- There was a time I can remember when a boxy S10 Blazer wasn't too hard to find in the junkyard. That's not the case anymore. This 1983 two door 4x4 is 40 years now and as such seeing it here in the yard, I had to check it out. It arrived complete but the yard removed the engine and wheels. Someone also pulled the driver side door. Other than that it was pretty complete and not in too bad a shape considering it age. This was also a manual with a unique looking interior. I think this one didn't deserve this fate. Nonetheless it'll be here for a little while before ultimately meeting the crusher.
i like s10 blazers.
My uncle scrapped his 2wd a year or 2 ago. This one looks pretty rust free compared to his.
A vehicle like that it would still be a everydat drive in my country. Plus she looks rust free.
looks to be in good shape. Sad that it is not on the road!
I would love to have that push bar setup
Whoa Nelley, it's a "T" and these are for me. I had a 1991 S10 Blazer Tahoe 2WD with a 4.3L TBI V6 for a short time. It was given to me and then I was asked to give it back to the person that gave it to me. I got back all the money I put into it. LOL. The person I got it from was the 2nd owner. It had 7,345 miles when he got it.
We got the VIN, we win: 1G8 for US made Chevrolet multipurpose vehicle, C for 4,001 to 5,000 # Gross Vehicle Weight Rating with hydraulic brakes, T for 4WD compact chassis, 1 for 1/2 ton rated, 8 for MPV, B for 2.8L V6 with Rochester Varajet two barrel, aka "Disaster Jet", 3 is a check digit, D for the 1983 model year, 0 for Pontiac Truck and Coach (Pontiac West Assembly), Pontiac, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Pontiac T&C facility operated until 2008-2009 (there were various parts of it). No tag, can't brag, and no SPID, wish you did, but this is code 19 Black exterior paint. The 2.8L V6 with carburetor was a bit of a slug, and only when it got TBI starting in 1986 did it get better. The 4.3 V6 (which came out in 1988) was a vast improvement, as the 2.8L V6 was a bit underpowered especially with 4WD.
Whoa Nelley, made in MI and going bye-bye. That's it, time to quit. T10 and gotta go. 2.8L VIN code "B" and it's over for thee. Rochester Disaster Jet is one big heap, you bet. Going to be flat and that's that. Just came back from the land of cheese on a business trip, and in the hotel pool I took a dip. Square body on the small, you can't save them all. Got the VIN and we win. Going to get squished and many here, maybe Benny, the GM faithful and you betcha the Google Man are going to be very, very, very, very pissed.
I worked at a hollow metal shop back in the 80's that had a two wheel drive truck that was a four speed model and yes there was a lot to be desired with the 2.8
Slow as molasses. Lol.
I just sold one these just resently it was my uncle's it was a 88/89 had the manual lever for the 4 wheel drive that one has the older dash..never seen one these in a stick my uncle's was auto had the lighted mirror inside and the heated glass in back it was all original too..glad u did the video on this..
👍
Good little Truck's.
A square body s10 blazer. So cool, I like the s10 trucks.
Had an older friend years back who had an S-10, 4wd Blazer although it was dark blue. He converted it to a 383 stroker, mated to a 5-speed. It was very cool; John had a modified 308 Ferrari and a beautiful '71 Z28.
Oh man I'm sorry to see that Blazer in the yard I love the 83 Blazers and I still would have bought that off the yard put me an engine on a door on it and that's still cruise that truck put me some nice Cragar rims on it too as far as Chevy Blazers 83 is the best darn shame another good video though.
I still drive one of these everyday. Mine is a 1986 GMC S-15 JIMMY.
Chevy had that body style for years, I cleaned them up new for delivery in '94
Aaaahhhh, damn I had an '84 S10 Blazer Sport 5spd back in the late '80s, same interior, same embroidered seat pattern. Mine was 4X4 2.8 V6 and I wish I could have it back. If I knew where this was, I'd buy the interior out of it, you cannot replace those seats and they are getting hard to find. The GMC equal to this would be the S15 GYPSY edition, seemingly even harder to come by.
