many covers online and most of them not good! This is my favorite song! Hope you can!
I've had that PRS for long time now, but I'm liking it a lot these days for strat tones. I like Jeff Gutt, but album-wise, I tend to like STP pre-2003, mainly because the mix and bigger drum sound.
Thank you for those kind words Dave, I'd of course be honored, but I'm pretty sure we're in different states. Btw, does this mean I have your blessing to cover more of your material on my channel?
@@jakesguitarvidz of course you can cover whatever you want Jake. I was kind of kidding about the band thing, I should have asked if I could join YOUR band.✌️I am in California. Dave

@@virgboogie I'm aware of the difference. I was being facetious.
These jazzy chords come from Dean's love for Bossa Nova music.
@@emfraridades7261 Yes, Jobim was the man. My father raised me on Sinatra, Jobim, Damone, and Beethoven.
Beautifully played and gorgeous tone! Great demonstration of Tastefully used cords within rock music.
Glad you're back. Just found your vids
When it comes to proper STP chords and licks, Jake is the authority! Love this song since it first came out. Awesome cover as always!

I like how you will take a long break and then always come back with some bangers. Keep rockin man 👍
Excellent job, some great chords
This is brilliant.
I just wanted to hear and see how you played that epic and "ethereal" guitar in the end. Which you didn´t play. Good job on the cover though
Finally you did it again man! Cheers!
I love this song and you made a great cover of it, well done!

That B7 in the verse is murder, right?! I’ve been nearly dislocating my pinky for years, thanks to this (great) tune

Where is the tutorial on this song song you once had on your channel?
It was taken down, it was not as accurate as the one up now. Thanks for watching!

No WAY it`s Dave really? Best voice in Tak Show!
Great! Jake, you did a Church on Sunday video right? Did you delete it? Please let me know... Peace!
I did the "Church on Tuesday" video a few years ago, I took it down, but plan to re-record it later on. Thanks for watching.
Nice Custom man, looks old, 80s perhaps?
It's an '89 I believe.
Yet another great cover! Great work my friend. Would you happen to have a Patreon?
Thanks man! I may get one after the channel reaches a certain point, but not for now.

If you'd add the chord names as you play your be doing the whole world a favor. Their chord usage rivals Led Zep and The Beatles.
Please see my newer lesson for this song. I put the chords up.
I always thought of STP as The Beatles from the 90's lmao
My pinkie just won't do that. It's like ... nope.
So bad style.