There is one of those in the woods by my place, not much left on her ,she been picked clean
Too bad for this truck. Was nice back in it's day. I drive (mostly to work) a 2000 Blazer 4x4 4.3 5 speed with the 8.5" ring gear and GU6 3.42, but sadly no G80. Was assembled in 03/00 at the Linden, NJ assembly plant. Paid $950 7 years ago, and still works great, cold A/C too. Countless people say "they made these as a stick??" The Vortec 4.3, which was built 5 miles away in Tonawanda, NY although anemic under 3000 rpm, is a great engine and will run, run, run, run, and run some more, just replace the lower intake gaskets, and flush that nasty Dex-Crap out and use green! 180k and probably will go 100k more.
I saved my 86 2 door Blazer from scrap yard. They put wrong type of oil in it messed up the crank and they happened to get flat at tire shop next door to me and so I asked about it and said they were taking it scrap. They offered 75 bucks for it at scrap yard. I said I be happy pay that now. So I paid them gave me keys and title and dropped it off. I found a wrecked s10 truck for 200 so pulled that motor out and put in Blazer a couple years ago and now about to have put 100,000 miles on her already. Had just little over 100,000 on odometer and now about to hit 200,000 on it and still going strong.
Nice!
Found a complete 5.7 engine
Gasket kit. In a 96 K1500 !
Never know what U will find😊
Nice! Today I found a new quart of 5-20 oil. And about $15 in change in a Volvo. The oil was free
Hey Benny do you think someone might buy this vehicle whole if they were allowed to? What are your thoughts on this question?
I doubt they would sell it whole now
@@ClassicRideSociety perhaps you're right Benny
@@ClassicRideSociety with no engine I agree Benny with you on that
Benny and the jets those are pretty good buckets get them redone in black. And put them a car that has those hideous bench seat.
I liked that 84 model S-10 manual & none air truck. That Blazer wasnt bad bodywise or interior, it hadnt been plundered through other than the jack & wheels. Shame it will get crushed.
I was the one who grabbed the jack to get the rim off that van next to it
Wow. Manual 4x4 with tilt... id drag that thing out of there if it wasnt 3000 miles away...
So sad! People get rid of stuff for no reason, rebuild the trans or rebuild engine, fuel pump no problem. If it was in a major wreck then junk yard time.😢
My daily is an '83 s10 blazer
I used to see a 2wd 2.5 jimmy like this. It was a for speed to.
I had one of these years ago It was so underpowered with a 2.8 V6 didn't get better till 89 when they put in the 3.4
Sorry I misspelled that They put in the The 4.3 l V6
Are you scrapping some parts of the truck?
not mine. the junkyard crushed it
rare find, too bad there is nothing left to salvage, 2.8 litre v6 was under the hood!
Hello, I have a question. I am still looking for a seat belt for the driver's side and the 4x4 blazer emblems that are on the side of the car. Is it a possibility that you can send it? how much would these things cost? Shipping is to the Netherlands.
how much do the seats and roof rack cost?
the junkyard crushed this blazer a little while back
@@ClassicRideSociety Oh that's a shame. If you ever pass by an S-10 Blazer from 1983 or 84, would you please think of me? the items are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, especially in the Netherlands.
Probably was neat optional S10 Blazer with manual too sad it's @ junkyard
What the hell? How come YT hasn’t been telling’ me about your new videos?
RUclips has been known to do that
It's so sad at S10 Blazer being a junkyard 😥😓
Do you ever have to pay an entry fee at the yard? The one I go to charges 5 bucks to get in the gate, I sort of get it but they don’t even give it to you as credit if you do buy something, I guess it’s a tire kicking charge, lame, lol.
Some yards charge and some don't. This particular one doesn't
$5 is pretty high. Most ive been charged was $3 by LKQ
Had a 1984 4x4 pick up with a stick the V6 in those is junk any way.
Another fad car like the 1987 Ford gt mustang n the Ford escort gt
